00:00Major League Baseball is back post all-star break we are on to our second set of the second half but basically every team approaching or at more than 100 games of 162 so DRS every game now adds on this additional wrinkle of importance for playoff races and for divisional races as well.
00:22And of course even beyond that trying to occupy the top two spots in a league to earn the opening round by if you believe in rest versus rust in the idea of a sport that is played each and every day.
00:36Donnie yesterday the LA Dodgers picked up a 5-2 victory at home Shohei Otani hit a two-run shot after he was pitching in a game for his 35th homer of the year.
00:46Will Smith an all-star catcher for the National League multiple home run game Andy Pah has poured it on with a solo shot as well good for LA to pick up a victory their first in the second half where they were swept by the Brewers over the weekend and prior to the all-star break also swept by Milwaukee.
01:05They had been riding a seven-game losing skid entering Saturday their penultimate game of the opening half it was the longest losing streak for LA since 2017 so fair to say that baseball's best team and still the very short NL pennant and World Series favorites not playing their best baseball in the last two and a half weeks around the all-star break and yet the Dodgers maintain a three and a half game lead to win the National League West a division.
01:32They have won 12 of the previous 13 MLB season here are the records right now in the odds dating back to bet MGM for where things stand right now around the National League West minus 2000 still the price on the LA Dodgers the Padres second best record three and a half games back 13 to one the Giants are riding a six-game skid.
01:56They are 14 to one and now seven games back of LA Dodgers not playing great nobody really giving Los Angeles all that much of a chase so Donnie the question to you in this big picture conversation are the Dodgers in any real danger of not winning the National League West for a 13th time in the last 14 years?
02:16I don't think so and the odds are certainly reflecting that you have a three and a half game lead with two months and change left in the season and you're being priced at a minus 2000 price and it's not as if it said the Chicago White Sox and the Colorado Rockies on your tail 15 games behind it's like oh we got this clear like you have a pretty good Padres team here a Giants team that's really struggling right now but an Arizona Diamondbacks team that's talented as well and also the Diamondbacks looking to possibly sell the Giants even though the three games above 500 they've all six games in a row
02:46competition is coming from the Padres which we did that you know at the All-Star break take a look I really like the Padres in the second half I just want the Padres to make a move get that pitching staff healthy and I think they can tangle with the Dodgers but also understanding this which I've stated Ben since day number one of the Major League Baseball season don't judge the Los Angeles Dodgers where they're at in April May or June judge them after the trade deadline and as I talked about like teams like the Yankees and the Phillies right now who's going to make that move that really puts that catapult
03:14into the final stretch of the Major League Baseball season if the Dodgers had an 11 game lead right now even as injured as they are technically in their lineup and the guys aren't playing that well they probably just ride it out get a bullpen arm and see what they can do but the fact that the Dodgers are struggling right now and we know endless pockets and endless talent in the minor league system that might spur them to say oh yeah we really weren't looking now let's go out and get Eugenio Suarez and the best pitcher and the best bullpen guy and let's really start to sort of cave in the rest of the NL
03:44down the stretch that's what I'm actually worried about I do think the Padres will push them but you see that price point at minus 2,000 how much can they actually push and also if the Dodgers are down to one and a half game lead over the next two weeks before the trade deadline let's just say a week and a half who do they pull the trigger on and then get healthy with and say okay our starting pitchers are coming back Otani's now pitching five innings Muncy's back in the lineup and we added Eugenio Suarez and another bat like Steven Kwanter you know what we were able to get class A away from the Guardians here just to throw in the back end that bullpen
