00:00 Welcome to Mojo Plays and today we're looking super fly as we swing around New York City
00:05 in the best of the Spider-Man's extensive wardrobe.
00:09 There will be some slight story spoilers for some of these costumes so viewers beware.
00:21 Secret Wars Civil War Suit
00:27 Civil War was a major event within the comics that had lasting effects and multiple universes
00:33 also experiencing similar events, but some weren't as lucky as the main timeline and
00:39 their conflict continued to escalate.
00:42 The Civil War suit is inspired by one such universe in which tech from other heroes,
00:47 in this case specifically Falcon, were used in Spidey's suit and gives him a much more
00:53 function over form militaristic look to represent the ongoing war.
00:58 Falcon's wing tech also gets a cool shout out with this suit as instead of the traditional
01:03 web wings, Falcon's wings pop out from Spidey's pack.
01:07 Of course, there's multiple color options as well with some being more camouflage ready
01:12 than others.
01:19 Smoke and Mirror Suit
01:20 Designed specially for Spider-Man 2 by Insomniac and unlocked after completing all the Mysterio
01:26 missions to their conclusion, Miles adopts the world's greatest illusionist threads
01:32 to more fit his Spidey style.
01:34 While the suit is toned down for Mysterio's more dramatic and over the top design, thankfully
01:40 Miles elected to keep the fishbowl from the villain's original costume albeit with the
01:44 more traditional Spidey eyepieces as opposed to Mysterio's skull design.
01:50 Plus, with the multiple color options available, fans can finally live out their Power Rangers
01:56 fantasies in a virtual New York.
01:59 Iron Spider and Iron Armor
02:06 Originally appearing in the original 2018 game and based on the 2016 Civil War costume
02:12 worn by Peter during that comic series' run, the Iron Armor gets an upgrade from both those
02:17 versions due to the improved ray tracing effects and the color variations available are equally
02:24 stunning.
02:25 Alongside the original Iron Spider suit is the MCU version of this iconic armor, also
02:30 returning from Spidey's original outing.
02:33 And while there aren't any additional colors available for this suit, players do get the
02:37 chance to wear the black and gold version worn briefly by Peter during No Way Home when
02:42 he had to turn the suit inside out.
02:45 Myers and all are also perfectly represented here, but players will need to reach level
02:50 60 to unlock this special suit.
02:59 Biomechanical Suit
03:00 For those looking to give Miles a taste of the symbiote suit, those who pre-ordered the
03:05 game can have access to the Biomechanical Suit designed by artist Gerard Marantz from
03:10 the start of the game.
03:12 The suit combines both synthetic and mechanical components to resemble something H.R. Giger
03:17 might have designed had he been given a Spider-Man comic run.
03:21 The armor-like shell barely covers the exposed muscle tissue that feels like it's forcing
03:26 its way out of the damaged suit.
03:28 The mask even incorporates some of the more grotesque aspects of the spider side of Spider-Man,
03:34 particularly the mandibles.
03:36 Yikes.
03:38 Superior Suit
03:39 One of the sleekest options available for Peter in Spider-Man 2, the Superior Suit comes
03:51 from the comic book run in which Doc Ock transfers his consciousness into Peter, effectively
03:56 becoming the new Spider-Man.
03:58 Much like Peter in Spider-Man 2, Doc Ock incorporated his robotic limbs into the suit, and their
04:04 mechanism is visible with the giant spider emblem on the back of the suit.
04:09 Much like many of the other suits available in the game, this one also comes with multiple
04:13 variations, making it difficult to decide honestly which one is the coolest out of the
04:19 four.
04:26 Encoded Suit
04:32 After the closest Miles has come to his own version of the Iron Armor, the Encoded Suit
04:37 is another only available for those who pre-ordered the game, and for those who didn't, what's
04:42 wrong with you?
04:43 It's in Sonic the Hedgehog Spider-Man 2!
04:45 You knew it was going to be good!
04:47 The Encoded Suit also incorporates more cybernetic aesthetics into its design, as well as what
04:52 designer Chris Anka describes as "abstract lettering" that hides messages that call
04:57 back to popular phrases throughout the Spider-Man series.
05:01 We especially love that no matter how futuristic and cyberpunk the suit looks and feels, Miles
05:07 still found a way to incorporate his trusty sneakers into the suit's design.
05:18 Scarlet 3 Suit
05:19 Reminiscent of the Arachnid suit later on our list, the Scarlet 3 suit stands out not
05:25 only for the cowl, but also the striking color options available.
