00:01Previously on Project Runway...
00:03We have never had this many people still in the competition at this point.
00:07Dom and Brayton, you are guaranteed a spot at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
00:11Helen, Justin, Alexandria, you are going to create collections.
00:15We will then decide which of you will show at Lincoln Center.
00:19Justin, Alexandria, you will be showing at New York Fashion Week.
00:32Helen, I'm sorry, that means you're out.
00:35Project Runway was definitely one of the coolest things I've ever done.
00:40It's just a bummer that I'm not going to Fashion Week.
00:43You have a front row seat for fashion's greatest show.
00:50This is Project Runway.
00:56Sit for a minute, everybody.
00:58So, we have several huge days ahead of us.
01:03It's so exciting.
01:05And with that excitement comes a bucket load of stress.
01:08And as you know, you have your Tide Challenge.
01:11So, later today, we're making our very last trip to Mood.
01:14We have to throw out one of the looks and create a brand new washable look.
01:22All right, designers.
01:23You have $250 in your GoBank card.
01:26Your 45 minutes starts now.
01:31I'm looking for a cotton, something similar to this.
01:35Time is up.
01:39Everyone needs to be at the counter, please.
01:43Good luck, okay?
01:44Take care.
01:45Thank you, Mood.
01:50All right, we'll make it work.
01:55Ooh, look at all these hairs.
01:57It's gone.
01:58I feel like the pieces could walk right now as is.
02:07But I'm putting myself through the meat grinder so that I can get this collection as close to the way I want it as I possibly can.
02:16It is nice that I didn't have to compete for a spot at Fashion Week, but you don't know what the judges thought about your collection because you didn't get any feedback.
02:27So, it's really challenging to know where to go from there.
02:31I want to keep the severity of the hairdo.
02:39It's all about the sound waves.
02:41Yeah.
02:42Perhaps I can play off with the curves.
02:43The Intense Smooth Cream, because it's going to give me a really polished, sleek look, is I'm going to go in with the dry oil.
02:49It's going to give this amazing, amazing shot.
02:51I mean, it's definitely the wild factor.
02:53Yesterday, we did the braids, and I got mixed reviews.
02:56I like the idea of having the hair back because some pieces have high colors.
03:01I would like to see the hair go in a different direction.
03:03Lots of texture.
03:04So, I'm going to use L-Net to put this in place.
03:08I was thinking of big, messy buns, do-it-yourself look.
03:11I want to create this stiff, matte texture on the ends.
03:14Gathering kind of a low bun.
03:20I wanted to have that feeling of waves and movement, but to be sharp.
03:24Go really almost cartoony.
03:25We're going to tease and L-Net this hair, and then I can sculpt it, you know.
03:31It's really cool.
03:33Rock on, girl.
03:34Yes.
03:43Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week finalists.
03:46I am so proud of you all.
03:48So, I'm eager to see what you're doing.
03:50Brayden.
03:51Hello.
03:52How are you?
03:53I'm so excited.
03:54But I've been missing you and your feedback, so I'm so glad you're here.
03:58Well, it's such an advantage to hear the judges talk about very specific things.
04:02So, I'm going to do my best to play that role today.
04:05But who knows what they're going to say?
04:06Right.
04:07You don't know.
04:08Exactly.
04:09The reflection is weird in a great way.
04:11It's mixing fabrics that people would not put together.
04:15There's the washable cocktail dress.
04:16I love this draping.
04:18I love the panel.
04:19I still wanted to put me into this.
04:21With the Tide washable look, do we have 11 looks?
04:25Get rid of that one.
04:26I think you need to get a model into it, see how she walks, and then look at it in relation
04:30to everything else.
04:31Okay?
04:32Thank you so much.
04:33All right.
04:34Well, Don, this can't be on an anonymous runway because I know it's yours.
04:39Okay, can we talk about this dress?
04:41Yes.
04:42What's it like on the back?
04:43It drapes.
04:44It's beautiful.
04:45My biggest competitor is Dunn.
04:48She's all about prints, and not many designers are able to pull that off.
04:53Where's the Tide washable look?
04:55This is the sketch for the look.
