Members of the Buccoo Village Council on Wednesday morning donated ten fans to the Buccoo Government Primary School. President of the Buccoo Village Council Keigon Denoon spoke with TV6 News about the reason for the donation. Elizabeth Williams was there for this report.

00:00So on behalf of the Boko Village Council we recognize that our responsibility is
00:04to ensure that we take care of everybody in the community especially the Boko
00:08Primary School and so in conversation with the principal we recognize that the
00:13heat is something that is very terrible and the students are suffering a bit and
00:17so as a village council it is our social responsibility to give back to the
00:21community and the school is part of our community and the school has been doing
00:25amazing work with the principal at the helm Ms. Rattrad and so the Boko Village
00:30Council came together and decided to donate 10 fans to the school and decided
00:34to donate 10 fans to the school. The fans were immediately distributed to the
00:38various classes. To ensure that we can alleviate the heat a bit and make the
00:43students lives a bit more comfortable so on behalf of the Boko Village Council we just
00:46want to say this is our gift to the school Ms. Rattrad we hope that you'll
00:52put it to good use and that it makes the children's life a bit more
00:54comfortable and anything that you want just reach out to us and we would be
00:58here to support as best as we can. Principal of the Boko Government
01:02Primary School Corinne Smith Rochford said the school is thankful for the
01:06donation. We wish to say thank you to our village council for their support and
01:12continued support and we know that we'll continue to work together as a team and
01:18as a collaborative stakeholder to improve the lives of our students and in
01:22general the citizens of Boko community.
