I suppose that title isn't entirely true, as Sudoku isn't technically a Luanti game, as it's available in numerous other forms and mediums. All that said this is a pretty neat example of how Luanti can be used for things other than the typical FPS genre.

00:00Welcome back to another Luanti video. Today we are looking at the Sudoku game for Luanti.
00:08So, yeah, here we are. To start with, I'm going to go ahead and clear that.
00:15So we are back to level 1. We have multiple worlds, all up to world 5. World 5 doesn't exist yet.
00:22They get increasingly more and more difficult as you go up levels.
00:29You can see in the left hand side over here, it tells you what level and what world you are at.
00:36It's my understanding that I have to beat level 1 before level 2 becomes available to me.
00:40So here we can see it's level 1.1. We have a 4x4 which is coming soon and killer coming soon.
00:47I don't know when soon is, but yeah, let's jump into it.
00:52So, if you are unfamiliar with the Sudoku game puzzle, whatever you want to call it,
01:00essentially you have 9 squares here, 9 tic-tac-toe boards. I don't know what you want to actually call these.
01:09And each of these needs to have the numbers 1 through 9.
01:12So this one, we have 1, 2, we don't have 3 or 4, we have 5, we don't have 6, 7, but we have 8 and 9.
01:18And then in each row, going across and up and down, so horizontal and vertical,
01:24each number can only appear once and they also need to have the numbers 1 through 9.
01:28So, to start off with, we have one number 8.
01:31So we're going to just find which subsection here does not have a number 8 in it.
01:37So we have an 8 here, we have an 8, we have an 8, there's an 8.
01:40The center one does not have an 8. This one has an 8, that one has an 8, that one has an 8, and that one has an 8.
01:45So we know the 8 needs to go into this center square someplace.
01:48So then we need to look at, well, which rows and which columns have 8.
01:53Well, there's an 8 in this row, and there's an 8 in this middle row.
01:56So it has to be into one of these two.
01:59So then we look at the columns.
02:00Well, we have an 8 in this column, so 8 has to go here.
02:03So we just left-click to place it.
02:06If you decide you place something incorrectly, you can dig it by punching it.
02:10The black ones you cannot change, the red ones are the ones that you have placed, and you can.
02:14So we're going to go to 9 next, and basically we just follow the same process through.
02:19So this box does not have a 9 in it.
02:21So if you look, we have a 9 in this row, we have a 9 in this row.
02:25So it has to go into one of these two spaces.
02:26So which column does not have a 9?
02:29Well, this one does right over there, so it has to go here.
02:32And then we have one more 9, which goes into this square here.
02:37We have a 9 in this column, or a 9 in this row,
02:42and we have a 9 in this row, which it wouldn't fit in two anyway.
02:44So it could be either of these bottom two yet.
02:46So then we look above, there's a 9 there, so the 9 has to go here.
02:50So we pretty much just keep doing this over and over and over.
02:55Now there's a lot of ones.
02:57Let's go with twos next, because we have three of those.
03:00So this one, two can't be in the bottom or top, so it can only fit into the middle.
03:05This one already has a 2, this one does not have a 2.
03:08So the 2 has to go there, because there's a 2 here, so it can't be in this row.
03:13And these columns have a 2 and a 2.
03:16This has a 2 in there.
03:17This one has a 2.
03:18This one has a 2.
03:19This one has a 2.
03:20This one does not.
03:21And this one does.
03:22So I actually only have one 2 left.
03:23Yep.
03:23So this 2 has to go into one of these.
03:26Looks like it's going to be this one.
03:28So we just continue this process on.
03:303, there's no 3 in here, but there's a 3 in the middle here and a 3 in the top, so it
03:34has to be one of the two on the bottom.
03:37So it could be there, or it could be there.
03:39Looks like it won't let you place it into both.
03:46Sometimes in some different Sudoku games, they'll let you put it temporary in where you think
03:52it could be.
03:54But it's not permanent.
03:55We don't really get that option here.
