00:00Ticket to Ride is the perfect board game to add to your board game jar this summer, if you're looking to spruce it up,
00:06especially with the weather being as it's been, we've probably all been indoors more,
00:11and you might be sick of playing Monopoly, Clue, Clued or Scrabble, all the classic favourites,
00:16which are classics for a reason, but they can get tiresome after a few plays, or even after many years of playing just them.
00:24Also, this is really fun, the whole family can play it, from little kids all the way to grandparents,
00:30and, unlike Monopoly, you're probably not going to flip the board out of anger.
00:35So, let me take you through how you play it.
00:37You see here, we've got a map, so this is the original Ticket to Ride, this is North America, so it's got Canada and the US,
00:45so it's got cities like Dallas, New York.
00:49Your aim of the game is to build as many routes as you possibly can before you run out of trains,
00:57and so a turn is really simple, you can do one of three actions, so if you see in front of me here,
01:02we've got a few cards laying down, so I could pick off these two yellows, which can then be used later in the game to build on the corresponding track,
01:14and then I would put down two replacements, so then the next person who comes can grab these two,
01:22or you can build, so if you've got in your hand, you've got, let's say I was going to build over here, it's Boston to New York,
01:29that's got two yellows, I've got two yellows here, I can build the track, I can put my trains on blue, sticking them here,
01:37and voila, I've got a baby train.
01:40Third option you can do is pick up a new ticket, so tickets are routes that you're tasked with completing before the game's done,
01:49so this one here's Vancouver to Montreal, so that's a long way to go, and so that's worth 20 points,
01:56it's really fun, it's super, super easy to play, it's not any more complicated than anything like Monopoly or Snakes and Ladders really,
02:05once you get the hang of it, you play one game, bada bing, bada boom, yeah, tickets are right, perfect place to start your board game journey.
