Acting Commissioner of Police Junior Benjamin told TV6 News on Saturday that the initial report regarding the shooting death of Ronnel Marcelle is currently on his desk. He reassured the public that the investigation will be conducted transparently. Here is more from Elizabeth Williams.

00:00There is an interim report that is given. That interim report was done and sent from the ECP to the ECP INI and I am now seeking to look at that and from the investigation it's going to be launched.
00:19In an exclusive interview with TV6 News, Acting Commissioner of Police Junior Benjamin reassured the public that the ongoing investigation into the tragic shooting of Ronel Marcel will be conducted fairly and transparently.
00:33The incident occurred on Friday when Marcel was shot by a Tobago policeman while in handcuffs during a scuffle along Egypt Betel.
00:42If there is a video security, I would not really want to preempt any investigations. I would want the investigation to be as free and fair. I want to make sure that this matter is done with a level of transparency and integrity.
00:58Assistant Commissioner of Police Oswin Subaro also spoke on the matter, confirming that statements from witnesses are being gathered as an investigator has been assigned to the case.
01:09An investigator, assistant superintendent, Lee Tang has been detailed to investigate the police-involved shooting and at this time I would like to extend condolences to the family of the gentleman who died.
01:25Our police officers at no time leave their homes to engage persons. We have a video that is circulating and the investigation is afoot at this time.
