Based on estimated figures coming out from the Ministry of Tourism Culture and the Arts, the Semi Finals of the National Panorama Competition were more successful than anticipated, nearly doubling in size in attendance over last year.


Pan Trinbago tells us, they may need expand accommodation at the Queen's Park Savannah venue.

00:00On Sunday afternoon, at the Panorama semifinals, it was clear to Pantrén-Bégault president
00:05Beverly Ramsey Moore that the number of patrons would exceed what was initially projected.
00:21She was right, pointing to a successful marketing strategy, Pan and the Coat of Arms, and other
00:27aspects as the reasons.
00:30Estimated numbers coming from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts are as follows.
00:34North Stand, 5,100 persons, Grandstand, 4,100 persons, Dragwest, an estimated 13,000 persons,
00:44Greens, 4,100 persons, and Offstage, an estimated 2,000 persons.
00:51It's a whopping 28,300 people that are estimated to have turned up for the event.
00:56Ramsey Moore admits that even she did not expect that amount.
01:27But it's more than just at the North Stand, which sold out early for the semis, causing
01:32some people to complain, as a significant amount of tickets went to corporate TNT.
01:37Admittedly, parking was a challenge.
01:56That's in relation to the Grand Finals of the National Panorama Competition, where Ramsey
02:09Moore anticipates a significant number of people.
02:18Ramsey Moore tells us that already tickets for the Special Reserved and Reserved Areas
02:23of the Grand Stand are limited.
02:26And there's the Sister Isle, where the National Medium Band Finals will be held this coming
02:30Sunday.
02:31Are you seeing the same enthusiasm in Tobago as well, that growing demand for bands?
02:37Definitely.
02:38All the tickets that we brought to Tobago for the large band finals, they are already
02:44sold out.
02:45So we are asking for more tickets to come.
02:47We are requesting more tickets to come to Tobago.
02:49So you see, even the Filipinos are buying up tickets to come to Trinidad for the large
02:54band finals, and the same is happening here with respect to the tickets for the medium
02:58band finals.
02:59A cruise ship is expected to be in Trinidad for Panorama, and Pan Trinbego says it has
03:04received requests for the foreigners to experience the event from the Grand and North Stands.
