Transcript
00:00It will be uncharted waters for both Defence Force and Jamaican Club Mount Pleasant come tomorrow.
00:05This will be the first meeting between the two in international competition
00:09and their first semi-final appearance in the tournament.
00:12And skipper Kevin Molino sees it as a responsibility not only to fly the flag of Defence Force, but the league.
00:18When we look at it all around, we're representing all the clubs in Toronto and Tobago.
00:23So we know that it's a two-leg, but we are up for it.
00:27First and foremost, the game home. We just want to take it one game at a time, humble,
00:33but just willing to go out there and work hard to get the win, so to say, and I look forward to the second day.
00:39The semi-finals will be played over two legs with a final leg on Jamaican soil.
00:43And head coach Devon Jorcing doesn't see any advantage or disadvantage.
00:48For me, it don't matter because you could win 1-0 at home
00:55and believe it's a good result and you go away and you lose 2-0, right?
01:00So I think we need to be good in both matches, taking one at a time.
01:05But I don't see it really as an advantage or a disadvantage playing home first or away.
01:10It's football and we'll have to be at our best in the first and second legs to go through.
01:17As for the matchup itself, Kevin Molino isn't worried about the Jamaicans, but is only concerned about winning.
01:23It's not worrying much. We just have to focus on what we're good at.
01:29We know they have good quality players. Yes, we do have to respect them, but at the end of the day, we are home.
01:35Once we approach the game in the right way and play on the front foot and get the holy goal,
01:40which we're looking forward to, and just make sure and try to get three points.
01:46I think each game is like a final and we want to approach it in that way and try to win the game.
01:51And the Defence Force head coach isn't happy seeing AT&T players plying their trade in the Jamaican Premier League
01:58and wants to win the cup to help return T&T as the place to be in the Caribbean.
02:03Defence Force, we have to try and set the example by going on to win this tournament and let our players know,
02:10listen, home is where you need to be, playing and developing our league.
02:15But that is easier said than done. We know you'll have to go and work for that on the field.
02:20But as I say, it's something really personal for me because I'm passionate about my country.
02:25So to see our players go into Jamaica and play, it has hurt me.
02:29So I want to show them, listen, we're the best team in the Caribbean.
02:33Right? Stay home and play.
02:35Terence Clark, TV6 Sport.