05:29 Pulling from the Ben Reilly Scarlet Spider comic book run, the symmetrical split of the
05:34 colors gives the suit an almost body armor-like appearance, and although the Arachnid suit
05:40 is only available for those who pre-ordered the game, the Scarlet 3 suit is one of the
05:44 first players can unlock at level 3, and it's a substantial step up from the Scarlet Spider
05:50 and Scarlet 2 suits available in 2018's Spider-Man.
05:54 Forever Suit
06:03 The MCU's own Black Panther, Chadwick Boseman, sadly passed away in 2020, and in Miles Morales's
06:09 solo outing the same year, Insomniac paid tribute to the late actor.
06:15 But with Spider-Man 2, Insomniac once again paid homage to the fallen king.
06:21 The Forever Suit, heavily inspired by Black Panther's costume and designed by artist
06:26 BossLogic, adds the familiar Black Panther ears to Miles's mask, as well as claw-like
06:32 designs to his feet and gloves.
06:34 Players can even pay their own respects to the late Chadwick Boseman by traveling to
06:38 the Wakandan Embassy in their Forever Suit, and Miles will perform the famous Wakandan
06:44 Forever salute.
06:49 Kumo Suit
07:01 Designed by artist Peach Momoko, the Kumo Suit, also the Japanese word for spider, is
07:07 heavily inspired by Japanese culture, as well as giving Spider-Man a modern samurai style.
07:14 Every variation of the suit pops with intricacy, and the placement of the tattoo-like designs
07:19 on the costume itself also gives the suit an almost mechanical or robotic feel, making
07:25 Peter effectively a futuristic ninja.
07:28 The eyes are especially, well, eye-catching, with their oversized outlines that skew closer
07:34 to an actual spider's eyes, complete with multiple eyes within the eyepieces themselves.
07:45 Strike Suit
07:46 The US might have SHIELD, but the UK has STRIKE, the Special Tactical Reserve for International
07:53 Key Emergencies.
07:54 They were really reaching for that acronym.
07:57 And this suit imagines what it would be like if Miles joined the secret organization across
08:03 the pond.
08:04 Miles' Strike Suit is not only his most armored look in the game, but also one of
08:09 the biggest standouts in design, with artist Dave Raposa setting out to make a design reminiscent
08:15 of the coolest action figures, and taking inspiration from the Gundam and Kamen Rider
08:20 anime series.
08:22 We'd say he definitely succeeded in his design, as Miles looks ready to walk out into a warzone
08:28 and deflect bullets without even breaking a sweat.
08:32 Anti-Venom Suit
08:38 Getting the Symbiote Suit was undeniably a power trip that players were sad to see go
08:43 after Peter freed himself from the suit, especially after having spent their precious upgrade
08:49 points unlocking all the Symbiote powers.
08:53 Thankfully, players got another shot at all those abilities near the game's end with
08:57 the Anti-Venom Suit, and we know we weren't the only ones grateful to see their return.
09:03 The stark white interspersed with the black spider outlines make the costume pop and stands
09:09 out among Spidey's usual wardrobe, and while there aren't any additional color variations,
09:14 it's hard to improve upon perfection.
09:23 City Sound Suit
09:34 A big part of Miles' character is his connection to his community, and that's no better exemplified
09:39 than with the City Sound Suit players earn by completing the Cultural Museum's side
09:44 mission.
09:45 The suit is a direct callback to the golden age of blues and jazz in the 1940s, complete
09:51 with the sweater-hat combo which was the style at the time.
09:55 In addition to unlocking the costume by completing the mission, players will also unlock the
10:00 museum itself that Miles can tour and get a quick history lesson on some of the greatest
10:05 blues and jazz players of all time, as well as how their music continues to inspire the
10:11 music of today.
10:20 Amazing Suit
10:28 One of the most requested suits in the 2018 game, Insomniac not only included the first
10:33 Amazing Spider-Man suit, complete with the iconic yellow eyes and enormous spider design,
10:39 but also the toned-down update from the Amazing Spider-Man 2.
10:43 Both versions of the suit shine, literally, in Spider-Man 2 with the suit's materials
10:49 making great use of the game's updated ray-tracing effects, and the sleek, more athletic design
10:55 skews closer to what someone who is constantly doing acrobatics would actually wear while
11:00 swinging through the skyline of New York City.
11:09 Dark Ages Suit
11:10 The comics remain an unending source of inspiration for some of the game's best suit designs,
11:16 as this time Insomniac took inspiration from the Dark Ages comic run, in which the world
11:21 is sent back to the Dark Ages after an EMP creates a world without electricity.
11:27 Fittingly for Insomniac's Spider-Man 2 game, the suit is created from Miles bonding with
11:32 both Venom and Carnage simultaneously, and the results are this masterpiece of horrific
11:38 design.
