00:00Take care.
00:05You gonna be okay getting back?
00:08Welcome to MojoPlays, and I finally just got around to finishing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth,
00:12so now I'm super keen to talk about what we can expect from here.
00:16These are 10 theories about Final Fantasy VII Part 3.
00:19Some of these theories make sense, some of these theories are just good fun,
00:22and some of these theories are so crackpotty that it almost makes sense again.
00:26Let's go.
00:27Before we continue, we publish content all week long,
00:30so be sure to subscribe and ring the bell to get notified of our latest videos.
00:35Advent Children
00:47For those who don't know, there is a Final Fantasy VII movie titled Final Fantasy VII Advent Children,
00:52which follows Cloud, Tifa, and a handful of new characters in a sequel story to the original game.
00:57Without giving away too much about the plot, there are events like the mysterious illness of Geostigma
01:02that take place throughout the film that are direct results of the ending of the game and the way Sephiroth
01:06was killed.
01:07It could be worth hinting at throughout the third entry, or even exploring in post-game content.
01:12We may even see the creation of, or birth for lack of a better word, of Kodaj, Loz, and Yazoo,
01:17following the death of Sephiroth.
01:19Even after everything we've done to it, it's still going strong.
01:24Tifa and the Lifestream
01:41One of Tifa's most significant character developments in Rebirth
01:45occurs when Cloud unexpectedly sends her into the Lifestream.
01:48We say unexpectedly because that's not supposed to happen yet.
01:52During this sequence, she directly connects with the planet through the two weapons,
01:56making this one of the more substantial deviations from the OG story,
01:59setting up later moments to hopefully flesh them out and make them less obscure.
02:03Simply put, I believe Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 will explore this aspect of Tifa's journey much further.
02:10In Rebirth, her newfound knowledge never fully comes into play,
02:13which seemingly sets the stage for Tifa to have a much larger role in relation to the planet in the
02:18Lifestream
02:18in the next installment, through genuine connection, not a trip and a fall.
02:23If that was too vague to understand, you should play the original, because that was a funny gag.
02:39A new Final Boss
02:47Let me say this entry with an important preface.
02:49Players will likely still face Sephiroth as the final boss of Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3,
02:55but let's just explore the possibility that something different could happen.
02:59It's highly unlikely that Sephiroth will simply vanish before the final showdown
03:02or suddenly have a change of heart.
03:04However, given the overarching themes of Defying Fate and Altering History,
03:08there's clearly something bigger at play.
03:10Who else might we fight?
03:12Some force is manipulating the timeline, ensuring that Final Fantasy VII's key events unfold as they always have.
03:17This raises the possibility that the final boss of Remake Part 3 could be the true mastermind behind the whispers,
03:23or even a physical embodiment of fate itself.
03:26If Sephiroth's death created Kadaj, Loz and Yazoo, who knows what else it created?
03:31Maybe we'll fight Sephiroth from multiple timelines, who knows?
03:33Just expect the unexpected.
03:49Zack will return.
04:09One of the biggest changes to the original story has been the involvement of Zack,
04:14and particularly the unexpected merging of our timelines cloud and this alternate timeline, Zack.
04:19I'd be surprised if this version of Zack didn't make a return in the third entry of the Remake.
04:24His final line, who's to say, as in their world, can't unite again, all but set it up,
04:29and it would be strange for Square Reigns to leave Zack's story hanging,
04:32just as he's clinging to the possibility of reuniting with his friends.
04:36So I say that we can safely expect him to play a role when Cloud and the others set out
04:40to defeat Sephiroth and save the world,
04:42and maybe we can get out of this experience with everyone's lives intact in one form or another.
04:48It all felt way too real.
04:53Just as worlds unite, so too do they part.
05:01But who's to say, they can't unite again?
05:05Post-game content.
05:08It's Avalanche's fault we're gonna have it.
05:10I tell you.
05:10Everyone, please, one at a time.
05:14One major way Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 could significantly reshape the original ending
05:19is by introducing post-game content.
05:22And I don't mean finishing everything before the final boss.
05:24I mean post-final boss content.