04:57So I'm doing, like, a bodycon dress with a cutout bat.
05:00I'm doing silver, the print, and then the rest of it's going to be black from the waist down.
05:05Tim warned me about certain parts of my looks, so I'm definitely looking at this with an editing eye.
05:12It's going to have to be all about silhouette, proportion, and fit.
05:16Hi, Justin.
05:17How are you feeling since meeting with the judges yesterday?
05:21I'm glad they like the collections.
05:23I just need to keep working on the Tide work.
05:26So what are you doing for Tide?
05:27I'm aiming to make this reversible.
05:30Oh.
05:31But I like to challenge myself, and...
05:33Don't challenge yourself too much right now.
05:35It's part of one way, so why not?
05:38But you still have work to do.
05:40Alexandria, how are you?
05:42Good.
05:43Tell me about the Tide washable look.
05:45So, a washable silk pant.
05:47Okay.
05:48Great pant, keeping with your other pants, which is good.
05:51Right.
05:52And this is a vest?
05:53A little vest, yeah.
05:54Okay.
05:55How do you feel after yesterday?
05:57Scared.
05:58I was a little surprised that Nina didn't like.
06:01I was too, to be honest.
06:02And what I took away from it was you need to do something to make these looks command more
06:08attention, so that it doesn't become ten monotonous looks.
06:14This advantage that you and Justin have of having heard the judges, if there is a demonstration that you listen to them, they are going to pat you on the back and be very, very happy.
06:27If you appear to do nothing, there can be retribution.
06:30And the things that I need to change, I really can't.
06:33I feel .
06:35One last day.
06:36Oh, lordy.
06:37Today is the last day at the walk room, and tomorrow is the show.
06:54Okay.
06:55Give me a walk.
07:00That's your look.
07:03Okay.
07:04The most stressful part of the model fittings is deciding what to put my used model in,
07:11because that's the look that the judges will be looking at when they're deciding who's going
07:15to win.
07:20How did your fitting go?
07:22I didn't even see anything.
07:23Good.
07:24I just got to make a top fast.
07:26You're remaking something?
07:27Yeah.
07:28Oh, wow.
07:29Hello, everyone.
07:30Hi, Tim.
07:31Billy B, consulting makeup artist for L'Oreal Paris, is here for your consultations.
07:37So use your time with Billy B well.
07:39See you.
07:40What I'm thinking is a darker eye.
07:46What about a colorful, smoky eye?
07:48You can still be really sexy and make a statement.
07:51And I think the skin should be really fresh.
07:53Very fresh.
07:54Luminous.
07:55The great thing about this magic nude is it's so sheer.
07:57That's a good thing.
07:58The visible lift, you'll see the shoe.
08:00That looks great.
08:01One of the big things I would love to happen is to have that pop of red.
08:06Okay.
08:07And I'm going to use a smoldering eyeliner.
08:09Classic.
08:10Yeah.
08:11And chic.
08:12The brow, the eye, and the lip.
08:13You can't go wrong.
08:14I guess I want something really fresh.
08:16Okay.
08:17True Match foundation.
08:18I'll put some on her.
08:19The slim line right in the bed of the lash.
08:21It brings some interest to the eyes.
08:23And this visible lift blush, it literally lifts the appearance of the cheek.
08:27I like it.
08:29So I was thinking some kind of silver to make the eyes.
08:32Okay.
08:33So just a little bit of True Match on the cheek.
08:36I like the shine.
08:37And we should just make the lift go away.
08:39It looks so sharp.
08:40I love it.
08:41It's just really something to get me now is like, it's tomorrow.
08:48Oh my god.
08:49Holy moly.
08:50I've been struggling with this Tide Challenge all day.
09:00I have to get this done.

16:37Two months ago, I was taking care of animals during the day and hostessing at a restaurant
16:46at night.
16:50And now I'm about to show at New York Fashion Week.
16:54It's about to happen.
16:54It's about to go down.
16:55I can't believe this is life for me right now.
16:59Hi.
17:02I have to thank my family and my boyfriend.
17:05They have been my support staff and my rock.
17:08So thank you.
