Transcript
00:00Good morning and welcome to a National Morning Weather Update from the Met Office.
00:04It's a mixed picture for the rest of the Bank holiday weekend.
00:07Sunny spells for some, but also some outbreaks of rain or showers.
00:11And this is due with low pressure generally dominating,
00:14especially across the south of England on Monday,
00:17with longer spells of rain possible here.
00:20But back to this morning, plenty of sunshine across Wales,
00:23the Midlands and also the south-east.
00:26But cloudier conditions still remaining across Northern Ireland
00:29and also across Scotland with some showery outbreaks of rain,
00:32especially across eastern areas where we could see some heavier showers developing later.
00:36Some of these could be thundery too.
00:38Further towards south-west, this is that weather front bringing
00:41some showery outbreaks of rain and cloudier conditions for a time.
00:45But there are still going to be some decent sunny breaks.
00:47And where you do see the sunny breaks, temperatures could feel warm
00:52with temperatures up to 18, possibly 20 degrees across the slice of the UK.
00:58Into the afternoon and evening time, that cloud and patchy outbreaks of rain
01:02continues to push up, affecting northern Wales,
01:05but also coming into south-eastern parts of England through the night.
01:09And some of this rain could turn quite heavy at times too.
01:12Staying rather cloudy elsewhere, we will see some clearer spells developing.
01:16And where we see the clearest spells developing across northern England,
01:19possibly the Midlands, we could see temperatures fall here,
01:22but also some mist and fog patches developing.
01:25But there is a lot of cloud around, so temperatures generally are going to be
01:28holding above freezing, but probably turning a little bit chillier
01:32under the clearest skies further towards north-eastern England.
01:37So for Bank Holiday Monday, it could be quite a disappointing start
01:40across south-eastern England with outbreaks of rain.
01:43Some of this could be on the heavy side.
01:45Throughout the day, though, it is going to be a case of sunny spells
01:48and showers bubbling up.
01:50Some of these showers could be on the heavy side,
01:53so you might need a brolly if you're out and about.
01:55But cloudier conditions remaining across northern Ireland, parts of Scotland,
01:59but we could see some brighter skies developing across western parts.
02:03But like I said, it is going to be hit and miss with the showers,
02:06but where you do see the sunny breaks, temperatures can be feeling quite warm
02:10with highs of 18 or 19 degrees.
02:13Once that clears through, there is a chance of higher pressure dominating
02:16as we go into Tuesday and more so into Wednesday.
02:19But for more details on that, subscribe to our YouTube channel
