00:00Hello there, good afternoon. It's a fine day out there for many of us. We've got some warm
00:04spells of sunshine in places too, but we do have Storm Floris on the way on Monday. So
00:08a warning is already in place for very strong winds for Monday, mainly in northern parts of
00:14the UK, but some disruption is potentially on the way. So do stay tuned to the forecasts.
00:19A very powerful jet stream at the moment moving across the Atlantic, and it's as Storm Floris
00:24moves across the jet stream and onto the northern side of the jet stream that we could see it
00:28rapidly deepen through Sunday night and into Monday as it approaches the UK. So as I say,
00:34some disruptive winds are quite likely across Scotland, northern Ireland, and potentially
00:38northern England too. But back to Saturday afternoon, and it's a fine picture out there.
00:42It's not necessarily wall-to-wall sunshine for many. There is quite a lot of cloud across England and
00:47Wales, but there is some sunny breaks too. The best of sunshine this afternoon probably across parts
00:51of Scotland, northern England, and western fringes of Wales and the southwest too. But even here,
00:57temperatures are higher than yesterday, so feeling pleasantly warm in that sunshine with much lighter
01:02winds. Temperatures ranging from around 19 degrees to 23 or 24 in the south. So as I say,
01:08a nice pleasant summer's afternoon to come. But out towards the west, notice this thicker cloud
01:13pushing into northern Ireland, and also some outbreaks of rain. So it is going to be turning
01:17more unsettled through this evening overnight for parts of Scotland and northern Ireland. Some heavy
01:21outbreaks of rain in places too, and that band of rain and thicker cloud pushing slowly southeast
01:26was into England and Wales by the end of the night too. It will stay pretty humid in the west tonight,
01:31with some low cloud mist and fog developing around Irish Sea coast and over the higher ground. So
01:36temperatures here not falling below 16 or 17 degrees, so much, much milder than last night.
01:42A little bit cooler down towards the south and the east, where skies stay clear. But even here,
01:46temperatures probably holding up in double figures, even in the countryside.
01:49So it's the southeast of the UK that will enjoy the best of the bright and sunny weather first thing
01:55on Sunday morning. Do make the most of the sunshine, probably starting to cloud over a little bit
01:59as we go through the course of the day. Outbreaks of rain elsewhere pushing their way south and
02:03eastwards. Still the odd heavier bursts here and there, but some places staying mostly dry.
02:08And then brighter skies with plenty of sunny spells following along to many northern and central parts
02:13of the UK through the afternoon. There will be one or two showers perhaps in that brisk westy flow,
02:19perhaps most likely across eastern parts of Scotland and a few heavy showers also for northeast
02:24England too. And I wouldn't entirely rule out the odd rumble of thunder with these as well.
02:28Now with that breeze, it will start to turn a bit fresher across the north, but still pleasantly
02:32warm in the sunshine and temperatures around average for the time of year. Down across the south
02:37though, staying pretty humid and temperatures here in the low to mid-twenties.
02:42So still a few dribs and drabs of rain and drizzle across the far south on Sunday evening,
02:47but most places having a drier and clearer interlude for a time. It's not going to last
02:52though. Out towards the west, we have got storm florists moving in and we have this yellow
02:56warning already in place for Monday and into Tuesday morning as well. So some very strong
03:01winds on the way, especially across northern parts of the UK. Quite unseasonably strong winds
03:05for early August. We're expecting some large waves, some potential power interruptions due to
03:10falling trees and certainly some disruptions. So do please stay tuned to the forecast. Check our app
03:16and our website for the latest on the warnings. So in terms of those strongest winds, this is what
03:22we're expecting as we go through the day on Monday. So storm florists rapidly deepens, bring some strong
03:27winds to Northern Ireland, but especially across western parts of Scotland and northern Scotland.
03:31We could even see gusts up to 85 miles per hour in exposed spots. So that's pretty unusual for
03:37the middle of summer. As I say, lots of warnings expected. So do stay tuned to the forecast. Check
03:43the app and the website. But that's everything from me and I'll see you again very soon.