17:09I titled this collection Retro Redux and I hope you guys love it.
17:13Every time that I create something, it's me releasing the creativity in my soul into the
17:39world.
17:39It just makes me very proud.
17:41It's a beautiful environment.
17:46That's the tie, look.
18:09Oh, what a great job.
18:11And it's a beautiful enhancement to the whole collection.
18:12Yes.
18:16Oh, what a great job.
18:46Oh, what a great job.
19:17I'm happy that I have done this work.
19:19It's all come together.
19:21I want to think there's a higher force that's on my team right now.
19:23I hope I can keep it together on that runway.
19:26Oh, f**k.
19:27All right.
19:27I'm Alexandria, and thank you very much for being here, and I hope you enjoy my show.
19:48We'll see you next time.
19:53I think my collection's strong.
20:20The details, the craftsmanship, the cut, the pulse of it is very now.
20:25It's something that girls want to wear.
20:27I can see Heidi in every one of those.
20:29Everything's superbly done.
20:30I'm proud of my work. I'm happy to see that it's so strong.
20:50I'm happy to see that it's so strong.
21:00I'm happy to see that it's so strong.
21:06I'm happy to see that it's so strong.
21:24Showing at New York Fashion Week and winning Project Runway.
21:40This is definitely a dream that I've had for a long time.
21:44It doesn't feel like it's going to get caught.
21:46Does this collection that I have, does it have what it takes to win?
21:54Hello, hello!
21:59My heart is jumping out of my chest right now.
22:02I am so excited to be here.
22:04First of all, I'd like to thank my family, my fiancé.
22:08The first sign of spring is what my inspiration is.
22:11Please enjoy. Thank you.
22:33I think my collection looks fantastic on the runway.
22:37The shiny fabrics are living in the light.
22:41Wow, look at that fabric.
22:43It's fantastic.
22:49This looks wonderful.
22:50You can throw this one in the washing machine.
22:52And it will come out perfectly.
22:55This collection absolutely represents me.
22:58I like different fabrics together.
23:00I like different colors together.
23:02I like really high-end, one-of-a-kind clothes.
23:04I like the red carpet.
23:05It's all in this collection.
23:07I am proud of my work.
23:08I think it's beautiful, and I stand behind it.
23:11It's all in this collection.
23:14I'm inside and this.
23:15It's all in this collection.
23:16I like to embrace the building behind it.
23:20I'm inside the building behind it.
23:21We're making something beautiful to keep us alive.
23:54I like the suit. You meshed my collection.
24:11Love from colors, the structure.
24:14I wanted a martini and a cigarette after seeing half of that. I'm sold.
24:18Braden was my number one. I thought it was very feminine but had an edge at the same time.
24:23It was really representative of the spring. It was very exciting.
24:26I love Justin's overall. The collection was very, very strong.
24:30That unconventional fabric to die for.
24:33Just in love with Alexandria's collection, I would wear every single piece from that line.
24:37The pants were done beautifully. She had hot pants.
24:41She did.
24:42I know that Zach, Heidi and Nina are going to have a really, really tough, tough time.
24:51The winner of Project Runway will receive $150,000 provided by GoBank, the award-winning new bank account made to be used on a mobile phone.
25:03$50,000 of next-generation technology from HP and Intel to help enable their creativity and launch their new business.
25:10A year's supply of resource natural spring water and an all-expense-paid luxurious spa retreat for two to the exotic Maldives.
25:19Courtesy of resource water.
25:21A chance to design and sell an exclusive collection at Belk.
25:25A complete sewing and crafting studio from Brothers Sewing and Embroidery.
25:30A fashion spread in Marie Claire magazine.
25:31A 2014 Lexus IS 350.
25:35A $100,000 fabric allowance from Tide Pods to inspire fashions that truly pop.
25:40And a $50,000 styling contract with L'Oreal Paris.
25:44It is a price package worth over half a million dollars.
25:47The model paired with the winner of Project Runway will receive a fashion spread in Marie Claire magazine and $25,000 from L'Oreal Paris.
25:54Before we begin, this was a great show today.
26:04But as you know, only one of you can be the winner of Project Runway.
