00:00It's tough, mentally it's tough because the final two weeks I'm supposed to be feeling
00:05comfortable seeing results and I am here, you know, I'm seeing what I want to see but
00:11I could have been doing a lot better but taking into consideration how the beginning of the
00:14year started, it was rough and now I'm trying to play catch up with the other athletes who
00:18have things basically put in place for them but I'm a fighter so I will go out there and
00:25do my best.
00:26Mr Stewart spoke with TV6 Sport during his training sessions at the Dwight York Stadium
00:32in Tobago.
00:33He said at one time he was on the verge of giving up.
00:37And facilitate me on days even when there are sports camps they still allow me to come
00:40and train and I really appreciate that.
00:42I guess that's the reason why I will continue this season.
00:45So I must say a special thanks to them and my coach Wade Franklin, you know, for sticking
00:49it out with me because sometimes I come training and I say, I tell him I'm going to shoot without
00:53him, I don't think I will continue the sport because I was literally on the verge of giving
00:57up track and field.
00:58Mr Stewart said those in authority need to listen to the cries of athletes.
01:04Current people right now, they just try to facilitate us to the best of their ability
01:08but I think the higher heads need to come out and listen, hear the athletes and their
01:13voice.
01:14Sometimes we need to talk to somebody who will really understand us better.
01:19So far coming to the stadium I must say a special thanks to Mr Tobias and the stadium
01:23staff because they try their best to help me out.
