03:39It was Christmas on the island of Sodor. All the engines were working hard. Thomas and Toby were busy carrying people and parcels up and down the branch line. Everyone was happy. Only the coaches, Annie and Clarabel, were complaining. It's always the same before Christmas, they groan. We feel so full. We feel so full.
04:03Oh, come on, said Thomas. Where's your festive spirit? Christmas Day is almost here.
04:09By the side of the track was a lonely little cottage with a familiar figure waving to them. It's Mrs. Kindly, whistled Thomas. Peep, peep, happy Christmas.
04:20Thomas always felt better for seeing her. Christmas just wouldn't be Christmas without Mrs. Kindly.
04:27When work was over, Thomas went to see the other engines. All their coats had been polished.
04:35Huff, said Gordon. Just look at us. Your driver will have to work fast to get you as smart as us.
04:41Never mind that, replied Thomas. I've something important to say. Do you realize it's a whole year since Mrs. Kindly saved us from a nasty accident?
04:54You remember when she was ill in bed and... Yes, of course, interrupted Edward. You told us how she waved her red dressing gown out of her window to warn you about a landslide ahead.
05:05And you and Toby gave her presents. Percy joined in, and Sir Topham Hatt sent her to Bournemouth to get better.
05:12But, said James and Henry together, the rest of us have never thanked her properly.
05:18Exactly, said Thomas. So now I think we should all give her a special Christmas party.
05:24Everyone was getting very excited. The drivers felt sure that Sir Topham Hatt would agree. As indeed he did.
05:31The engines were all busy making plans, when silence fell.
05:37Sir Topham Hatt had bad news.
05:41The weather's changed badly. Mrs. Kindly has snowed up.
05:45Toby says he'll help to rescue her. You must help too, Thomas. There's no party unless you do.
05:51Thomas hated snow, but he said bravely,
05:53I'll try, sir. We must rescue her. We must.
05:57There's a good engine. You and Toby will manage splendidly.
06:01Thomas charged the snowdrifts fiercely. Sometimes he swept them aside.
06:07Sometimes they stuck fast, and the men had to loosen them.
06:10But at the cutting near the cottage, they could go no further.
06:23Look at that, exclaimed Thomas' fireman.
06:27Peep, peep, peep. Here we are, whistled Thomas.
06:30An answering wave came from an upstairs window.
06:33Then they heard a familiar sound.
06:37That's Terrence, said Thomas. He's come to help too.
06:41Sure enough, Terrence had a snowplow,
06:44and was working hard to clear a path to the railway line in safety.
06:47At long last, the rescue was completed.
06:54Percy took the tired workman home.
06:56Terrence said goodbye to Mrs. Kindly,
06:59and promised to take care of her cottage as he watched them all set off.
07:02The engines made good time.
07:08No more snow had fallen, but the yard was dark.
07:12Thomas' heart sank.
07:16Suddenly, all the lights went on.
07:18What a marvelous sight awaited Mrs. Kindly.
07:21Well done, said Sir Topham Hatt.
07:25I'm really proud of you all.
07:27Mrs. Kindly especially thanked the smaller engines.
07:30Thomas and Toby are all friends, she said.
07:32And now, Percy, you are my friend, too.
07:36Percy was very pleased.
07:37Three cheers for Mrs. Kindly, he called.
07:40Peep, peep, peep.
07:41They all whistled.
07:42We wish you a merry Christmas.
07:48We wish you a merry Christmas.
07:50We wish you a merry Christmas.
07:52And a happy new year.
07:55Thomas, the tank engine, and his friends
07:57thought it was the best Christmas ever.
08:00And Mrs. Kindly could think of no way she would rather live
08:03than here with them on the island of Sodor.
08:06No way she would rather live than here with them on the island of Sodor.
08:36It was two days before Christmas.
08:40Many children were expected on the island of Sodor.
08:44All the engines were busy with the final preparations.
09:01Our Christmas tree has arrived just in time.
09:04I want you to fetch it, Thomas.
09:06Duck can look after Annie and Clarebo until you get back.
09:10Will we be able to sing carols, too, asked Thomas.
09:14We'll see.
09:16It would be nice to sing carols again, sighed Thomas,
09:20as he set off on his important mission.
09:22Thomas collected the tree safely, but a large snowdrift lay ahead.
09:36I mustn't be late, he thought.
