00:00To not support the bills, I will tell you what it will mean.
00:04It will mean two things.
00:07If we don't support the bill, it will mean, number one, we will continue to exist under
00:13Act 40 of 1996.
00:16Our assemblymen will continue to go to the legislature to just debate motions and waste
00:21time.
00:22No lawmaking powers.
00:23Mr. Dennis said if the bills in Parliament are not approved so that Tobago can move forward,
00:29there would be more wasted years with further political arguments.
00:34It will mean that we will spend another 20 years, this one in this corner arguing about
00:38self-government, this one in the next corner arguing about secession, this one in the next
00:43corner arguing about confederation, this one up in the sky arguing about federation, and
00:48everybody continue to talk amongst ourselves while the governance of Tobago goes nowhere.
00:55Mr. Dennis said Chief Secretary Fahli Agustin needs to speak to his friends in the UNC to
01:00support the Tobago autonomy bills.
01:03So I'm calling on this current THA, led by Fahli Agustin, to tell their friends in the
01:11UNC to support the bills, vote for the bills, and if, in fact, you have meaningful contributions
01:22to make by the way of suggestions for amendments, then go to the Parliament, which you are being
01:27paid to do, and contribute to such.