04:14the Dodgers can do that yeah they absolutely can DRS are we 100% sure the Dodgers are going to win the National League West I'd say maybe not 100 but 99% yeah right something that is very close to 100 in those odds there at minus 2,000 for LA to ultimately get the job done despite some struggles in the last two weeks I agree with the Padres have won seven of their last 10 they beat the fish last night two to one the Padres have not lost a series
04:43in four consecutive dating back to their first of July against the Philadelphia Phillies San Diego is making a push they are getting healthier certainly in their starting staff as you bring back you Darvish as well but ultimately Donnie I do believe the Dodgers are going to win this division and I do believe the Dodgers will even have one of the two best records at the end of it all in the National League to earn that opening round by what is even more fascinating perhaps beyond the NL West race is
05:13Milwaukee Brewers who have Milwaukee Brewers who have Milwaukee Brewers who have won 10 consecutive games and are the first National League team to get to 60 wins as well they have that game advantage in the National League Central and if you were to look now DRS at those odds to earn an opening round by in the NL those top two spots the Dodgers still despite all of that minus 600 to have one of those top two spots even the Cubbies despite trailing the Brewers by a game
05:42in their own division a plus 120 have a better price than Milwaukee a plus 210 to earn one of those two spots in an opening round by
05:50it's interesting now like you take a look at the Phillies and the Mets and the NL East battling for that top spot you know the Milwaukee Brewers and the Cubs battling for that top spot and then you take a look at the Dodgers and the Padres battling that top spot here nobody's running away with it like some teams there in the American League it's like a double digit lead let's get comfortable which again spurns activities at the deadline you think the New York Mets want to get outbid by the Philadelphia Phillies on a lead reliever?
06:12no they don't that price point just went higher same thing with the Brewers and the Cubs hey here the Brewers are in on this guy and the Cubs go well wait a second let's drive that price up same thing with the Dodgers even if the Padres can't catch the Dodgers and the Dodgers want to go out for a closer and the Padres go even though we have three all-stars in our bullpen we want to add a fourth if nothing just to drive the price up on the competitor so you can actually say you know what we didn't really want that guy but we forced you to give up a prospect and then we bowed out of the race it is what it is it's fun to watch these you know sort of
06:42collisions that are going to happen over the next week and a half which will determine a lot but these teams fighting for spots here are going for the same players in a very small player pool this season and we'll see how that one works out
06:53so obviously the odds makers are concerned right about the Dodgers in this downtrend of play yeah nope they're still plus 125 to win the National League pennant they're still plus 230 to win a World Series shorter now than even before the year and still a third of everybody else in terms of that price to win a World Series championship for a second straight year
07:16AL rookie of the year in our favorite city next we welcome you back to this Tuesday live right here on the early line on Sports Grid DRS as we examine some big picture questions around Major League Baseball it's time to take a peek at the American League Rookie of the Year odds you and I have campaigned for two members of our favorite MLB team the Athletics to really be in a two-player race to win AL Rookie of the Year not Cam Smith of the
07:45Houston Astros no disrespect Cam but two guys playing in our favorite city in Sacramento for the Athletics the All-Star starter at short Jacob Wilson and Nick Kurtz of the A's as well DRS they are embattled in this rookie of the year race Jacob Wilson was the even money favorite at the All-Star break now it is his teammate Nick Kurtz at a minus 150 price to win AL Rookie of the Year
08:15here are the stats for both of these strong rooks this season for the A's a 318 average for Jacob Wilson 10 homers 44 RBIs the place even improving on Kurtz today now minus 150 19 homers including a shot yesterday and 49 RBIs Nick Kurtz and Jacob Wilson DRS who should be AL Rookie of the Year favorite
