“Robbers Picked the Wrong Man”: Pathankot Victim Fights Back With Bricks After Street Robbery

A shocking street robbery in Punjab’s Pathankot took a dramatic turn after the victim allegedly fought back against two motorcycle-borne robbers who had snatched his mobile phone and cash. The entire incident was captured on CCTV and has now gone viral on social media.

According to police and the victim’s statement, the incident occurred when the man was returning home from his shop.

The victim alleged that two men arrived on a motorcycle, blocked his way, and removed the key from his bike to prevent him from escaping. The accused then allegedly snatched his mobile phone and ₹5,000 cash before fleeing from the spot.

After the robbery, the victim reportedly began walking towards his aunt’s nearby house. However, moments later, the same two accused allegedly returned to the area.

Recognising them, the victim allegedly picked up a brick from the roadside and hurled it towards the motorcycle. The brick reportedly struck the accused, causing one of them to lose balance and fall from the bike.

A physical fight then broke out in the middle of the road between the victim and the two accused.

During the scuffle, the robbers allegedly pulled out a datar, a sharp-edged weapon commonly used in Punjab, and threatened the victim. Despite this, the man again threw a brick at them and reportedly injured the accused.

The robbers eventually managed to flee from the scene while allegedly issuing threats to the victim.

Police said a case has been registered based on the victim’s complaint, and efforts are underway to identify and arrest the accused. Officials are also examining CCTV footage to trace the suspects.

The viral video has triggered strong reactions online, with many social media users praising the victim for his courage during the robbery attempt.