05:27Modern RPGs often allow players to continue exploring after the main story concludes,
05:31and this is mostly by following the outcome of the final moments of these games.
05:35The final chapter of Final Fantasy VII Part 3 could unlock an epilogue,
05:39perhaps focusing on the aftermath of Midgar's destruction and beyond.
05:43This might include the city's reconstruction,
05:45the consequences of Sephiroth's defeat,
05:47and the long-term impact on our party.
05:50Basically, I just want to see if Barret finally goes home to look after his goddamn daughter.
05:54Bob's Intel Objectives!
06:02A Cathartic Romance
06:04So, I heard you and Tifa go way back.
06:09Yeah.
06:11I also heard she used to have a pretty big crush on you.
06:16That's so.
06:17The romantic subplot in Final Fantasy VII always felt underdeveloped,
06:21with the game essentially steering players towards Tifa,
06:24even if they'd been pursuing Aerith.
06:26Obviously, you take what's available.
06:28That's so dark, I'm sorry.
06:29The remake, however, has put in much more effort to let players influence the romance.
06:34That said, Rebirth didn't exactly deliver a satisfying romantic payoff either.
06:39After all the build-up, it felt like players' efforts led to little more than a kiss
06:42before the story immediately shifted back to saving the world.
06:45Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 needs to provide a truly meaningful and cathartic romantic conclusion,
06:51one that feels like a real payoff for the players' choices.
07:07Final Fantasy VII Remake Parts
07:08We actually matter.
07:10Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 4
07:16The original Final Fantasy VII ending, while emotionally powerful,
07:20is a little dissatisfying if you look into the details.
07:23The planet's survival has almost nothing to do with our efforts.
07:26It's pretty much inevitable, which undercuts our journey.
07:30We don't have time to get into it, but the planet basically saves itself.
07:33So if the asteroid was never going to destroy the world, did our actions even matter?
07:37Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 has a chance to change this
07:41by making the team's efforts truly decisive in stopping Sephiroth.
07:45I don't know how, but just do it, Square Enix.
07:48Come on, do it.
07:56Rufus Shinra is the big baddie.
08:14Rufus takes a notable departure from the original Final Fantasy VII in Rebirth,
08:18particularly with Glenn haunting him like a spooky ghost.
08:21With Shinra's war against Wutai set to play a major role in the next instalment,
08:25it's safe to assume Rufus will be heavily involved in this conflict.
08:28He's struggling to get out from under his father's shadow
08:30and stands as Cloud's second biggest antagonist.
08:33The fleshing out of the story and characters,
08:35as well as Rufus showing up in his own cutscenes and moments made to explore his story
08:39makes it fairly assured that his villain role will have a much bigger place than in the original.
08:44We must look instead to the promise of tomorrow,
08:48for today is a new day,
08:50and the first of a long, arduous journey which we must take together.
08:56Everyone gets their ending.
09:05Let's get into it,
09:06because this is the entry I feel the most passionate about.
09:09Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 should provide definitive endings for all major characters.
09:15The original game left their fates ambiguous,
09:18offering no real confirmation of what happened to them after the world was saved.
09:21While fans could turn to later games or movies for answers,
09:24they still have a lot of holes that remain empty.
09:27Red XIII had an ending which provided closure.
09:30This is the kind of Resolution Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 should aim for with everyone else.
09:45Bring Aerith back.
09:46Take care.
09:52You gonna be okay getting back?
09:58And if I said I wasn't...
10:00Aerith's death in the original Final Fantasy VII
10:03is one of the most, or possibly the most,
10:05emotionally impactful moment in gaming history.
10:08However, the Remake trilogy has already introduced enough ambiguity around her fate,
10:13enough to at least set us up for a possible change.
10:15Rebirth makes it clear that while Aerith is undeniably dead in the main timeline,
10:19she might not be dead everywhere.
10:21The concept of clashing realities like in the final battle of Part 2
10:25raises the possibility of her crossing over from another timeline.
10:29Could she survive?
10:30Absolutely.
10:31Her potential survival isn't just about fan service.
10:34It would allow for deeper character development
10:36and a more meaningful exploration of her relationship with Cloud.
10:40But also, what a fan service it would be.
