Residents and businesses can give feedback on plans to improve walking and cycling routes around the Barwick Road and Cross Gates area.

00:00£1.9 million of government funding has been awarded to develop and deliver improvements

00:06to walking and cycling routes around Crossgates. The scheme will focus on Barrick Road and areas

00:11of Swarkcliffe, Manston and the Poole Estate. The plans are aiming to create safer and healthier

00:17streets and make it more convenient to walk, wheel and cycle shorter journeys to school,

00:22shops and the centre of Crossgates. Previous feedback highlighted that it can be difficult

00:27to cross the road at busy junctions and that existing cycle routes aren't well connected or

00:32signed. The proposals include a two-way segregated cycle track along Barrick Road, new signalised

00:38crossings for pedestrians and cyclists over Seacroft Roundabout and wider footways along

00:44Barrick Road. Tree planting and a pocket farm along Farm Road also form part of the plans.