08:42yeah taking a look here I'm just trying to take a look at Kurtz it looks like he's played uh 62 games now for this season so obviously didn't come on and didn't start day number one but power numbers always went out it's what they do like we're not saying like Jacob Wilson isn't a good player he started in the All-Star games hitting over 300 he has 10 bombs himself as a shortstop but 19 home runs by Kurtz in the 62 games like what is this guy gonna finish with like not starting the season
09:1225 home runs that's impressive that's why he's in the lead the same way we look at Major League Baseball across the board like the Louie Arise is like yeah we love it when the guy hits 315 320 winning a season right but that's not what gets you paid like Louie Arise hitting 320 doesn't get you 50 million dollars a year or 35 million dollars a year you know what does hitting 50 bombs the power stroke always wins out and that's what you're seeing right now from Kurtz
09:42but for me right now I agree with the odds maker Kurtz hitting 19 home runs compared to 10 and not being up the entirety of the season he's gonna get the nod from me in this rookie of the year race
09:5262 games DRS 252 played appearances 221 technical at bats for Kurtz who was the fourth overall pick last summer in 2024 part of the outstanding 2024 draft class that has already made plenty of MLB debuts just a year after so 19 home runs in 221 total ABS basically a home run every 10 plate appearances for this guy
10:22that is absolutely remarkable in your first year in Major League Baseball and that's no knock against our other guy in terms of what Jacob Wilson is doing this year he was the all-star starter at shortstop a glorified position of course in Major League Baseball that 318 average is fourth best in all of the bigs third best in the American League he is also deserving of this consideration but I do believe in what you are saying
10:52DRS Nick Kurtz and the long ball probably win the day the minus 150 place if he continues even on half of this torrid pace is going to deliver him the award
11:04yeah by the way Kurtz from Lancaster PA we know some people out in Lancaster PA they're from Manheim
11:10called Lancaster an east coaster over here having some fun here on the west coast at this point but the fact of the matter is like
11:18hey look at all this talent for the athletics still like last place in the division no hope for the future
11:23minor league baseball stadium will they ever make it to Vegas at this point so he's having fun certainly with
11:29his major league baseball debut this year but fun times here fun ballpark fun lineup just not fun in the
11:35win column right now for the A's 42 and 60 DRS they got beat yesterday 7-2 on the road in Arlington
11:43against the Rangers yep second worst record in the American League and that's one of the things right
11:49it's like you've got Jacob Wilson and Nick Kurtz you've also got Larry Butler who made a great home
11:55run Rob in center field yesterday for the athletics you got three of the best young players in baseball
12:01in the American League is Mason Miller still throwing do they need a guy even a close out game they've got so
12:07much young talent for this athletic side and yet you do wonder when it just implodes if it's not
12:14already imploding in front of our very eyes will Kurtz Wilson and Butler be on the squad when they head
12:20to Vegas in a few years we're not entirely sure but we'll continue to put down for Sactown and promote
12:27everything here for Sacramento Athletics Kings and otherwise on the early line hour number three next here on TEL
12:36the hottest team in Major League Baseball is now the best team in Major League Baseball that's the
12:43Milwaukee Brewers they have won 11 consecutive games and they are the first team in the National League
12:49to reach 60 wins 60 and 40 the official record for the brew crew that is one fewer loss than the
12:56Detroit Tigers the other team at 60 wins already this year that means the Brewers have the best record
13:02in all of the bigs 11 straight wins hoping for 12 in a row the Brewers on the road tonight in Seattle
13:10and who do you turn to the all-star and the rookie Big Miz Jacob Mizorowski gets the start today for the
13:18brew crew against Logan Gilbert on the other side for the Mariners really good pitching matchup DRS
13:23reflected in the total it's just six and a half now live and the fact the M's are still a favorite
13:30at minus 126 yesterday Milwaukee an ever so slight favorite with Brandon Woodruff on the bump for the
13:38brew crew today a slight underdog and looking for their 12th consecutive victory will the wind streak
13:43continue for Milwaukee in the Northwest yeah last 60 days we take a look at Logan Gilbert and Jacob
13:49Mizorowski very good 2.95 x fit for Gilbert Mizorowski's got a 3.14 so you saw yesterday
