The Ministry of Energy says a detailed investigation is being launched into the collapse of Wealth
00:06
Services Rig 110, which left one person injured and another missing on Sunday morning.
00:14
In a statement this afternoon, the ministry says a team is being appointed to conduct
00:19
an investigation of the incident and to prepare and submit a comprehensive report of the findings
00:25
of that investigation.
00:27
The ministry also released photos of line minister Stuart Young's visit to the Trinmar
00:32
Marine Base this afternoon, saying he received in-person briefings on the ongoing incident
00:39
management.
00:40
Minister Young, it says, also met with relatives of the missing employee, 45-year-old Pete
00:46
Phillip.
00:47
The statement says Young offered his prayers and words of support to the family members
00:53
present at the base as they deal with this difficult situation.
00:58
The statement informs that the ministry has a team on the ground monitoring the response
01:03
operations alongside OSHA, Heritage Petroleum Company Limited and Wealth Services officials.
01:10
Earlier on Sunday, Young said Rig 110 is a privately owned and operated asset of Wealth
01:16
Services, which was being utilised within the Heritage offshore east field.
01:22
Meanwhile, the missing man's wife, Candacy Phillip, who is seven months pregnant with
01:28
their fifth child, remained at home on Sunday, waging for updates on the search for her husband.
01:36
Sitting with the express at her Laromaine home, Mrs Phillip could barely speak, but
01:41
said her husband's current offshore rotation was expected to end with him coming home on
01:47
Christmas morning.
01:49
Instead, since getting the news, their children have been constantly asking for him throughout
01:55
the day.
01:56
Given the length of time since Phillip went missing, she says she isn't sure that he will
02:01
be found and if so, whether or not he is still alive.