26:10All right, before we decide who will be the winner of Project Runway Season 12, we have some questions.
26:15Let's bring out your models.
26:20Justin, please tell us about your inspiration and your collection.
26:23I was born there.
26:25I just like the silence and it was pure and just clean.
26:28And this is actually one of the first looks in the collection to represent that period of time.
26:34And sometimes people call me the bionic man.
26:38Because I have a technology in my head right now, which I could hear.
26:42And that's where all the 3D printing comes in.
26:45I think you presented a beautiful collection.
26:48I think that the shapes have a balance of ease and they're feminine.
26:52I was really thrilled toward the end when there were some more sheer fabrics.
26:57Because I really loved that there was a little bit more diversity in the fabric as the show went on.
27:02Justin, I'm very happy that Tim Gunn brought you back.
27:06And thankfully so, because your collection was very polished.
27:09I love when you explained to us that when you started hearing, you loved the sound of rain.
27:13And that's why you made the unconventional material dress.
27:16Because it has that sound that you love so much.
27:19It did look spectacular on the runway.
27:21Brayden, tell us about your inspiration and your collection.
27:23When I was a kid, I would watch the crocus flower come through a snowbank.
27:27I thought that was just an amazing image.
27:29The juxtaposition of something so delicate against what's frozen and hard.
27:34I loved your inspiration with the crocus.
27:37I feel like the first look that came out, if the skirt had been a white,
27:41you would have gotten that sensation of that pop of color out of the snow.
27:45And it would have appreciated all the handwork that you put into each piece.
27:49I actually like the first look.
27:51You know, it is gutsy to have that shiny material and then put the white around it.
27:55I thought it was different.
27:56Throughout the season, I have admired, out of all the designers,
28:03your incredible laser focus.
28:05That, for me, it was a big surprise to see you be so not focused on this.
28:11When I see this collection, it's disjointed.
28:15We've got too many things going on.
28:17You have ten outfits to tell a story.
28:19And it should be very cohesive.
28:24Dom, tell us about your inspiration and your collection.
28:26It's basically the idea of the future as it was viewed by artists and writers pre-1960s.
28:33It has this very, like, retro Judy Jetson feel to it.
28:38So I designed all the prints in my collection based on that idea.
28:42Well, I thought this was an extremely entertaining show.
28:46Without any words, you told the story.
28:50That's a good show.
28:52I'm very impressed that you do the prints yourself.
28:55They're modern but kind of tribal but also architectural.
29:00They're very unique.
29:01The theme you picked is challenging.
29:04And I think for the most part, you very successfully pulled it off.
29:08My one weak outfit of the show was the bathing suit look.
29:12I wasn't wild about the fit of it or the piece on top.
29:16I mean, bathing suits in a fashion show are usually for the straight dudes.
29:20You know, but it was fun.
29:22And I think it's a nice teaser.
29:24Alexandria, tell us about your inspiration and your collection.
29:27I titled my collection's Neo-Nomadic Punk.
29:32I had such a vision as to what I wanted to present.
29:34This strong warrior-like girl.
29:39I chose very expensive fabrics.
29:41And I strive really hard to create an excellent fit.
29:47Alexandria, I really like your collection.
29:49It looks very young.
29:50It looks very hip.
29:52It looks very now.
29:53I thought it was a really successful runway show.
29:56Your woman has that spice and attitude that you have and that strength.
30:01But she's also vulnerable.
30:03And I think that's a really nice niche juxtaposition that you're playing with.
30:07I thought it was styled very well.
30:12I thought it looked very editorial.
30:14I love the spirit that you have.
30:17I really loved the collection.
30:19I like that it's a lot of separates that I felt like, oh, I could mix and match tons of different pieces from one look to another.
30:26It was exciting for me.
30:28Yeah.
30:29Models, thank you.
30:30You can leave the runway.
30:37Justin, why should you be the winner of Project Runway?
30:42I cannot count how many times I've been walked over because I'm deaf.
30:47And it was just so the people that it is possible.
30:53And I will just point out one thing.
30:55I haven't won one challenge this season.
30:59And so I think this challenge will be the one I would like to win.