13:55hey one team scored six runs that's an easy over no it wasn't the other team scored zero runs yesterday
14:00and that was the Mariners my expectation is yeah you probably will get six or less runs in this game
14:06it is hard from an iframe to bet that because you just break it down so okay each team gets three
14:10automatically lost at that point and one team did get six yesterday so maybe if another team today just
14:15gets one run on top of the six that hits that total but it does play into an under there's no
14:20doubt about it the one thing with Logan Gilbert struggling a little bit with right-handed bats
14:23over the past 53 batters he's faced but on the season that hasn't been an issue and Mizorowski's
14:28still making his way through he hasn't faced the Seattle Mariners yet so they haven't seen him
14:32he does struggle as a right-handed pitcher with left-handed bats you take a look at that left-handed
14:36bat in the roundup Cal Raleigh but how about this Raleigh over the past 30 days against right-handed
14:41pitching a 123 ISO and a 280 weighted on base percentage hasn't worked out in his favor a
14:46Rosarana Polanco and Canzone have really good numbers against right-handed pitching but it's
14:50a tough ballpark to hit in it's two good baseball teams that don't really have exciting players at
14:55the plate outside of let's just say a Christian Yelich and a Cal Raleigh just told you Cal Raleigh's
15:00not having a great season or last 30 days I should say against right-handed pitching I think this game
15:04stays under the total I will say though sooner than later these streaks have to come to an end we're
15:08just riding on top of it I'm gonna say to myself yeah give me Seattle today again once again minus
15:13124 I'll take that price but a lean also on that under six and a half tough game to handicap with
15:18those low numbers Big Miz made a lot of headlines DRS by being named a National League All-Star but I
15:25thought the young rookie for Milwaukee handled it well hey they're not mad at me I wasn't the guy that
15:31held out Christopher Sanchez it wasn't my choice to be put in this spot he has been great during his
15:37rookie season this is his sixth career start that was one of the issues people had trouble with
15:43making him an All-Star we expect him to be really good today on the bump against Seattle as for Big
15:50Dumper still the MLB leader in terms of home runs no homers for Cal Raleigh in his last seven games no
15:58homers since returning from the All-Star break as well the Mariners lost last night to Milwaukee
16:03six zip because of it the Brewers now have a game lead in the National League Central in front
16:09of the Cubbies Houston snapped Arizona's four-game win streak yesterday in the desert the Astros back
16:15to a five-game advantage atop the American League West the rookie and the vet today in a crucial
16:21divisional duel this week in Toronto we head up to the six it is Max Scherzer 40 years old year
16:28number 18 making start 463 in his career against the Yankees Cam Schlittler who gets out there for
16:37career start number two the 24 year old rookie for New York the Blue Jays at ever so slight home
16:44favorite DRS looking to win yet another game against the Yankees and maybe extend that divisional lead
16:51to five games in front of the pinstripes yeah you need a win for the Yankees at all costs and you're
16:56going to a guy that doesn't have very much Major League Baseball experience going up against
16:59Max Scherzer but also this isn't the Max Scherzer of a decade ago he is certainly hittable and you
17:04take a look at that number as a nine say boy it takes 10 runs to get that last night we only saw
17:08five total runs only run scored by the Yankees yesterday was a solo blast by Giancarlo Stanton
17:12but there's 18 batters anticipated to play in this game tonight as always right you look at Ernie
17:18Clement his weighted on base percentage is 248 every single other player in that lineup today for the
17:24Toronto Blue Jays is sky high on the weighted on base percentages against right-handed pitching
17:28which Schlittler is a right-handed pitcher let's just go over quickly to the New York Yankees and
17:32take a look at them going up against right-handed pitching if we remove Anthony Volpe's 197 weighted
17:38on base percentage everybody else sky high weighted on base percentages Ben so 16 out of the 18 batters
17:45sky high two pitchers that are questionable to me we should get double digit runs today if we're just
17:50reading this game correctly yesterday a little bit low scoring for one the victory for the Jays
