00:00Members, public, Tebegunians all, that matter as promised was reported to the Integrity Commission
00:09and as I had indicated to you, I received an acknowledgement in the first instance from the Integrity Commission
00:17confirming that this matter would be reviewed.
00:21Subsequently, on reviewing the contents of what I would have put forward to the Integrity Commission
00:29I received a follow-up invitation for an interview with respect to an ongoing investigation
00:40regarding that matter to which I became the primary witness.
00:45Mr. Morris speaking during a minority media briefing on Thursday
00:49said he handed over the necessary documents to the Integrity Commission
00:53and the Integrity Commission responded to him.
00:57And in that interview, I provided the Integrity Commission and its investigator
01:05with as much information as I knew it to be and I had before me.
01:12Subsequently, and that would have happened on January the 14th, 2025.
01:21So, what I've just indicated to you, members of the public, is that as of June 4th, January 14th, 2025
01:32an active investigation is ongoing with respect to irregularities in the creation and employment practices
01:42of the Rural Development Unit, ARRI, the conduct of the Secretary of Settlements and Rural Development.
01:54The minority leader expanded further on the matter.
01:58As minority leader, information came to me with respect to the conduct of this member
02:05as it pertains to irregularities in the creation and employment practices, ARRI, the Rural Development Unit
02:15of which that member is in charge of the division.
02:19And the allegations at the time, based on the information received,
02:24is that member would have unilaterally engaged in the employment of persons
02:31contrary to the outlined contractual guidelines of the public service.