11:39 We're not gonna lie, we're especially big fans of the raised collar which gives Miles
11:44 a Count Dracula-like feel to match the Dark Ages timeline.
11:49 Webbed and Webbed Black Suit
11:58 When it comes to the live-action Spider-Man costumes, there are arguably none more iconic
12:03 than the Webbed Suit and the Webbed Black Suit from Sam Raimi's trilogy of Spider-Man
12:08 films, and Insomniac has perfectly recaptured them in Spider-Man 2.
12:14 Both of these costumes weren't available at launch in Spidey's original 2018 outing,
12:19 but Insomniac sought to rectify this issue by including them in the game day one.
12:25 The raised web design of the suit stand out from the rest of Peter's wardrobe, and fans
12:30 of the original Spider-Man films will be hard-pressed not to immediately switch to the Webbed Black
12:35 Suit the minute Peter comes into contact with the symbiote.
12:39 We know we definitely had to fight the urge.
12:51 Best There Is Suit
12:52 If you're looking for the best suit in the game, look no further than right here, bub.
12:57 With Wolverine being the next release in Insomniac's Marvel Universe, they decided to get a jump
13:02 on things and include a suit just for Miles based on Marvel's most popular X-Man.
13:08 Inspired by the What If comic in which Miles becomes Wolverine instead of Spider-Man, the
13:13 young hero of course has his own signature style, but the remaining options are all nods
13:19 to Logan's costumes over the many years, including his X-Force days.
13:25 But for our money, there's no beating the traditional yellow and blue.
13:30 Arachnid Suit
13:37 We're combining one from each of the Spider-Men for this entry as the pair of costumes are
13:41 too cool not to include both.
13:44 Sadly only available, for now anyways, as a pre-order bonus, the Arachnid Suit and Shadow
13:50 Spider Suit are inspired by the Infinity Warps comic from 2018, and combines both Spidey
13:57 and Moon Knight's costumes into one, while Miles's comes from the Champions run, also
14:02 from 2018, in which Miles is sent back to medieval times and becomes the rogue known
14:08 as the Shadow Spider.
14:09 The cape and cowl are amazing to see in action, and the cape is put to great use with the
14:15 Spidey's new web-wing ability, allowing him to fly between the rooftops with ease
14:20 all while looking like an absolute badass.
14:29 Into and Across the Spider-Verse
14:38 Sony's Into and Across the Spider-Verse movies are some of not only the best Spider-Man movies
14:43 ever made, but also a great introduction for newcomers to Miles Morales as Spider-Man.
14:50 Insomniac previously made the Into the Spider-Verse costume available for Miles in his solo outing,
14:56 and with Spider-Man 2, that suit is back again, alongside the updated version from the film's
15:01 sequel Across the Spider-Verse, as well as Miles's Spider-Boy suit complete with cape.
15:07 What makes these suits especially cool is not only do they maintain the movie's comic
15:12 book style, but they also run at a lower frame rate to match the films as well.
15:17 Peter also gets in on the action with the Spider-Noir suit, which features the same
15:22 comic book style and lower frame rate as Miles's outfits.
15:31 Symbiote Suit
15:39 We'd already seen brief glimpses of this suit in the promotional clips and images,
15:44 but seeing it in action is so, so much more.
15:48 The entire suit just feels alive, with an almost constant pulse running through the
15:53 entire suit that only intensifies the more bonded Peter becomes with the suit itself.
16:00 Seeing those tendrils explode from the suit is endlessly satisfying, as well as a visual
16:05 spectacle.
16:06 We also get a nice nod to the Lethal Protector version of the suit when Harry's powers
16:10 first manifest.
16:12 And for those who prefer a more classic, original look to the black suit, Insomniac included
16:17 that as well for those diehard comic book fans, complete with multiple shading options
16:22 to choose from, including the purple-hued version from the Ultimate Spider-Man incarnation.
16:28 Absolute Carnage Suit
16:46 We didn't think the Symbiote could get any cooler than when Peter donned the costume,
16:51 but boy were we wrong.
16:53 Insomniac had one last option in their closet for players to unlock at level 60, with the
16:58 Absolute Carnage Suit for Miles.
17:01 The suit feels and looks alive, with tendrils spiking off various points of Miles' body,
17:08 to the point where just the sight of it would make any potential evildoer more likely to
17:12 surrender than put up a fight.
17:15 Sadly, the costume is missing the additional arms Miles was sporting in the comic version
17:19 of this costume, but the multiple collar styles, each worse than the last, more than makes
17:25 up for this oversight.
17:32 What threads did you sport for your playthrough of Spider-Man 2?
