Our crime rap takes us to Northeastern Settlement off Ojo Road in Sangre Grandi, where a two-year-old
00:06
child was injured when a 23-year-old woman was attacked while holding the toddler.
00:11
It was at about 9am on Thursday that the victim was at her mother's workplace conducting
00:15
sales.
00:16
While seated outside the establishment with her daughter on her lap, she was confronted
00:19
by two women she knew.
00:21
The women began hitting her and her daughter.
00:23
A 54-year-old woman who was nearby attempted to intervene, but she was also beaten.
00:28
The purse containing $4,500 in cash was stolen and a 23-year-old cellular phone was smashed.
00:35
Our next stop is in Quarry Road in San Juan where gunmen opened fire on a Mercedes Benz
00:39
at about 2.26am on Thursday.
00:41
A 37-year-old bar manager told police that he was driving north along the roadway when
00:45
he slowed to maneuver a speed bump in the vicinity of George's Terrace.
00:50
He observed three men standing on the road holding firearms.
00:53
Without warning, the suspects opened fire on the vehicle.
00:56
The victim, fearing his life, sped away from the scene uninjured.
01:00
We head to Diggo Martin where a 44-year-old PH driver was plying his Mazda wagon and stopped
01:05
to pick up three men on the western main road near Massey Stores in Glencoe.
01:10
They asked to be taken to La Puerta.
01:12
Upon reaching the vicinity of the La Puerta Government Primary School, one of the men
01:15
asked to be let out and the driver stopped the car.
01:18
However, one of the individuals seated behind the driver placed his arms around the man's
01:23
neck and began choking him.
01:25
He heard the front passenger saying, shoot him, shoot him.
01:28
The suspects did not shoot, however, they beat the victim about the head and body.
01:32
He ran out of the car and fled the scene on foot, leaving behind his cellular phone in
01:36
the vehicle.
01:37
The suspects took the man's car and drove off.
01:40
In Freeport, a 51-year-old businessman told police that his licensed firearm, which was
01:45
outfitted with magazines that contained 40 rounds of 9mm ammunition, was stolen from
01:50
his home.
01:51
The man said he last saw the gun on November 26th in a safe located in his house.
01:55
However, on Thursday morning, he observed that the weapon was missing.
01:59
The man said he had not left the home for the past two days and that the only other
02:03
person who was in the home at the time was a female Venezuelan acquaintance from Piarco.
