00:00Well it's all about UNITY as the Unity Cup kicks off tomorrow in London with a clash between regional rivals Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. The battle between reggae and soca will get going from 2.45pm local time. And head coach Dwight York was quizzed on what he's hoping to achieve from the Jamaica match.
00:25We are here to compete and we know Jamaica is obviously a very good team. We are trying to have get our wits against them in terms of how close we can get to Jamaica. To give us an idea of where we come from and where we are looking to go.
00:42We have various systems that I like to play and it depends on the personnel that we have on the day. But one thing for sure, you will see two teams trying to play entertaining football. As we say, attacking, playing on the front foot. It's in our DNA to try and play that way.
01:02But yeah, we have a lot of respect for Jamaica and know that they're ahead of us. But we're trying to close the gap.
01:10And being back in the UK as a former Manchester United and Aston Villa player, the media was keen to know York's thoughts on the controversy surrounding Aston Villa's defeat to Man U on the final day of the Premier League yesterday.
01:23Well, listen, I haven't seen it, so I don't know. I'm sure where you're getting at. I haven't actually had a chance to look at it.
01:30And this comes from, you know, the early stage of being a manager and having to sit on the fence when you need to.
01:36Obviously, two teams that is very dear to me, I'm sure when I have a chance to reflect on it.
01:42We know that United haven't been at the best and they have struggled and it's no, I think it's been well documented in the media.
01:49I think Villa will be hard done by because they played some supplying stuff and really certainly in the Champions League and felt in the latter stage of the Premier League,
01:58they looked like they were going to qualify for the Champions League.
02:01We'll see you next time.
