The Parliament is set to end its July/August recess on Friday, as the nation awaits the date for the reading of the new Government's Budget for fiscal 2025/2026.

00:00The Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago announced on its website that the sixth sitting of the House of Representatives' first session of the 13th Republican Parliament shall take place on Friday of this week, September 12th, from 1.30 p.m.
00:15This will mark the end of the July-August recess for the elected members of the House of Representatives.
00:20The last sitting of Parliament occurred on July 29th, when the Senate held an extraordinary sitting to approve the prison's No. 2 order for the state of emergency, which was extended by an initial three months on July 28th, during an extraordinary sitting of the House of Representatives.
00:39The Parliament's website said that on the agenda for Friday's lower house proceedings will be government business bills' secondary reading.
00:46Another paper was not published on the Parliament's website on Tuesday, but is expected to be published before the House of Representatives begins its proceedings at 1.30 p.m. on Friday.
00:57With the House of Representatives returning from the July-August recess on Friday, it is expected that the government will soon announce the date for Finance Minister Devendranath Tanku's reading of the first budget of the second UNC-led administration of Prime Minister Kamla Passat-Bissessor.