17:57plenty more around the double that up a full slate Tuesday around Major League Baseball continues here
18:03on the early line yesterday DRS in the opener payment week set at the bank between the Phillies
18:09and the Red Sox Philadelphia booked is greater than a two dollar favorite was Zach Wheeler one of the
18:14NL Cy Young co-favorites on the bump today nearly a two dollar favorite as Christopher Sanchez makes the
18:21start for Philadelphia Christopher Sanchez since the start of June eight starts 55 and a third innings
18:29pitched 52 case four and one record 163 ERA he has gone at least six innings in all eight of those
18:38outings wonderful research there from our producer extraordinaire Joe Friso minus 198 price in favor of
18:45the fighters the over understands at eight and a half the Phillies won yesterday in 10 innings
18:52based on catchers interference will it be another close call tonight it will be another close call
18:59because you take a look at the pitching mismatch you on Christopher Sanchez has been wonderful you just
19:02take a look at his starts over the past what let's just go 30 days just to keep it close a 3.7 walk
19:08percent rate you love that a 28 percent K rate you love that iso power number against which means
19:12extra base hits 030 which is phenomenal weighted on base percentage against 234 ground ball percentage
19:1867 percent so if the ball is not in the air and you're getting a lot of strikeouts and a lot of
19:23free passes Ben that's not a lot of opportunities to score runs just like yesterday a very good outing
19:28and performance by Zach Wheeler and the Phillies bullpen I expect the same things today but from a
19:32Phillies perspective they should be able to hit Richard Fitz however he'd last 30 days K rate
19:3725 percent you like that walk rate under 6 percent that's great iso against 149 you'll take that and
19:43this is a Phillies lineup with a lot of easy outs right now Riomuto Marsh Kemp Kepler Stott all wastes
19:50of space for the most part even though over the past 30 to 45 days you've seen a little bit better out
19:55of JT Riomuto just the power numbers aren't there so for me I look at that total of eight and a half is
20:00who's getting to nine runs like is it multiple home runs by Bryce Harper that powers you maybe so
20:06but if I look at Sanchez being a good pitcher on rest which helped out yesterday with Zach Wheeler and
20:11let's just say it does the same thing he should give up what one to two earned runs over six innings
20:15and then from a Phillies perspective three or four runs is a massive night it feels like for their
20:20offense so instead of taking the side again which was 200 or better yesterday which the Phillies did win
20:25but it took the extra innings I look at that total again tonight eight and a half and say I don't see
20:29nine runs tonight I just don't DRS 178 total runs scored by Philadelphia since the start of June that
20:38is the ninth fewest in all of Major League Baseball it is part of the reason despite the win yesterday
20:44Philadelphia is just an even 500 since the start of June but they maintain that half game lead in the NL
20:51East in front of the New York Mets both teams victorious with a rally yesterday the Arizona
20:57Arizona Diamondbacks excuse me had a four game win streak entering yesterday enter Bryce Matthews
21:04two home runs for the rookie 10 days after his MLB debut five RBIs the Scroves rough up Zach Gallin
21:12in Phoenix and today Houston looks to do the same Frambois Valdez gets the start for the Astros DRS
21:19Houston a road favorite tonight out in the desert total stands at eight and a half what do you like in
21:25this desert duel he's like watch out it's a trap I mean minus 126 I'm getting Frambois Valdez second
21:31on the card today in pitchers with the next flip of 2.73 his last 60 days in Major League Baseball
21:361.86 ERA you got to be kidding me take a look at Eduardo Rodriguez not nearly as good a pitcher his
21:42last 96 batters he's faced how about an ISO of 241 and a weighted on base percentage of 415 now in the
21:47lineup tonight you're not going to get a single left-handed batter going up against Eduardo Rodriguez which
21:52actually has struggled with lefties this year but to righties over the season 290 batters he's faced
21:57a 217 ISO and a 372 weighted on base percentage and it's not even like oh he's been much better as of
22:02late it's still a 206 ISO and a 359 weighted on base percentage against I don't understand what price
22:08point I'm getting in this game but I'll fall for it give me the Houston Astros at the minus 126 price
