Director of the Police Complaints Authority -David West.. has revealed that hundreds of matters against police officers in Tobago.. are engaging the attention of the Authority .
He says most of the complaints.. have come from the Shirvan and Scarborough districts.

00:00In 2014, sorry, 2024, in 2014 to 2015, we have had, we had 66 initial reports.
00:12Now, an initial report is a report that when we first get it from you, it may or may not
00:18fall or become a complaint.
00:20So from those 66 initial reports, 28 became complaints.
00:26One was forwarded to the Commissioner of Police and then none to the DPP exception.
00:44So these are the type of offences that have been most common that Togolovians have been reporting.
00:51Discredible conduct about 46 officers reported in the years of 2023 to 2024.
00:59Neglect of duty, we are investigating 33 officers.
01:04Unlawful or undesirable signs of authority, 33 officers.
01:08Disobedience to orders, 13.
01:10Corrupt practices, 5.
01:12False or provocative, 1.
01:15So, so far for the year, we've been investigating 131 matters.
01:22They also highlighted failures within the court system and questioned how officers who
01:28appear to be rogue elements were being promoted.
