00:00The Commonwealth Secretariat announced today a Commonwealth Observer Group for the general election on April 28th is due to arrive in this country on April 22nd.
00:10The Commonwealth Secretariat said in a press release today that its Observer Team was led by Everest Bartolo, a former Foreign Affairs Minister of Malta, with over 30 years of parliamentary experience.
00:22The Observer Team shall consist of six eminent persons from across the Commonwealth.
00:27The Commonwealth Secretariat said that from April 26th, its Observers will deploy in small teams to different parts of the country to observe election preparations and meet with local stakeholders in their respective locations.
00:40The Secretariat said that on Election Day, the Commonwealth Observer Group will observe the opening, voting, closing, counting and the results management processes.
00:51The Observer Group is to issue an interim statement on its preliminary findings on April 30th.
