Investigators on Friday returned to the office of the DPP for further advice regarding possible charges against Commissioner of Police Erla Harewood- Christopher for her involvement in the importation of two sniper rifles which were found at the Strategic Services Agency sometime in late 2023.

00:22The Commissioner was arrested last Thursday and released two days later, but she was suspended
00:28by the Police Service Commission.
00:30She was ordered to cease reporting for duty until further notice, and DCP Junior Benjamin
00:36was nominated and later appointed Acting Commissioner of Police on Thursday, receiving his instruments
00:42of appointments from the PSC.
00:45The Commissioner, through her lawyer Pamela Elder, filed for judicial review challenging
00:50the PSC's decision to suspend her, and Justice Seachan granted her leave to pursue her case
00:56on the same day Benjamin was approved by the House of Representatives.
