00:03Welcome to Mojo Plays, where today we'll be diving into 10 DLCs that fixed or vastly
00:08improved the original base game. Before we get started, we post new videos all week long,
00:20so be sure to subscribe to Mojo Plays and ring that bell to be notified about our latest videos.
00:26Undead Nightmare – Red Dead Redemption Rockstar wasn't known for traditional
00:35DLCs, but Undead Nightmare was an exception. Instead of the usual, here's some new missions
00:40pack, they gave us a full-blown horror-themed adventure set in the Wild West. The best part?
00:46It actually improved the Red Dead Redemption experience. While the base game was already
00:50fantastic, this DLC introduced an eerie, zombie-infested world that added variety to the gameplay.
01:03Towns could be overrun, forcing players to clear them out, and new supernatural creatures
01:08gave combat a fresh spin. Plus, hunting mythical creatures like the Four Horses of the Apocalypse
01:13were just awesome. It was a weird, risky concept that worked brilliantly, proving that Rockstar
01:18wasn't afraid to have a little fun with their best games.
01:28Far Harbor – Fallout 4
01:36While Fallout 4 had its strengths, many players felt it lacked the deep roleplaying choices
01:41of its predecessors. That's where Far Harbor came in. This expansion took players to a miscovered
01:46island filled with mysterious factions, Lovecraftian horror vibes, and an actual detective story
01:52where choices really mattered. Unlike the base game, Far Harbor brought back the kind of moral
01:57ambiguity that defined Fallout New Vegas. Every decision had weight, every faction had flaws, and
02:09the ending was never black and white. Plus, the creepy atmosphere and dangerous new creatures made
02:14survival more intense. If Fallout 4 left some fans disappointed, Far Harbor reminded them why they
02:19loved the series in the first place. Wrath of the Lich King – World of Warcraft
02:30When World of Warcraft launched, it was already a juggernaut. But it wasn't without flaws. The
02:35leveling grind was tedious, endgame content felt lacking, and player-versus-player balance needed work.
02:41Wrath of the Lich King didn't just fix those problems, but it introduced some of the most beloved content in
02:46the
02:46game's history. The continent of Northrend was packed with engaging quests, dungeons, and one of the
02:51best villain arcs in any MMO. Death Knights added a whole new way to play, while features like achievements
03:01and dual-spec made gameplay smoother. It refined nearly every system, delivering a peak era for WoW.
03:07If you ask long-time fans when the game was at its best, they'll probably say during Wrath.
03:18Extended Cuts – Mass Effect 3
03:21There is no choice. We must go. Now.
03:28Few endings in gaming sparked as much outrage as Mass Effect 3's original conclusion.
03:34After years of choices that shaped Shepard's story, players were furious when they realized the
03:38endings boiled down to pressing one of three buttons with minimal variation. Enter the Extended Cut.
03:44This free DLC didn't rewrite the ending, but it expanded on it in ways that provided much-needed closure.
03:57Additional cutscenes fleshed out the consequences of each choice, squadmates got proper send-offs,
04:02and the infamous pick-a-color decision felt less hollow. It wasn't perfect, but it was a huge improvement
04:08over what we originally got. Let's be honest, if Bioware had just done this in the first place,
04:13they could have avoided all the internet rage.
04:21The Ballad of Gay Tony – Grand Theft Auto 4
04:29For all its praise, Grand Theft Auto 4 had one major complaint. It was just a little… dreary. The story
04:36was dark, the colors were muted, and the game took itself way more seriously than previous entries.
04:41The Ballad of Gay Tony was the perfect antidote. This DLC brought back the wild,
04:46over-the-top action that made GTA San Andreas so much fun.
04:53You played as Luis Lopez, right-hand man to nightclub owner Tony Prince, diving headfirst into
04:59the glamorous and dangerous nightlife of Liberty City. Jetpacks? No. Parachuting onto moving vehicles?
05:05Yes. Explosive shootouts with tanks and helicopters? Absolutely. It was pretty much
05:10everything GTA 4 needed to feel more like GTA.
05:21The Old Hunters – Bloodborne
05:28As amazing as Bloodborne was, its biggest flaw was a lack of weapon variety. Compared to the
05:33Arsenal and Dark Souls, players felt restricted. Then the Old Hunters came in and changed everything.
05:39This expansion took the time to add more weapons as well as adding some of the coolest weapons in the
05:45entire Soulsborne series. The Whirligigs saw alone made the DLC worth playing. But it wasn't just about
05:55the new gear. The Old Hunters introduced brutal new bosses, nightmarish locations, and deepened the
06:00lore in ways that made the game even richer. It felt like a true evolution of Bloodborne,
06:05fixing one of its few weaknesses while giving hardcore fans exactly what they wanted – more punishment.
06:20Reaper of Souls – Diablo 3
06:30Diablo 3 at launch was… rough. The loot system was broken, the always online requirement was frustrating,
06:37and let's not even talk about the Auction House. Blizzard listened to the criticism,
06:41and Reaper of Souls was the fix the game desperately needed. The expansion overhauled the loot system,
06:47making legendary drops actually feel special, and got rid of the pay-to-win mess of the Auction House.
06:57The new Adventure Mode gave players a reason to keep grinding, and the Crusader class added more
07:03variety to combat. Reaper of Souls managed to improve Diablo 3, pretty much saving it in the process.
07:09Without this expansion, the game might have been remembered as one of Blizzard's biggest missteps.
07:14No one can stop death.
07:20The following, Dying Light
07:26Dying Light was a great concept, with a slightly repetitive execution. By the end,
07:31running across rooftops and smashing zombies started to feel a little stale. The following
07:36completely changed the game's formula. Instead of a dense city, the DLC introduced a massive open
07:41countryside where vehicles became a necessity. The buggy wasn't just a new way to get around,
07:46it was a customizable, upgradeable zombie-crushing machine.
07:53Add in a creepy cult storyline, new mutations, and some truly intense boss fights, and the following
07:59became the definitive Dying Light experience. It turned a fun but flawed game into something truly
08:05special, proving that sometimes, all you need is a little horsepower, and a lot of spikes.
08:13Broken Steel
08:14Fallout 3
08:16Well, it's good to see that you're on your feet again.
08:19Few things in gaming are more frustrating than a bad ending, and Fallout 3 had one of the worst.
08:25No matter what you did, the game just… ended. No continuing after the main quest,
08:29and no seeing the consequences of your choices. Broken Steel changed that. It not only let players
08:35continue after the story, but it also raised the level cap, added new quests, and expanded on the
08:40Brotherhood of Steel's role.
08:42Paladin Tristan is leading the team setting up forward base in an old car tunnel near the site.
08:48More importantly, it fixed one of the most disappointing moments in Fallout history,
08:52allowing players to send in a radiation immune companion instead of heroically dying for no
08:57reason. This DLC wasn't just great, it was necessary.
09:07Phantom Liberty Cyberpunk 2077
09:10At launch, Cyberpunk 2077 was a mess. Game-breaking bugs, missing features, and an AI system that
09:25barely functioned. While patches helped, it was Phantom Liberty that truly redeemed the game.
09:30This expansion didn't just add a new storyline, it overhauled Cyberpunk's core mechanics. The police
09:36system finally worked, combat felt smoother, and the skill tree was redesigned for actual player choice.
09:46On top of that, Phantom Liberty had one of the best stories in the game,
09:49featuring Idris Elba as a major character. It was proof that Cyberpunk 2077 could finally
09:55live up to its potential. It took three years, but hey, better late than never.
10:03I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for you.