22:13with Frambois Valdez on the mound to pick up another victory you know what's interesting DRS the line's
22:19starting to work a little bit more in favor of the Strohs earlier this morning right before this
22:23segment minus 118 again it feels like a great price on Valdez who has been incredible for the Houston
22:30Astros as of late a little bit fishy perhaps that it's not minus 148 or something of the sort let's
22:39continue going around Major League Baseball the Dodgers winning their first game post all-star break
22:44last night five to two with Shohei Otani getting the start against the Minnesota Twins tonight the
22:49Dodgers a hefty favorite again minus 25 Yoshi Yamamoto gets the start against Minnesota eight and a half
22:57is the total five to the victory for LA good news for Los Angeles Freddie Freeman despite getting
23:03plunked on the wrist on Sunday was out there yesterday a little bit of skepticism perhaps DRS for
23:10you around this Dodgers one through nine what do you think they deliver tonight against the Twins
23:15yeah I think we should be able to bounce back with some runs you take a look at Woods Richardson his
23:19last 30 days here 77 batters that he's faced now he does have a pretty good ISO at 129 and a weighted
23:24on base percentage of 248 not a big strikeout guy but hear me out on this too like ground ball
23:28percentage for him is 27 that's not good fly ball percentage 46 so if we just extrapolate and say 50
23:34percent of those baseballs are not on the ground they're in the air you can do damage which includes
23:39hitting balls into the seats hard hit percentage over 77 batters Ben it's 50 that means one guy
23:46doesn't do so well the next guy cracks him barrel rate which is something we talk about sometimes to
23:50left or excuse me right into batters is 12 that means the most solid contact you can absolutely get
23:56here's the issue I look at that lineup today and let's just say the estimated lineup for the Dodgers
24:00Otani looks great Will Smith looks great Confort looks great everybody else looks terrible in that
24:06lineup now flip it over to Minnesota much more palatable here you have ISO power numbers all the
24:10way through that are plus against right-handed pitching but understand this about Yamamoto his
24:15numbers are really good on the season and over the past 30 days ISO power number against 086 which
24:20means you're not getting extra base hits so you have to stream together base hit after base hit after
24:25base hit you take a look at his fly ball percentage to lefties it's 14 percent not bad at that point
24:31here so for me the Dodgers should bounce back but it's a minus 230 price what I mean by bounce back
24:36is playing better baseball than they have like say over the past two weeks so eight and a half total
24:40it's a tough one Dodgers really overpriced at minus 230 might just be a pass for me at this point but
24:45I do think the Dodgers win they have the better pitcher on the mound but come on now Dodgers that
24:49offense doesn't look all that good coming into tonight no it does not DRS 56 and 32 for LA on
24:57July 3rd battling with the Detroit Tigers for the best record in baseball at that time they've dropped
25:0310 of their last 13 still 59 and 42 still a three and a half game lead atop the National League West
25:09only a few games now behind a game and a half the Milwaukee Brewers for the best record in the National
25:15League things are okay for the Dodgers just a little bit of a downturn at this moment speaking
25:21of greats at Chavez Ravine to once occupy the bump a man by the name of Dick Mountain Rich Hill I'm not
25:28even kidding he wore that as a jersey once Rich Hill a former Dodger who spent four years of his long
25:34major league baseball career now will start today inside Wrigley Field for the 14th team in his MLB career
25:42that being the Kansas City Royals 14 teams for Rich Hill ties an MLB record alongside Edwin Jackson
25:49also former Dodger I do believe as the most teams played for in a single MLB career at the age of 45
25:57Rich Hill gets the start today in Chicago where he began his MLB career two decades ago back in 2005
26:06Donnie obviously the Cubbies a pretty hefty favorite to welcome Rich Hill back to the bump inside the friendly confines
26:14what can we expect out of the 45 year old lefty
26:17yeah trying to take a look here and say with Rich Hill I'm going to go to his
26:21let me just go to his game log for the minor league system the reason I want to bring that up is I just want to see
26:26how many innings that he's actually pitching at this point so let's see so we guys last start was
