To the Republic Bank CPL...   West Indian batter Rovman Powell is delighted to playing another season with Barbados Royals and is excited about some of the new signings.   Powell's former Barbados Royals teammate Jason Holder has switched to the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots, where he is looking forward to the new challenges.

00:00Explosive batter Ravman Powell has been retained by the Barbados Royals for the 2025 Republic Bank CPL.

00:07For him, it's a pleasure to be representing the franchise once again.

00:11It's always good to be back with the Royals.

00:13You know, I spent two seasons with them and two seasons where we have gotten closer as a franchise

00:19and we are moving the right direction.

00:21You know, we have made some new signings.

00:23Brandon King and Shuffian Rutherford are two of the new local signings from us.

00:29You know, son, it's exciting times.

00:31Also by the Royals is Kofi James, who made 240 runs,

00:35that being the most by any batter in the inaugural CWI breakout league.

00:39And Powell is looking forward to the new signing.

00:42We've decided that maybe we need to find a few new players, you know,

00:46to add to our rosters to see how best we can improve it.

00:49And Kofi James is one of those players, you know,

00:52he's been the leading one scorer in the breakout league that has just concluded.

00:56And he looks like somebody who is ready.

00:59He looks like somebody who once given the opportunity is fearless, you know,

01:02and that is something we like about him.

01:05One man who is no longer with the Barbados Royals is all-rounder Jason Holder,

01:09who will be playing for the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

01:12The 33-year-old Bajan is quite keen to represent his new franchise.

01:16Yeah, the move comes at a very good time, in my opinion.

01:20Yeah, it's something that I've thought about for a bit.

01:23And yeah, I think now is the perfect time to embark on something new,

01:27a new challenge, as I said before.

01:29And for me, I'm really excited for the opportunity.

01:31I think, you know, what we've been able to put together so far at St. Kitts,

01:34you know, I'm really happy with.

01:36And it's just a matter for us just, you know, plan and execute.

01:39Plan and execute.

01:40So, look, it's a new birth. It's a new opportunity.

01:44The 2025 edition of the tournament runs from August 14th to September 21st.
