A tissue of lies by the THA. In debunking claims on the delay of the Scarborough Secondary School, former Prime Minister and political leader of the Pnm Dr Keith Rowley is tonight revealing whatsapp messages to support his claims, in response to a Facebook post by Education Secretary Zorisha Hackett on The Scarborough Secondary school project. Elizabeth Williams has been following the story and has this report.

00:00Minister Nyan Gatsby-Dulley was in communication with the Secretary in January.

00:10Immediately after the subterning was seen, the Minister communicated with her, asking the THA for the user brief.

00:20That user brief was never supplied through official channels to the government.

00:26Dr. Rowley said in January of 2024, when the sub was turned for the construction of the Scarborough Secondary School,

00:34Minister of Education Nyan Gatsby-Dulley contacted Education Secretary Zorisha Hackett via WhatsApp on January 19th,

00:42requesting the user brief of the project concerning the government assisting in funding the construction of the school.

00:49The series of WhatsApp messages were shown to TV6 News.

00:53The Minister of Education indicated to me, because I've always been involved in following the project,

01:00indicated to me that whenever I ask about the user brief in order to advance the Saudi loan discussions

01:07and meeting the deadlines in Saudi Arabia for the meetings and so on,

01:12the Minister will tell me the THA has not submitted the user brief to her.

01:17Dr. Rowley said the funding for the Scarborough Secondary School project came to note,

01:23as only in December of 2024, a response came from Education Secretary Zorisha Hackett

01:29to the Minister of Education via WhatsApp message.

01:32Mr. Hackett writes to the Minister, saying that she had not seen the request for the user brief.

01:41And it's only when she scrolled through her phone from December to January going backwards

01:49that she sees the request for the user brief.

01:52The long and short of the story is that that entire year,

01:55all the work that was done between foreign affairs, finance, and the Prime Minister's office

02:02came to note because we could not enter the room,

02:07our request could not enter the room to be considered for the Saudi loan

02:10because we had no user brief.

02:12Via WhatsApp, the user brief was sent via Education Secretary Zorisha Hackett

02:17to the Minister of Education on February 4th, 2025.
