Islamabad, June 2, 2025 — Sana Yousaf, a 17-year-old TikTok star and social media influencer, was shot dead at her home in Islamabad in the presence of her mother and aunt. The gunman, identified as Umar Hayat, fled the scene after shooting her at point-blank range.

According to Islamabad Police, Hayat, a 22-year-old from Faisalabad, had been obsessively pursuing Sana despite repeated rejections. Police revealed that Hayat had even waited outside her birthday party venue for hours, attempting to meet her. After being turned away multiple times, he forcibly entered her home and killed her.

Inspector General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi confirmed that the motive appears to be personal rejection. However, authorities are also investigating the possibility of an "honour killing," a phenomenon that remains prevalent in parts of Pakistan, particularly involving women in the public eye.

As of now, all evidence and witness statements point to rejected advances as the primary cause.
