Howie Doesn't Believe this Year Will Be Same As 2022

00:00But there are some core players here that got beat and were prevented from celebrating with the champagne in 2022

00:06By this atlanta braves team in that freaking house of horrors

00:11Here's the difference between 22 and now for me

00:15All through september of 22. You could almost see it coming, right?

00:19I mean if you go back just two years, you know their play remember

00:24They had series after series where it looked like they had a soft and favorable schedule

00:28And they kept losing games to teams that you know

00:31Had they played uh up to the level that you expected you would not have thought they would lose to

00:37This was a different kind of september and not only september

00:41This team's had the best record in baseball since the end of may

00:44So I feel different about them at this point of the year than I did two years ago

00:50Because i'm telling you you could almost see it coming before they even got to atlanta in 22

00:56This is different. You know, I just I i'm willing to shrug last night off and see what happens tonight

01:02And again, obviously you're going against chris sale and that's less than an appetizing possibility

01:07But you know, they pushed sale back a day because they were concerned about I say concerned

01:13But his velocity was down a little bit his last time out

01:16He wasn't nearly as sharp as he had been

01:18So they gave him the extra day

01:20And whether that's an indicator that something's up there. I don't know but I mean they just beat jack wheeler

01:26Who certainly is in the conversation for the cy young? So

01:30Look, i've been around long enough. I I know when it seemed that the gods were very much aligned with the mets

01:36I I was there for the ball on the wall just as I was for the ball on the bag the other night

01:41You know, I was there for the all the great moments in 69

01:45So, you know, I know that there have been times in their history

01:49Need I even mention?

01:50Um a little roller up along first where it seemed like somebody wanted the mets to win

01:56Um, i'm not willing to say that here we go again off of one game
