00:00Matches between TNT and Jamaica are never really friendlies as a healthy rivalry exists.
00:06And while head coach Dwight Yoke is aware of the public's desire to see us win, he also has his eyes on other objectives.
00:12Ideally, we want to see the players buying into our ideas a lot more and showing that consistency.
00:20And certainly with the other players that are coming in for the first time, which we have some new faces,
00:26that will then see what we're trying to do. But we've got very little time to work with these players.
00:33And hopefully the time that we spend with them, we can see the progress that we are making in the right direction.
00:39And that will mean, of course, winning the game is equally important.
00:43But, you know, as I said, the bigger picture for us is Cuba.
00:48Yoke's task doesn't come without challenges, as he will have little time with the players ahead of the Google Cup playoff match against Cuba in March.
00:55And he took time to address some of the challenges.
00:58Had we not had these games, I wouldn't be able to see the players until March, which is four days before the game.
01:04So the public need to be educated and let them understand that, you know, and as I said, I say educated in a real positive way.
01:15It's not it's a negative, but it's not certainly an excuse.
01:19It's just a challenge that, you know, we have to embrace and deal with it and make sure that when we come in to these circumstances,
01:26that we're ready to go because the time is very limited.
01:29Challenges aside, the former Manchester United striker explained his style and approach to football as he took a more pragmatic position.
01:37When people talk about playing philosophy, as I said, everybody wants to see a certain brand of football played from the back,
01:44you know, through the lines, you know, play through the lines, up to the front, get wifers, get crosses in.
01:50So everybody wants to see that attacking side of it.
01:53But ultimately, you've got to make sure that we're defensive in and out of position, that players understand the role and play the role effectively.
02:03And so when we're in position, of course, we want to be an attacking team.
02:06But when we're out of position, we must be able to be defensive solidly as well.
02:11So those are my part of my philosophy that I'm trying to introduce.
02:14And we will need that when we go into these, you know, challenging games, especially against Kew Roadway.
02:20And after York exploded on the scene at a young age, he identified two young local players who remind him of himself.
02:27We've got two young players that I've seen in the domestic game and we watched them quite carefully.
02:35And those two players reminds me when I started playing football for the national team.
02:40Right. And so, you know, when you look at Darrell Garcia, you know, that's a young player, he's only 17, 18.
02:52I mean, obviously, I was playing a little bit earlier than that, but that just reminds that we do have talent.
02:58And you've got the boy Sweeney, who is also a young talent that I like.
03:03You know, and so we want to bring them in, integrate them.
03:07And it will take us a new players if we were to get where we want to be first to be Cuba and get to that state.
03:15We need all these players.
