00:00Hi, I'm Holly Alton, food and drink writer for National World.

00:03Since we are nearly at Halloween, loads of places across the UK have been launching special Halloween treats.

00:10Now, one of my favourite places to enjoy food is, of course, Greggs, and that is because I'm a local girl.

00:15South Shields, born and bred, Greggs is an absolute stable.

00:19And they have actually launched two brand new Halloween sweet treats.

00:23So I thought I would take a look and see what they like, and also give them a taste.

00:29And give my honest opinion on if they are actually delicious.

00:33So I have with me right now two of their only Halloween sweet treats, which is the Pumpkin Biscuit and the Spooky Bun.

00:41Let's take a look at them.

00:42So, of course, they're in the iconic Greggs Peter bags. Let's dive in.

00:46In here, we have the Spooky Bun.

00:49Now, I will say it's really small.

00:51So if you're after a big sweet treat that's going to fill you, this probably isn't it.

00:55In fact, I would probably say this is more geared towards children because of its size and, of course, its design.

01:00We have green icing, sprinkles, which are in Halloween colours such as green, orange, white and black.

01:07And the cute little design of the bat, which I think is absolutely adorable.

01:11Now, it seems to be just a normal sponge.

01:13It's not chocolate flavoured or anything like that, which personally is my favourite type of cake.

01:17I'm not a fan of chocolate cake, so I was really pleased when I peeled this and found that it wasn't that, because I was a little bit worried.

01:24But I'm going to have a bite and let you know how it tastes.

01:30Now, that is very sweet, but it is very nice.

01:33I will definitely stick to what I said, though, as I do think this is more for your little ones to enjoy.

01:38But if you do fancy a little small cake as a sweet treat, then it might be a good choice.

01:44And as I say, I think the icing is delicious, the sprinkles are delicious, and the cake itself is really nice.

01:50Now, the second item I'm going to try is actually the opposite in what I was thinking of size.

01:54This is absolutely huge.

01:56It is the pumpkin biscuit.

01:58Now, I wasn't expecting it to actually be this large, and it does look absolutely delicious.

02:05Now, what I like personally about a biscuit, especially from somewhere like Greg's, like a bakery, is sort of like a soft cookie.

02:13I don't like anything too crunchy.

02:16I haven't previously said that I don't like chocolate.

02:18This is a bit different because it's chocolate-covered, whereas chocolate-flavoured things such as cakes are not my cup of tea.

02:24But yeah, this looks nice.

02:26The chocolate is melting in my hand.

02:28But yeah, a lot bigger than I was expecting.

02:31Very, very cute design of the pumpkin.

02:34I love pumpkins.

02:35They just scream Halloween to me.

02:38The only thing I would say is that I think this personally would be better if it had summer colour as well.

02:43Maybe if it had an orange design with the green sort of on the top.

02:48But no, this is just full chocolate.

02:50Let's go in and have a bite.

02:55Okay, that wasn't soft.

02:56It was very, very crunchy.

02:58However, it isn't a cookie.

02:59It's basically gingerbread.

03:02That's okay with me.

03:03I love gingerbread.

03:05You can get soft gingerbread, which I do prefer.

03:08But this one is definitely hard and crunchy.

03:12Regardless of its texture, the flavour is absolutely delicious.

03:17I think as well, gingerbread is such an autumnal flavour.

03:20So it works really well with the pumpkin design.

03:24So yeah, overall, I think these are two excellent additions from Greg's for Halloween.

03:28I would have been interested to see them maybe do a Halloween drink.

03:32And I'm sad to say that they haven't.

03:34But yeah, I would say these are definitely two excellent additions to Greg's for Halloween.