31:05That's great.
31:09Tom.
31:09I just feel it in my soul that this is what I need to be doing for the rest of my life.
31:14This is more than just I need money.
31:18This is I need life.
31:21Like, this is my life.
31:22I know that I can take this and turn it into something spectacular.
31:28I mean, you've seen my message.
31:30You know what I'm about as a designer.
31:32And I would really love that opportunity to bring more of that to the table and just keep doing that.
31:40Raiden, why should you be the winner of Project Runway?
31:44I danced for 30 years.
31:48And I had such a passion for that.
31:51And I was so scared that I would never have anything else that I've felt like that about in a career.
32:02And in less than three years, I found it in fashion.
32:07And I'm so excited by that.
32:10And if I take nothing else away from this show,
32:17that will propel me for the rest of my life.
32:30Alexandria.
32:31I'm bankable.
32:33I understand what girls want to wear.
32:35I'm not here to come to number two.
32:40I sacrificed everything.
32:43And I work hard.
32:44I work all day, all night.
32:47I sacrifice everything for what I do.
32:51Because I love it.
32:52It's like air.
32:53It's like breathing.
32:55I know how to run a business.
32:56I know how to run a business.
32:58I do it.
32:58I've got two.
32:59I have built this thing that I have at home from nothing.
33:04From nothing.
33:06And this win is...
33:08I deserve it.
33:10I deserve it.
33:11I'm sorry.
33:13I want it.
33:16It's my turn.
33:18It's my turn.
33:20Thank you, Alexandria.
33:25Okay, we've heard what you had to say.
33:27We're going to take a closer look at your muse looks.
33:30And then we have a very big decision to make.
33:34Designers, you can leave the runway.
33:36What a day, isn't it?
33:47To want something so badly, you know?
33:49They are pretty much determining our bait.
33:55Ah, damn it.
33:57I cannot recall a finale when I have felt so proud of each designer and so confident that it's really anyone's game.
34:05It's true.
34:06It really is true.
34:07It's going to be so tough.
34:09Should we start with Justin?
34:11I think he did a really good job.
34:13The construction is immaculate.
34:15Does this pant have pockets?
34:17It does.
34:18Fabulous.
34:19It's for you, Nina.
34:20It has pockets.
34:21I love the pockets.
34:22It feels like sort of a washed cotton spectacular.
34:24And is the vest attached?
34:26No, it's a separate piece.
34:27Oh, can I see it?
34:28And the back is open completely.
34:30Oh, so...
34:30Can you turn around, please?
34:31It's really elegant.
34:33Isn't that beautiful?
34:36Moving on to Brayden.
34:38I just think he needs more experience, but he definitely has a strong voice.
34:42Some of his designs.
34:44The bow tie jacket with the bustier was beautiful.
34:48Wonderful.
34:48The parachute.
34:49He had some of my favorite items.
34:52Even today, the unconventional materials look that he did with the basket weave.
34:57Beautiful.
34:57That I will not forget.
34:58That should have been the genesis of the collection.
35:03I love what Dom did.
35:05What I love about this, it feels very nap.
35:08I love this plastic jacket that she made over the jumpsuit.
35:13I thought it was awesome.
35:14Beautiful.
35:14I love that she makes her own prance, too.
35:16Well, she comes from this textile background, and now she's exploring it in a designer realm,
35:21and that's phenomenal.
35:25Now let's talk about Alexandria.
35:27I want to see how well it's made, because she was singing her praises on...
35:30The detail.
35:31...construction and the detailing.
35:33Yeah.
35:33It's nice.
35:34It's cleanly finished.
35:35I love this button.
35:36I do, too.
35:37It's over on the side.
35:40The more we're talking about it, don't you feel like we're narrowing it down?
35:44Yes.
35:44Yeah, it's focusing.
35:45I mean, I think our business is done.
35:48Thank you, Tim.
35:49Thank you, ladies.
35:52All right, so we've made our decision.
35:54Absolutely.
35:55That was a big one.
35:57Let's bring them back out.
36:01Designers, we had a really difficult decision.
36:06One of the most difficult ever, in fact.