26:30two innings five innings four four six five so he's actually had almost a dozen starts here his ERA in
26:37the minors is a 5.22 and he's getting up 11 home runs and 25 walks over those appearances so I look
26:44at the nine myself and say Boyd has actually been decent but you got 12 runs or double digit runs let's
26:49just say from the Royals yesterday they're all lined up against as right-handed bats today I think they can
26:53get some power shots off and also for Rich Hill this is a complete bullpen game give me the over nine
26:58there's too much uncertainty Rich Hill even if he's really good Ben that's like three in the third
27:02innings pitched here give me the over Wrigley today yesterday Kansas City played at 12 to hammer the
27:09Cubs 12 to 4 Chicago now a game back of Milwaukee in the NL Central still the slight favorites to win
27:17the division more bigs baseball next the race for the top spot in the National League East continues
27:23both the Mets and the Phillies lost their opening weekend set right out of the all-star break but both
27:28victorious last night in the opening game of a midweek set for both clubs the fills in extras the
27:35Mets were trailing four zip after three innings responded all the way to take out the LA Angels
27:41at home tonight the Amazons they have the favorite against the Halos once again minus 172 total is nine
27:48it's a pretty hefty juice on the over offense expected DRS tonight at City Field should get we should get
27:54some of that too and you take a look at it's usually a fade guy right off the bat you say it's
27:57Kyle Hendricks here's the problem with him he doesn't strike anybody out he doesn't walk anybody
28:02oh you really should get him in some good circumstances to really you know take some
28:06shots to go yard and doubles and iso power numbers but his hard contact rate is very low and it's hard
28:11to barrel him up which is one of those sneaky sloppy pitchers like Jose Quintana always comes by how does
28:16this guy get anybody out but he just frustrates batters but if we go to the other side Montas who
28:21coming back to the Mets better expectations were supposed to be over his first 81 at bats
28:25batters at his face that hasn't happened but look at that Angels lineup it's fun man Neto
28:30Shanuel you take a look at Trout Ward Adele Moncada and Soler all high isos and weighted on base
28:35percentages here I look at that total nine runs they probably should get that but I see that minus 174 I'm
28:41not laying that with Frankie Montas today this game's going to be touch and go give me the coin flip I'll
28:45take the Angels at a plus 146 price because I think that lineup for the Angels will show up tonight
28:5075 degree temperatures there at Citi Field eight mile an hour wind blowing out to left field I think
28:55they can get the Montas early would you see if that bullpen can hang around but this is a feisty
28:59bunch right now for the Angels not take them at a plus 150 or so price yeah DRS they really are
29:05they're only two games sub 549 and 51 now are they a playoff team they're four games back of a wild
29:12card spot in the American League but they're going to be that pesky kind of side with a ton of young
29:17talent that continues to contribute at the dish as DRS just alluded to two teams right now kind of
29:25hitting the skids it's been the story of the year for the Atlanta Braves and certainly is the story
29:30as of late for the San Francisco Giants DRS the G-men are riding a six game losing skid they are now
29:37three and a half back of their divisional foes in the Padres for that third and final National League
29:43wild card spot the Braves despite a win in their opening game against San Francisco yesterday are
29:49still 11 games sub 500 nine to five the victory though for Atlanta in the A Hayden Burns Birdsong
29:57excuse me the youngster for SF got the start yesterday did not record a single out DRS no outs
30:06gave up five earned runs in the opening frame before he was ousted and the Braves did not look back
30:13high scoring game though yesterday inside Truvis Park exactly a week after a high scoring all-star
30:19game seeing a total of nine and a half will the offense continue tonight in the ATL I think it
30:26might continue to now Ralph isn't a bad pitcher but we don't know any idea because I'm just listen
30:30Davis Daniel as the starter tonight last time he was out there 713 which is about a week week and a
30:35half ago four innings pitch before that just made a spot appearance in April so he's been down in the
