00:06it is a very active wednesday for baseball very active afternoon for wednesday usually it's
00:13thursday that has the majority of day games but we have a lot going on today rob rob donaldson
00:18is here with us uh so so while the games are going on now let's get to some of the
00:23later games and
00:24the night games appreciate of course you coming on uh let's start off with one of the hottest
00:28pitchers in baseball and that is sanchez on philadelphia christopher sanchez he is minus 138
00:33against the padres today they've been a very perplexing team total of seven every day i wake
00:38up rob and i see people betting tattoos to hit a home run and it just never happens i think
00:42that
00:42everyone has just been donating money this season it's kind of crazy but uh i think these two teams
00:47are kind of even on paper but man sanchez is just bitching fantastic absolutely and kind of to your
00:55point the the padres are a very boomer bust lineup that has largely been bust in a lot of games
01:01this
01:01season they've had their fair share of you know the the double digit scoring outputs because they can
01:05have a lot of guys in that lineup that go yard but the reality is this total of a flat
01:11seven for the
01:12full game is probably pretty accurate and even when you're looking at you know walker buehler on the
01:18other side you also got to factor in that a guy like a brandon marsh just got pulled out of
01:23the game
01:23last night for who knows what reason and whether or not he'll be in the lineup today who knows and
01:27he's been one of the hottest hitters in this phillies lineup so i think both sides of the coin
01:31here could be really subdued offensively i love the first five actually going under a flat four
01:37that's where i grabbed it and even if you want to dabble with the full game market as well
01:41i like that under a seven there too all right so uh the raise orioles is the interesting one here
01:47and that's a 6 30 p.m game so in doing my internet sleuthing which i do here as always
01:53on the show i
01:54have steven matz pitching for tampa bay it looks like that the orioles may throw trey gibson that's
02:01the guy trey gibson as the potential opener today maybe bassett would be the bulk guy here
02:06and don't look now but i mean look i i think the orioles are super disappointing but they're playing a
02:13little bit better here finally 6 36 p.m eastern steven matz is back off the il he's starting
02:20against the orioles and i guess that's why the line is more of a pick-em because finally baltimore
02:24seems to be playing a little bit better yeah and honestly the the detriment of the orioles the last
02:32few seasons has been anytime they're going up against the lefty that offense just couldn't put
02:36up runs because a lot of their premium bats whether it was you know santan dare in the past gunner
02:40a lot of their premium bats struggled against that side of a pitcher and now because of the
02:47revamp that they'd done to their lineup and when you factor in that guys like pete alonzo adley
02:52rutschman austin jackson kobe mayo taylor ward they're all hitting the ball really well right now from
02:57the right hand side of the plate and obviously adley a switch hitter as well but i think when you're
03:03looking at the orioles lineup against lefties this season it's been a magical kind of revelation and
03:09over the last couple weeks here as well that's kind of been where their wins have come i tend to
03:14think the orioles are the side in this game for the full game and even on the kind of a
03:18team total
03:18front i really like the o's today all right now uh 6 41 p.m eastern we get the angels
03:25and tigers both
03:26teams you know seemingly not going anywhere this season the tigers at least have some optimism i would
03:32think but today the angels have their one out of five days where they think they have a shot because
03:36they got their best pitcher on the mound and jose soriano he'll face off with casey mize of detroit
03:42as they wait to get scoogle back the question will be is it too late detroit minus 124 today and
03:49i
03:49think probably rob people look at that and just jump on detroit not understanding that soriano is
03:54just far and away the angels best pitcher this season yeah and the crazy thing is you know detroit was
04:00one of the teams that was pegged as a potential contender out of the american league or at least a
04:04team to
04:05make it past just a wild card around the playoffs well you look up the standings and look at these
04:09two teams the tigers after yesterday are now below the angels and the al al standings and actually
04:15they're below everybody they are the worst team in the american league in terms of record they're one
04:21of their last nine or one of the last ten rather in terms of the win-loss column they've been
04:25an
04:26absolute disaster and yeah they do have some injuries those guys will kind of come back into the fold
04:31both on the pitching front and the lineup front and they'll start to kind of resurrect some of these
04:35woes but ultimately i think this team is just the team that right now is living in the doldrums the
04:40mood is terrible and they're playing like it i don't want anything to do with the tigers and so i
04:45will
04:46take the angels kind of begrudgingly here yeah that's that's a coin flip type game uh okay so the
04:52cubs are going through it right now longest losing streak in baseball they've won 10 in a row they've lost
04:58now 10 in a row talk about an up and down season they're in pittsburgh again today with a chance
05:03to
05:03break the streak odds makers are saying certainly possible minus 116 on the pirate side minus well
05:09so it's a coin flip game total eight and a half in this one and and certainly it's sort of
05:16stunning
05:16to me to see a team this talented lose 10 games in a row but i've learned long enough rob
05:21in sports
05:21betting that you tend to just go with the trend and keep going with it i know a lot of
05:26people are
05:26probably thinking oh i gotta go against it because they gotta win eventually well if you did that
05:30seven days in a row you've lost seven days in a row too what do you make of this one
05:34yeah when you look at the cubs the pitching is just flat out isn't there and so they needed to
05:39begin contention down the stretch to sort of warrant making those moves at the deadline that they didn't
05:44make last season well now the lineup is also in disarray the pitching is still terrible and
05:49jameson tyone who's a human pinata at this point is taking the bump again i mean if you're looking for
05:54a
05:55potential dfa candidate given who they have in the minors right now jameson tyone is kind of on
06:00that budding edge with another couple bad starts but with chandler on the other side for the pirates
06:04not a good looking surface level era but he's not allowing a lot of hard contact right now which kind
06:11of gives me that optimism and so a bad lineup for the cubs right now a pitcher that i think
06:16can
06:16experience positive regression over the next few starts this tends to feel like another pirate spot and
06:22if you do want also just a player prop here o'neal cruz look for a home run look for
06:27the over one and
06:28a half hits plus rbis that's where i'm heading all right good one there uh all right final game to
06:34preview here let's do braves and red socks uh yesterday i just simply looked at this one rob
06:38with another guest on the show and said wait a second here why are the braves not a bigger favorites
06:42against boston like they're much better yeah and truth be told the you know braves had to rally
06:47yesterday but i would probably just do the same thing again today like i don't get it
06:51atlanta's just way better than boston why are these lines pick them here
