Transcript
00:00The Tobago Rhythm and Soul Festival 2025 with headline act Boozhoo Banton will take place
00:07April 17th to 20th, 2025.
00:11We start on Thursday, what we call Glorious Thursday, with our gospel night named Melodies
00:19from Heaven.
00:20And that happens Thursday from 6 p.m.
00:24Then we of course skip Good Friday and then we start again on Saturday at the Buku Seafood
00:31and Jazz, which is going to be in Buku.
00:33So that's going to be a more jazz-centric environment.
00:37And then of course, Sunday, Boozhoo Banton and our host of fantastic artists will give
00:44you what we call the fusion.
00:46During an interview with TV6 News, Mr. Cowan said talks have already begun with Caribbean
00:52Airlines for additional flights on the air bridge.
00:55And what about Caribbean Airlines?
00:58So the conversation has already started and that's one of the reasons why we wanted to
01:02put the information out as early as we did.
01:06The conversation is already in the mix.
01:09We want to be able to have some depth of conversation with Caribbean Airlines, of course the Seabridge,
01:14of course our hotelers, and everybody else.
01:17This is going to be something that we see as a social economic boost within the space.
01:24Mr. Cowan said while he is open for promoters to partner with the Tobago Festivals Commission,
01:30he wanted to make it clear that the event is not a replacement for the Tobago Jazz Festival.
01:36It's not a replacement for jazz, it's an addition to what our event calendar will look like.
01:42We are testing out the Easter weekend right now, but it may not be Easter weekend next
01:47year.
01:48And based on how the following year, 2026, it may not be an Easter weekend.
01:53Easter weekend just kind of happened to fall into April based on how Carnival and everything
01:58kind of pushes down.
02:00Mr. Cowan said additional acts are to be released, early bird tickets would be out soon, and
02:06he is asking local artists to prepare themselves for auditions.
02:11Elizabeth Williams, TV6 News.