03:57So I need to put a 3 in here as well, which is either going to be here or here, because
04:07I have a 3 here, so it can't be in the center.
04:10So it has to be one of these two.
04:12I know the 3 up top needs to go into one of these two, so it needs to be in the opposite
04:16one of these, but I don't know which that is necessarily going to be just yet.
04:22So let's move on.
04:24This one needs a 3 as well.
04:26So the 3 can't be in either of these two, so it has to be in one of these two.
04:32The bottom one also doesn't have a 3.
04:35Well, the bottom one and the 3 has to go in the middle.
04:38We know that.
04:39So we can't put a 3 in the center on this.
04:42And the 3 can't go up top, so it has to be on one of these sides.
04:48So it has to go here, because there's a 3 here.
04:50So that's pretty simple, which then means this 3 has to go here, which would then mean this
04:593 has to go here.
05:02So that is our 3s solved.
05:05Going on to the 4s.
05:07Looks like this top square does not have a 4, but it can't be in the middle.
05:11It can't be in the top because there's a 4 there, so that means it has to go here.
05:14That has a 4.
05:15This one does not have a 4 in it.
05:18It can't be in the top because there's a 4 there.
05:21It could be either of these middle 2, however, because there's no 4 in either of those.
05:25However, if we look here, we have a 4, which means our 4 has to go into this, which would
05:31then mean our 4 here has to go here.
05:385.
05:39Well, let's go up to 7s because we only have 4 of those.
05:42Well, actually, we could complete this one.
05:43We have 1, 2, 3, 4.
05:46It looks like 5 needs to go in the middle.
05:485, 6, 7, 8, 9.
05:51So that's easy enough.
05:53This one looks like we need a 1 in it someplace, which could be either, so I can't necessarily
06:01solve that.
06:02So let's go back to 7.
06:03A 7 right now could go in either of these two, so that's not overly helpful to us.
06:14We have a 7 in the center there, 7 in the bottom here, so 7 could go in either of these
06:20two.
06:21So still not overly helpful.
06:23We do know 7 has to go up top here.
06:25Oh, wait, 7's already in that one.
06:28Never mind.
06:29So we know 7 has to go up top here, which means 7 cannot go in those, which it doesn't, so
06:35that's good.
06:36That also means, what number's missing there?
06:386?
06:401, 2, 3, 4, 5.
06:42Yeah, there's no 6.
06:42We can put the 6 there.
06:43So then this one, the 6 has to go up top.
06:48So then 1 must go in the center.
06:58Okay.
06:591, 2, 3, 4.
07:01I don't have a 5 in this one yet.
07:065 appears to be either of these bottom two.
07:11Nope, it has to be this one.
07:135, so then 6.
07:15I don't have a 6 in there yet.
07:18Could it be in the top right?
07:19It could not be in the top right, so it has to be this one, which would mean this one has
07:24to be 1.
07:26Which if that has to be 1, that means 1 has to be here, which would mean 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,
07:366, so 7 would have to go there, which would mean this one needs what?
07:44What's missing?
07:467.
07:46So 7 would have to go here, which then 1, 2, I don't have a 3 in this one.
07:52No, I do.
07:521, 2, 3, 4, 5.
07:54So 6 must go here.
07:58Okay.
07:58Okay.
07:58The more you solve, the easier it gets.
08:00So I have 1, 6 left.
08:04So which square is missing the 6?
08:05It looks like this one doesn't have a 6.
08:07Could it go on the bottom?
08:09It could go on the bottom left.
08:11It cannot go there.
08:14Oh, actually, it can't go on the top at all because there's a 6 here, so it has to go here.
08:18So we're done with 6s.
08:19I only have one 7.
08:20Where is a box without a 7?
08:23This one doesn't have a 7 in it.
08:26Okay.
08:26So 7 can't go up top.
08:287 can't go on bottom, so 7 has to go center.
08:32So let's solve for 1.
08:351 could go in either of these two still.
08:41So that's not too helpful.
08:43This one's still waiting on a 1, which can't go in the middle, so it has to go there.
