00:03I'm studying in my kitchen today because I'm about to go in my fridge
00:06and bring out brand new cheeses from Pilgrim's Choice.
00:10Pilgrim's Choice has launched this brand new range of different cheese flavours
00:15and I am so excited to give them a try for the very first time
00:19and share my honest opinion with you.
00:21But before we get into that, I have to mention my absolute love of cheese.
00:26I love cheese so much. It's definitely one of my favourite treats.
00:30In fact, if I'm going to have a dessert, I'm more likely to go towards a cheese board than anything else.
00:36I always make sure cheese is a prominent feature on any sort of party buffet I may do,
00:41especially around Christmas time.
00:42But to be honest, I will eat cheese any day, any time that I want because I love it so much.
00:49Whether that be a French brie or a blue Stilton or even just a cheddar, I love cheese.
00:54And it's not just the different types of cheese I love, it's a different way it can be served as well.
00:59You know, in your cheese toastie or a little cheese slice on a burger
01:04or just a big wedge to delve into, grated cheese.
01:08There's so many different ways.
01:09And you can also incorporate cheese into so many different meals.
01:13Although I do love to snack on it as a guilty pleasure completely on its own,
01:17having cheese as a topping or in the middle of a meal, whatever way you can think of,
01:25I will be up for it.
01:26And if any sort of meal has cheese included, nine times out of ten, I am going to love it.
01:32So let's go in the fridge, let's get these cheeses out and let's give them a taste.
01:37And here I have three of the new flavours from Pilgrim's Choice.
01:42Two of them, which are in sliced cheddar and one of them here, which is grated.
01:47So let's take a look at these one by one before I go in to give them a taste.
01:51Okay, first off, starting with the grated cheddar.
01:54This is called the Italian one and it has flavours garlic and herb.
02:00Now, I love garlic and I do think this will be a great topping.
02:04Maybe even on a lasagna that gave it that extra punch.
02:07But yeah, this sounds delicious and I can't wait to give it a try.
02:10Next one we have is one of the sliced cheddar variations,
02:13which is called the Mexican one in the flavour smoky paprika.
02:17Now, I do love a bit of spice and I think this would be a great addition to a toasty
02:22to give it that extra hint of spice and extra kick.
02:26Yeah, it would make it a little bit more unique than your average toasty.
02:30And lastly, we have the American one, which is hot honey.
02:34And again, this is sliced cheddar.
02:35This one is one that I'm most looking forward to.
02:39I love the idea of a honey sort of flavoured cheese.
02:42It's not something I've done before.
02:44I have had honey on top of camembert and when that melts in, that is absolutely divine.
02:50So I'm hoping I like this one and I'm certainly really intrigued.
02:54Okay, so no judgment here.
02:55We're going in for the taste test and I'm going to delve straight into these packets
02:58because why not and give them a taste like that.
03:01I will say though, just as a kind of disclaimer,
03:04I think that the grated one might actually taste better, a little bit melted as a topping.
03:11But I'm still just going to dive in and give it a taste and let you know what I think.
03:14Oh my god, straight away upon opening it, I am hit with that garlic scent and it is delicious.
03:21I think if you love garlic, this is the way forward.
03:25It smells, sorry, so unbelievable.
03:28Let's go ahead and have a little bite.
03:31That may be one of the greatest cheeses I have ever tasted.
03:41I am so surprised.
03:43I thought with it being the grated version that it wouldn't even taste that nice cold.
03:47How wrong I was.
03:48The flavour of garlic is absolutely prominent in this.
03:51And yes, I still stick to what I say though about it being an excellent topping
03:55because the flavour, wow, absolutely unreal.
04:00Like I said before, if you like garlic, this is the one for you.
04:03If you're not a fan of garlic, I really wouldn't recommend it
04:05because the garlic flavour is kind of the main star of the show.
04:10It absolutely melted in my mouth as well,
04:12which is what I was saying about maybe it not being as nice just straight out of the packet.
