00:16Yanks just took down the New York Mets two games out of three that we're going to deep dive further
00:20in the latest straight out of Flushing podcast covering all these New York Mets right here on
00:24the New York Post Sports YouTube channel over the next 24 hours my co-host Dexter Henry and I have
00:28a lot to say on this series but in a recap fashion the Mets go on to drop this one
00:32two to nothing
00:33Christian Scott did all that he really could he hung two pitches and that's all she wrote
00:37throwing two fastballs just a little too middle middle one actually was a splitting to begin the
00:42ball game that we saw against the fantastic Ben Rice smacking his 38th home run of the year and
00:46then we see Austin Wells the man who's not even batting 200 finds himself with a big bomb first
00:52pitch swinging and his first half of the day against Christian and that's all she wrote for
00:56the Mets today as they simply had no answer for the absolutely dominant Cam Schlittler who's looking
01:01like he's one of the best pitchers in Major League Baseball right now. Schlittler still
01:05with a sub two ERA on the season mowed down the New York Mets across six plus strong innings of
01:09work
01:10that we saw today and for Christian Scott again a valiant effort only allowed around three hits in
01:14his six inning outing but not enough for a Mets offense that just simply did not have the answers
01:19and when we talk about a Mets offense it was nice to see them break out the way that they
01:23did
01:23obviously here that we saw in game two this series a big offensive breakout beating up on
01:28Garrett Cole the New York Mets now have an over eight year array against Garrett Cole and these
01:32Subway series had had matchups that we have seen but nonetheless when it comes to the Mets and winning
01:37the series that just wasn't their cards in the end I honestly thought how do you know it that they
01:41would just because the Mets actually have had the upper hand over the Yanks that we've seen over the
01:45past couple years in these matchups but with the pressure added with the Yankees knowing every game is so
01:50vital to win with the hunt currently not only against the Red Sox but also to a degree the
01:54Rays that they're trying to climb up towards and they have a big matchup against the Rays upcoming
01:57in the month of September as well nonetheless this was a huge series win for the New York Yankees a
02:02not so great series for the New York Mets but still positives to take away when we look at especially
02:07the game two victory Juan Soto silencing the crowd at least for a moment with all the bluebirds
02:11every single time he went up hitting that bomb to right in game two of the Mets victory
02:15A.G. Ewing really starting to find himself again with that big pimp home run that we saw in the
02:19Mets first game of the series and that loss that we saw as well as Carson Bench continuing to show
02:24that he is that true five-tool talent that should have a lot of Mets fans excited I mean Juan
02:28Soto
02:28stated himself this doesn't surprise me he's a superstar and this is basically what we should expect
02:34Carson greatly appreciates those words from the 765 million dollar man and as someone covering the
02:39Mets I can tell you very much I appreciate it too as someone who knew right from the get-go
02:42this season
02:43that Carson Bench had all the capability to be that guy in right field every single day
02:47for this New York Mets team so now with the Mets obviously a couple weeks left on this season what
02:51is next in store for them well they have Pete Alonzo returning to Citi Field as we know tomorrow

03:05transpired and Alonzo's return to Citi Field this time as a Baltimore Oriole I thought it was going to

03:14injured list so for the New York Mets they take one out of these three games here in the Bronx
03:18against these Yankees the Yankees continued their winning ways as they're trying to stay afloat as a
03:23top dog in the American League and now we'll see what is next in store not only for the Yankees
03:27this
03:27season but ultimately as well the New York Mets as they have a bit more to do before this season