30:40minors not a lot to go off of but not a lot of love for that San Francisco offense and rightfully
30:45so but 85 degree temperatures with the wind blowing out in Atlanta should certainly help
30:49Atlanta's bats have really come alive particularly Ben against right-handed pitching over the past
30:53month take a look at Olsen Acuna Baldwin Riley Albies and Murphy all sky high isos and weighted
30:58on base percentages here going up against right-handed pitching it's just hard to try to get a handicap
31:03on the game that's a pick them on the line per se and have a pitcher I really don't understand how
31:07much we're getting out of him how long he's going to play in this so for just my mindset
31:11Ralph's been around but that lineup for the Braves has been hot I probably just lean to the minus 106
31:17price on Atlanta at home at this point because it's like riding streaks and fading streaks what
31:22gives me the right to say okay San Francisco's gonna wake up tonight against a pitcher I don't
31:25really know all that much about why not maybe they stay down in Atlanta's bats stay hot and they pick
31:30up another victory yeah the Giants DRS have dropped seven of their last eight they actually started
31:36July super hot winning six of eight 51 and 42 firmly in a playoff spot at that time the Mets have been
31:44okay the Padres have been playing pretty well and of course the Brewers have been absolutely running
31:49through it the Cubbies now that top wildcard team around the National League again a full slate Tuesday
31:54as our second series post all-star break continues around the bigs DRS the Tigers trying to play better
32:01baseball now a road favorite today in Pittsburgh as they are not facing off against Paul Skeens how
32:07about some other spots on the board want to talk about the Chicago White Sox four consecutive wins
32:13for Chicago four straight on the road they're in Tampa today taking on the Rays but Tampa a hefty
32:19favorite at minus 230 the Rangers also a hefty favorite at minus 230 Jacob deGrom gets the start in
32:26Arlington for Texas against the Athletics yeah a couple of those games you take a look at Tampa
32:31Bay was only a team total I lost yesterday was on the Rays they scored three runs should have went
32:35the opposite side eight runs scored by the Chicago White Sox in an easy over and that one I'll tell
32:40you one to keep an eye on tonight which could be fun St. Louis and Colorado it's Fetty and it's
32:44Blaylock that total that game listed at 12 good hitting conditions yes but two bad pitchers on the mound
32:49if there is one spot to take the Colorado Rockies I don't even mean to win the game just to have some
32:54offense tonight it's an expensive price like four and a half maybe a minus 150 minus 160 price on
32:59the team total but no doubt in my mind I think Colorado is a legitimate chance off of Fetty to
33:03get five runs in Colorado tonight one of those games that probably isn't on really the Richter scale
33:08most people tonight but watch out for that game Mickey Moniak and the boys I think they hit tonight
33:12going up against Fetty I like that look DRS let's get some runs out there the Cardinals have stalled
33:18ever so slightly 19 and 24 since the start of June much like San Francisco St. Louis three and a half
33:27back of a wild card spot in the National League trailing San Diego Tyler Colick's brother gets
33:32to start today for the Padres against the Miami Marlins who are actually a home favorite today
33:38in South Florida against the pods 23 and 20 Miami's record since the beginning of June and DRS of course
33:46the Rangers right now starting to play much better baseball the offense is waking up Jacob DeGrom is
33:52pitching at a very elite level and if they are going to make a run to one of those wild card spots as we
33:57alluded to they are making up some ground now just two and a half back of both the M's and the Red Sox who
34:03are tied right now both uh Seattle 53 and 47 Boston 54 and 48 for those final two wild card spots Texas
34:11turning things around pretty quick no they are DeGrom should win JT Ginn on the mound tonight we'll see
34:17how that one turns out but I just saw yesterday too like the athletics like hey every starting pitcher
34:21we have is like on the market if you want to come and get them so it's kind of hilarious what's going on
34:25over there in sack town right now you got to think Luis Severino is getting traded right he has hated
34:31every minute of being a member of the A's despite being the highest paid A's player ever
34:35who knows DRS enjoy Moneyline we'll talk tomorrow more around the early line next
