00:00 Obsessed, an all-black affair was supposed to be a headlining moment for Trinidad singer
00:05 Keshif Alexander Sankar, better known by his stage name as K-Man 6.
00:11 Well, the event, which was carded for March 2 in St. Kitts and Nevis, has been cancelled
00:16 due to a decision to ban Sankar from performing there.
00:20 The Royal St. Christopher's St. Kitts and Nevis Police Force revealed this on Saturday,
00:25 as it stated that a comprehensive security assessment was executed in collaboration with
00:30 relevant local and regional authorities, and consultations were held with stakeholders
00:36 like the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
00:39 A view was held that K-Man 6's performance could negatively impact the population in
00:43 the country, as the police noted the endorsement of violence and criminal activities, which
00:50 they say are present in the artist's content, seemingly as a glorification of gang life.
00:56 The police said, quote, "The performance restriction on K-Man 6 aligns with the RSCNPF's ongoing
01:02 efforts to ensure that artists whose performances and content may pose security risks are not
01:08 permitted to perform within the country.
01:11 The meticulous evaluation of the potentially negative impact on public order and safety
01:17 bolsters our decision.
01:19 Public safety and security remains our top priority, and this decision further underscores
01:24 our dedication to maintaining such an environment for all citizens and residents."
01:33 Last month, some Grenadians rejected her performance on their island, as the artist had been slated
01:38 for a FET in celebration of their 50th Independence Anniversary.
01:44 Over the last 12 months, K-Man 6 has survived two shooting incidents, with mounting allegations
01:50 concerning the 6th Gang.
01:52 The artist was believed to be a target in a shooting incident in December on the Churchill
01:57 Roosevelt Highway near Spring Village, in which four people were killed, including an
02:02 innocent bystander.
