With the second edition of the ICC Women's Under-19 World Cup starting Friday at 10.30pm TT time, we will look at some things surrounding the tournament.

The focus is on two West Indian female umpires, including a Trini, who will be officiating, plus one South African and a Bangladeshi player to look out for.

00:22Meso is looking forward to guiding her younger teammates at the 2025 tournament. Now 17, Meso did
00:28play in the inaugural Under 19 Women's T20 World Cup at the age of 15. She has words of advice for
00:34the inexperienced players saying quote, I am going to help everyone who is in the same shoes I was in
00:40at their first World Cup. We won't be hard on them because it's their first and our second unquote.
00:46Sameer Akhtar has been named captain of Bangladesh. She also played in the 2023 edition
00:52which included a shock win against Australia in the group stage. Akhtar made 31 not out in that