08:46Which means this one has to go here, which then means 5 must go there.
08:52This one is missing a 5.
08:53That's our only open spot left, so it has to go there.
08:58There's a 1 here, so that means it has to be the 5, and this should be the 1.
09:02Level completed.
09:06I'm guessing it's just done.
09:07So then if we punch this, we can now go to level 2.
09:10Woo-hoo!
09:11And I assume if we go back to level 1, we lose the progress.
09:14Yeah.
09:15But that's okay, because we solved level 1.
09:17Or level 1.
09:18Now we go to level 2.
09:19And essentially it does the same thing over and over and over.
09:22And it gives you all of the squares you need.
09:27Now we can go to the higher level.
09:32Yeah.
09:33And this looks quite difficult, and my Sudoku skills are not that good.
09:36I used to play it quite a bit on breaks at work, because it was kind of fun when I had a nap for it.
09:43You know, it was a good little mind game to play.
09:48But yeah, this is a little beyond my league, to be quite honest.
09:56I wouldn't even know where to start.
09:59I mean, I guess the center one would probably be our best bet to start at, because that's where we have most of the numbers solved.
10:06So, here, no, well, never mind.
10:11I take that back, because we have 9, 2, 3 here.
10:16And I have a 3 here, so 3 can't be...
10:20Well, actually, that means 3 could only be here.
10:22So actually, that is a handy bit to know.
10:262.
10:27I needed 2 here.
10:292 can't be in the center.
10:30But that's really all I know.
10:32So 2 could be either of these.
10:35I have the 3.
10:374.
10:38Is there a 4 in any of this?
10:40No, there's no 4s available, other than here and here.
10:45Which doesn't really help me.
10:475.
10:48Well, I know 5 can't be in the bottom.
10:50But that's kind of it that I know that 5 can't be, because it could be either of these.
10:54So that doesn't help.
10:556.
10:55Well, I know 6 can't be there.
10:58So 6 must be here.
11:007 already in there.
11:028, 9.
11:02Okay, so let me go back to 1.
11:051 can't be in the bottom row, so it could be either of these top.
11:09Oh, 1's already in.
11:09Never mind.
11:102.
11:13Well, I haven't solved anything for 2, so that doesn't help.
11:163 I already have in there.
11:174.
11:19I still have no idea on 4, because there's nothing with 4.
11:265 can't be in the bottom, so it could be either of the top.
11:30I still don't have enough information to be able to solve that.
11:336 is already in there.
11:367, 8.
11:36Yeah.
11:37So one of these has to be 5, but I don't know which.
11:43And I don't particularly know...
11:45Are there more than one solution?
11:50Is there more than one solution to a Sudoku puzzle?
11:52I don't know.
11:54Honestly, I have no idea.
11:56I feel like there's probably only one right answer, to be perfectly honest.
12:07But somebody could fact-check me on that if they really cared.
12:09Or if you just know Sudoku well enough, you could...
12:15Yeah, so long-term Sudoku player here, and there is only one correct solution per puzzle.
12:20So, I'm assuming there only is.
12:23That would kind of just only make sense.
12:26But yeah, that is the Sudoku game for Luanti.
12:30You know, just kind of something a little bit different than the normal, you know, voxel world type game.
12:36You know, it's in a voxel enclosure here.
12:39But, you know, this is not your standard...
12:43Oh, I didn't even realize this!
12:46I have fly!
12:47I could have been up in the center the whole time.
12:51I didn't have to be standing on the ground.
12:53Not that that really matters, because I could still reach everything just fine.
12:57Well, that changes everything.
13:00It really doesn't.
13:02But yeah, I could have just been doing all of this like this.
13:05Oh, my.
13:07It's a game-changer.
13:08It's a game-changer.
13:11It's not.
13:12But it is good to know.
13:14I suppose I could probably turn that all off.
13:17Yeah, if you didn't like moving fast, you can obviously turn that off.
13:21But yeah, there we go.
13:23That is Sudoku for Luanti.
