Member of Parliament for Toco Sangre Grande Roger Munroe is urging constituents in the marginal seat to take the election seriously.

Munroe, who is seeking to be re-elected, believes he has served the people well.

00:00The battle for the constituency of Togo Sangre Grandi is on.
00:04The incumbent MP Roger Monroe, campaigning in Sangre Grandi on Thursday,
00:08zoned in on first-time voters as well as those who are undecided, giving them this message.
00:14Do not allow the boat to sail without you.
00:18Get on board a team of respectful people with dignity and integrity.
00:25Get on board the people's national movement.
00:28Monroe went further, telling supporters of the party to take the election seriously.
00:33Election has consequences.
00:36If you don't believe me, call a friend, a brother, a sister, or anybody you know in the United States of America.
00:43They will tell you the consequences of elections.
00:47Monroe said the United National Congress screened about 11 people from the area to represent the constituency
00:53and ended up choosing someone from Belmont.
00:56He compared it to his experience in the area, saying he not only was born, but grew up in Togo Sangre Grandi.

01:09Monroe pointed to his service to the people, highlighting his response to the 2018 floods in Matlot
01:14in several other areas of development, such as the Sangre Grandi Hospital campus,
01:20retaining walls, road upgrades, bridges, and his lobbying the government over the condition of the Togo Secondary School.
01:26And thanks to them, the construction of the new Togo Secondary School is now ongoing.
01:32Monroe said while the UNC's promising certificates of comfort to squatters in Sangre Grandi,
01:38it was the PNM that supported the development of squatting sites such as Jacob Coat, B, C1, and C2,
01:46allowing residents to attain a certificate of tenure.
01:48And ongoing, as we speak, along the Valencia stretch, from Touré all the way to the Roundabout,
01:55and along the Valencia stretch, from the Old World.