04:16But yeah, it really melted in the mouth, which makes me think, again,
04:20if you want to melt this and add this as a topping onto a meal,
04:23it would taste even better.
04:25And that is certainly what I'm going to do with that cheese.
04:27Okay, we're going into the Mexican one.
04:30Absolutely, sounds gorgeous.
04:31Let's give it a taste.
04:33So I've just took a little slice off the largest slice.
04:36In the packet, you get quite a few slices, as you can see.
04:39So it's plenty to go around.
04:42And yeah, but I've just taken a little slice off here
04:44to have a little taste.
04:46And you can see sort of like spices in the cheese,
04:49if that's chilies or something like that.
04:52But yeah, let's have a bite.
04:56It's not as spicy as I was expecting.
04:58It definitely has that little kick,
05:01but I definitely was expecting more spice than that.
05:04I suppose that is a good thing.
05:05Because I love spice so much, I do have a bit of a tolerance towards it,
05:09where some people who are trying to venture
05:11into being a little bit more adventurous with their spice,
05:14this might be a good cheese to try
05:16because it isn't overpowering at all.
05:18It definitely is very, very nice.
05:21And it has that same melt-in-your-mouth sort of distinctive texture
05:26that I think Pilgrim Choice cheeses have.
05:28I wouldn't say it was my favourite, though.
05:30So far, the garlic and herb definitely tops it.
05:34Like I said, I think I was just expecting
05:36a little bit more fire in the mouth.
05:37But overall, still a delicious cheese.
05:39I definitely think after tasting that, like what I said,
05:43that one would be great.
05:44Either grated over a spicy meal or maybe in a toasty to give that extra hit.
05:50And lastly, the American one, hot honey,
05:52which, as I said before, I am super, super excited to try.
05:55I think it will be delicious.
05:57And yeah, let's dive in.
05:59Again, I've just taken a little slice there just for a little taste of it.
06:02And you can see, again, the seasoning sort of in the cheese.
06:07And it looks really, really similar to the last one I just tried
06:11with the smoky paprika.
06:13The only thing I'll say is I think that the colour of the cheese itself
06:16is more of a lighter orange where the Mexican one,
06:20the smoky paprika one,
06:22led more towards sort of a red hue.
06:25But let's give this a try.
06:28Wow, if you want spice, this is actually the one.
06:30Um, that's unbelievable.
06:33It wasn't what I was expecting at all, but it is really nice.
06:37Um, it has a great combination of spice and sweetness,
06:41which is obviously from the honey.
06:43Um, you know, actually now that I've realised hot honey
06:46means it's going to be spicy.
06:48Um, that's unreal.
06:50But wow, that one does make your eyes water.
06:54I think that's delicious.
06:55So again, I would totally recommend grating this over a lasagna
06:59to give it something, some extra sort of spiciness
07:02if you're into that kind of thing.
07:04Um, I think this would also be great, uh, grated on top as a garlic bread.
07:08But yeah, absolutely delicious.
07:10I thoroughly enjoyed that.
07:12So overall, what I would say is that, uh,
07:14it is excellent, uh, flavours from Pilgrim's Choice.
07:18I think they've made the right decision in these new bold flavours.
07:22They really stand out.
07:24Um, I think that these cheeses will be lovely on their own.
07:28If you are like me, just love to snack on cheese.
07:31Um, but I actually think what they will do mostly
07:34is help to enhance meals.
07:36I would highly recommend trying them, as I said,
07:39as a topping or as a main ingredient.
07:43Um, or like I said, in the likes of Toasties sandwiches,
07:47I think that all of these will do well
07:49and just kind of elevate your meals.
07:51Now, Pilgrim's Choice kindly sent me these cheeses for review.
07:55But of course, I am providing my honest opinion
07:57and I genuinely do love them.
07:59Um, but if you want to pick these up for yourself,