09:45Whistling bravely, Thomas tried to move, but he couldn't.
09:48There was worse to come.
09:52Poor Thomas was snowed under.
09:57Meanwhile, the other engines waited and waited.
10:01They were grumbling about Thomas for being late.
10:05Silence!
10:06Thomas left the work safely, but snow has brought the telephone lines down.
10:13We must assume he is stranded.
10:17The engines now felt sorry for Thomas,
10:19and cold but confident.
10:21The twins set off to the rescue.
10:24Suddenly, they came to a drift that was deeper than the rest.
10:40Hush, said Donald.
10:47I can hear something.
10:49Probably the wind, said Douglas.
10:51Help!
10:53No, listen, insisted Donald.
10:56Over here.
10:58Look, it's Thomas.
11:00Come on, the poor wee engine must be frozen to the frames in there.
11:04When the workmen arrived, it took some time to decide
11:10how to dig away the heavy drifts of snow.
11:12Thomas' driver and fireman,
11:14who had taken shelter at a nearby cottage,
11:17joined the rescue.
11:18At last, Thomas and the precious Christmas tree
11:22were freed from the snowdrift.
11:30Then they set off once more
11:32to finish their long journey.
11:53As a reward for all your hard work,
11:56you may go and enjoy the carols.
11:59Be quick now.
12:02At the big station, all was soon ready.
12:08One, two, three.
12:11Suddenly, like magic,
12:14the station was flooded with lights.
12:16Ladies, gentlemen, and children,
12:19I give you three cheers for
12:21Thomas the Tank Engine
12:22and all his friends
12:24who have made this occasion possible.
12:28Suddenly, there was a strange wearing sound.
12:31Percy and Toby smiled.
12:32Percy and Toby smiled.
12:33They knew who it was.
12:38With landing lights shining dry,
12:40Harold the helicopter
12:42touched down gently in the snow.
12:47Bringing the greatest surprise of all,
12:50all the Christmas.
12:52Everyone cheered,
12:54and the party began.
12:55It's no fun getting stuck in the snow,
12:59whispered Thomas to Percy,
13:00but it was worth it for this party.
13:03Happy Christmas, Percy.
13:05Happy Christmas, everyone.
13:07Happy Christmas, everyone.
13:20Happy Christmas, everybody.
13:21Bye.
13:22Ciao.
13:31Bye.
13:32Bye.
13:33Bye.
13:33Bye.
13:34Bye.
13:34Bye.
13:34Bye.
13:34Bye.
13:34Bye.
13:35Bye.
13:35Bye.
13:36Listen, that sounds like the ice cream shop.
13:54It does!
13:55Oh, boy!
14:00Where is it?
14:02That's funny. It sounded like it was right outside.
14:06That sounds like a garbage truck. You're right.
14:14And it sounds like it's coming from over there.
14:20Julie!
14:23How did you do that?
14:25I use my cassette bar to record sounds in the neighborhood.
14:28Pretty neat, huh?
14:29You sure fooled us.
14:31There are all kinds of sounds on here.
14:33Would you like to hear some more?
14:34Sure, gosh.
14:35Sure.
14:36Oh.
14:41Does anybody know what that is?
14:48That sounds like a saw.
14:50Right. That's my grandfather's long wood.
14:56That's a bouncing ball.
14:58You guessed it. It's my neighbor playing basketball.
15:00What was that?
15:09The sound of a newspaper being thrown into our front yard.
15:12Huh?
15:18That's not a newspaper.
15:20He recorded that whistle.
15:22That sounds like Barney.
15:33Oh, you're right, Jason.
15:36Hi!
15:37Hey, everybody.
15:39Oh, boy.
15:40Sounds like you're all having fun.
15:52All right.
15:53Hmm.
15:53Have a good time.
15:53Oh, my God.
15:58How do you do that?
15:58Yeah.
16:03Oh, man.
16:07Okay.
16:08Oh, boy.
16:08Yeah.
16:09Oh, boy.
16:10Oh, boy.
16:10Okay.
16:11Oh, boy.
16:11Oh, boy.
16:12Oh, boy.
16:13Oh, boy.
16:14Oh, boy.
16:14Oh, boy.
43:46You crawl under smoke.
44:16You really have to move.
45:46Bye.
46:16Hey, there's the fire.
47:46Good.
48:46Here.
50:46We're here.
53:46I love you.
