00:06of six-year-old Joshua Francois has begun its work. She spoke with TV6 News a short while ago
00:12following the distribution of land leases to former county workers in San Fernando.
00:18It was a very tragic, heart-rending situation as a mother, grandmother, and she says,
00:23you won't be in it. It is heart-rending. And that's where I immediately when I found and
00:28asked the minister to set up an independent investigative team. That team has started
00:33working. She says the Minister of Health has been providing updates to her on the matter
00:38and suggested what may now have to take place. So far, two autopsies have been done on the child
00:44delivering different results as to what might have caused his death. He told me there were two
00:50post-wortem reports. They will have to mesh the two together, maybe get a third opinion
00:58to come up with what really went wrong. I don't want to pronounce on it until that investigation
01:05is complete.
01:07Young Joshua Francois died while being treated at the San Fernando Teaching Hospital's
01:12pediatric ward last week, Thursday, prompting calls from his parents for justice.
01:19Prime Minister Kamala Pesad Vaisessa says, while it could always be better,
01:23she's pleased with the impact the SOE is having on crime levels nationwide.
01:30It could be better. Things will always be better, but we've done fairly well. The homicide rate,
01:35the murder rate, as I said last time, is down to 34%, if I remember correctly. I think it's
01:40going very well. Very, very well. We assess it daily. I get reports from the
01:46Commissioner of Police, H.A., has followed it to me through the Minister of Homeland Security.
01:50We're looking at numbers. The numbers are trending, definitely trending downwards.
01:54Let's get to this point.
02:02Are you looking at numbers, it needs to get results, so we know the numbers are getting
02:07big, off, and theambiteria accounts for real time.
