00:00I took it upon myself to come from New York in December in hope that the
00:06burials would be here. I got to the country in the 27th of January again
00:11back into Tobago and hope that the burials will be here. Today is the 18th
00:17of February and still the burials are not here. The woman said she made
00:22numerous calls for her items many of which were for Christmas of 2024 and
00:28today she continues to get the runaround from Trinbago shipping. After several
00:34attempts to call the boat office in Tobago, the office in New York, customs in
00:40Trinidad, customs in Tobago, I then come to realize that something is amiss. The
00:48fact that the office in New York would tell you from since roughly about mid
00:55December by the end of this week or next week the burial will be there by
00:59the end of this week or next week your burial will be there right and that is all you
01:02kept getting. Then it got to January and the office here in Tobago saying we
01:09don't know where they are, we don't know where they are, we don't know where they
01:12are. The affected customer said she wants the matter addressed in the shortest
01:17possible time. How do you feel about the situation? Pretty frustrating. I have now
01:23visited Tobago twice, paid flights and come down from New York in the hope that
01:27these items would have been here and still nothing and you get no explanation
01:35so it's a really a frustrating matter when you assured your family members
01:41items that are in these said burials would be with them in a said particular
01:45time and to today nothing. She said enough was enough and she decided to
01:52contact TV6 News. So as a last resort or as a resort I decided bring the
01:57attention to the media so that the individual who is culpable and
02:03responsible for the state that we now find ourselves in to really come forward
02:08and tell us the customer the truth about where these items are. TV6 News
02:13contacted Trinbago shipping in Tobago and Trinidad and an official said the
02:18shipment in Trinidad was in the process of being sent to Tobago. Affected
02:23customers told the TV6 News that this is the same reply that they have been
02:28getting since last October. We also contacted a senior official at the Port
02:33of Spain port on the Trinbago shipping issue and he explained that there is a
02:38process for clearing containers. He said the shipping line has to be paid then
02:43there is the payment of customs and port charges. The official said once there
02:48are unpaid charges there is a delay in the clearance of containers. Customers of
02:54Trinbago shipping are now contemplating their next course of action.