36:12Justin, we loved your collection.
36:14You took a very personal inspiration and turned out unique clothes and accessories.
36:20And it was really great to see what you could do with a little bit more time.
36:25Tom, you took a huge risk, and it worked.
36:30Your collection was really fresh, original, and playful.
36:36Alexandria, so many women would love to wear your clothes, including us.
36:41Your collection was cool and cohesive.
36:45Brayden, you have won many, many challenges throughout the season.
36:50And today, you showed us some stunning pieces.
36:52And as usual, they were meticulous.
36:56We did feel, though, that the collection was not as focused or cohesive as it should have been.
37:03Brayden,
37:03I'm sorry you're out.
37:08We wish you all the best.
37:11Thank you all for your comments.
37:12It means the world, and I will take it with me.
37:16I feel like I had a really, really strong collection,
37:20and I know that this will not be my last runway show.
37:23I'm sorry you're out.
37:39We're so impressed with your collection,
37:41and I also know that Tim Gunn is proud of you also.
37:44I am forever, forever grateful that I was given this opportunity.
37:52Thank you so much.
37:55Just growing up being a deaf person and having people constantly tell me
38:00that I'm not capable of doing things that I want to do,
38:03that's definitely something that has scarred.
38:07I mean, Plaza One Way has given me this opportunity
38:10so I can prove these people wrong.
38:12This was a really tough decision.
38:32Alexandria, Dom,
38:34one of you will be the winner of Project Runway.
38:42Dom.
38:54Congratulations.
38:55You are the winner of Project Runway.
39:02Alexandria, we really did love your collection,
39:04and we know that we will hear more from you.
39:06In fact, we might be all calling you because we want your clothes.
39:11I feel let down.
39:15Off you guys in.
39:17All the best to you.
39:19I'm happy she won.
39:20She's a good person.
39:22I sincerely mean that.
39:24I try.
39:34I try.
39:35I'm proud of you.
39:37Very proud.
39:39Congratulations, Dom.
39:41You didn't.
39:42Cheers all the time.
39:44All right.
39:45You deserved it.
39:47And your prize is over a half a million bucks.
39:51Oh, yeah.
39:51Oh, yeah, forget about that.
39:54Oh, my God.
39:55Dom, you are so beautiful inside and out.
39:58I've watched you grow in this competition.
40:01I've seen your imagination shine.
40:03Congratulations.
40:05Thank you so much, Seth.
40:07Congratulations, girl.
40:09You were fearless.
40:11You were bold.
40:13You did it.
40:14Dom, I was very honored to be asked to be a guest judge in the finale episode because of the legacy of this show.
40:21I felt equally grateful to be able to be part of your legacy.
40:26We have lots to see from you moving forward.
40:29It's very exciting.
40:32I've never experienced anything remotely even close to this feeling ever in my life.
40:39And seeing my family come out on that runway just...
40:50Yep.
40:51Oh, my God.
40:53I don't know.
40:55I don't know.
40:58I don't know.
40:59I don't know.
40:59Aw.
41:01You deserve it.
41:02No, you cry, too.
41:03You make me cry.
41:04You deserve it.
41:04I don't think we've ever had this many tears on this runway before.
41:08I think I, like, fell asleep a while ago and I'm still dreaming.
41:11It's a huge deal for me.
41:14I mean, I'm poor.
41:16I'm working two jobs, people.
41:18And, I mean, I'm always working.
41:20There's never enough time for me to devote to my craft and what I love to do.
41:25So, for me, this will change everything.
41:28Tim Gunn, come on out.
41:30I'm coming, Heidi.
41:31How thrilling is this?
41:33I know.
41:34How thrilling.
41:35Aw, Dawn.
41:37You have worked so hard.
41:40And you deserve this so much.
41:42Breyana.
41:44Congratulations to you, too.
41:46We worked hard, girl.
41:48When I get home, I'm going to sleep a lot.
41:53And then I'm going to get up and get right to work on my next collection.
41:57Because winning is inspiring.
42:01And they're expecting a lot out of me.
42:03And I'm going to give them a lot.
42:10And I'm going to give them a lot.
