T&T's Akeem Stewart got on the medal podium on Thursday competing at the Paralympic Games.

He took home the silver medal with a distance of 59.66 in the F64 men's discus throw. He split two Americans into gold and bronze.

00:00Trinidad and Tobago's Hakeem Stewart saved his best performance for the F64 event of
00:05the Paralympics. The 32-year-old grabbed the silver medal with a season's best
00:09effort of 59.66 meters in his very first throw and he was no doubt overjoyed.
00:18However American Jeremy Campbell got the power and the technique right
00:22throughout his trials. He consistently threw the discus over 69 meters and he
00:27took the gold medal.
00:40That's the moment he knew he took the top prize. The bronze medal went to his
00:45teammate David Blair. The best he could do on the day was 57.76 meters.
00:50Stewart tried his best on his last throw to get it beyond at the winning
00:54mark of 60.46 meters but it was not to be. A great performance nonetheless. He
01:00backs up his pedigree at the Paralympics with a throw of 57.09 meters.
