The Women's T20 World Cup has gotten underway in the United Arab Emirates, with the West Indies set for action on Friday against South Africa.

That game bowls off at 6.00am TT time and takes place in Dubai.

West Indies coach Shane Deitz says skipper Hayley Matthews loves challenges and has no problem being the player the team heavily depends on.

00:00The West Indies are in Group B for the Women's T20 World Cup alongside Bangladesh, England,
00:05Scotland and Friday's opponents, South Africa.
00:08Despite losing both their warm-ups, Windies coach Shane Deeds says the girls have done
00:13their homework and are raring to go.
00:15I think it's an exciting opportunity, we've been here for a few weeks training hard so
00:19we really want the games to hurry up because we've had enough training and enough practice
00:23matches so we're just keen to get the games underway and great opportunity against a really
00:27good side South Africa to hopefully put a good show on for the spectators and fans
00:31following back home.
00:33It's no secret that the West Indies depend too heavily on captain Hayley Matthews.
00:37Instead of feeling more pressure, Deeds says that actually brings out the best in the 26-year-old
00:42all-rounder.
00:43I think she relishes being that person in the team, she loves taking all the responsibilities,
00:48she wants to do everything so I can't really stop her doing anything or the conversations
00:53and she's pretty level-headed for her age, she's been around a long time obviously, played
00:57a lot of cricket.
00:58Nothing really stresses her out, she seems so relaxed all the time and enjoys the game.
01:05We try to keep a real relaxed atmosphere so she has to worry about the next ball and that's
01:09pretty much what she does, ball by ball and then leads the captaincy and obviously bowling,
01:13she bowls big overs too which she wants to do.
01:16She wants to be the girl under pressure all the time, that's when she's had her best I
01:19think.
01:20Deandra Dotton is also back with the side, having come out of retirement recently.
01:25The 33-year-old, whose sobriquet is World Boss, was a member of the 2016 T20 World Cup
01:31winning team.
01:33Deeds says her presence in the side is a huge plus.
01:36Yeah, unbelievable to have Deandra back, she's fitted in brilliantly.
01:41Just working with her first hand, see the power she's got when she's batting and her
01:45fielding is unbelievable.
01:48She brings a great dynamic to our team and also for the fans watching, she's an entertainer
01:52so it's great to have her around and obviously her experience playing cricket around the
01:55world for the younger girls like Munasar and James who are just starting their careers
02:01to have another great senior player in the team is brilliant.
02:05One team that has a lot of respect for the Westernies is South Africa and their captain
02:10Laura Woolford is leaving nothing to chance going into the game.
02:14We had some good chats this morning about the opposition, it's definitely not a team
02:17that we can take lightly, I think you never really know what you're going to get with
02:20the West Indies, they can either chase down 215 at T20 when Hayley Matthews and Deandra
02:26Dotton are on song.
02:29So yeah, I think we're definitely going to have to play our best cricket and we've had
02:32a lot of good chats about their players.
02:34The other group comprises defending champs Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan and
02:39Sri Lanka.
