00:04Welcome to MojoPlays! Today we're looking at 10 things written into the
00:09Assassin's Creed franchise that will make you scratch your head and wonder
00:12why is this in here? Of course, there are major spoilers ahead.
00:17Look at me now!
00:20Let's talk buddy. Before we continue, be sure to subscribe to our channel and ring
00:25the bell to get notified about our latest videos.
00:30Desmond's son. I'm a bartender for Christ's sakes!
00:33What do you want me to do? Teach you how to mix a martini?
00:36We know who you are. What you are. Even if you've managed to get 100%
00:41completion on every single game, from the niche handheld titles to the
00:45mainline entries, you've probably never encountered Elijah.
00:50Introduced in the comic Assassin's Creed Uprising,
00:52he's Desmond's one and only child. At least, that we know of.
00:57We have close to zero information on his mother, but we do know that he's a sage,
01:02and one of Uprising's central characters. Currently, he's been assumed dead since
01:07the comic's conclusion alongside Juno, the main villain. If you'd like to learn more,
01:12you'll have to read Uprising, as the plotline has been abandoned since 2018.
01:16And has this been a part of their plan all alone? Maybe they want the world to end. To see
01:21it all
01:21burned away. Then they'd have their new world, ripe for the reshaping.
01:27The Templars killed Jesus.
01:29Show this fool knight what it is to have no fear!
01:34Go to God!
01:36During his lifetime, Jesus wasn't that widely known outside the Levant. He was a preacher and
01:41a rabbi who became way more influential after dying, rather than before. In this franchise,
01:47that wasn't the case, but it turns out he had Isu technology. This gave him his magical powers,
01:53which in turn attracted Templar attention. The Templars therefore became responsible for his
01:59crucifixion, rather than it just being Pontius Pilate. Such knowledge has caused a plethora of fan
02:04theories, like Jesus being an Isu agent. This means he was using his pieces of Eden to try
02:10and re-enslave humanity, which came in the form of Christianity. It's barely been developed by
02:15Ubisoft, probably because it's a touchy subject. Destroy it as you said you would. I... I can't.
02:25Who killed Genghis Khan? Humanity's most famous conqueror, Genghis Khan, died because he fell off
02:31of his horse and got ill, according to some historians. In this series, his conquering came
02:36from the Sword of Eden, as opposed to tactics and military innovation. Also, he was killed by an
02:43assassin. And not just any assassin, but Altair's son, Darum. At least partly, he also got help from
02:50Quelan Gaul, a prominent member of the Mongolian Creed. Altair, Darum, and Quelan hatched a plan to
02:56sneak into Genghis's camp, but old man Altair was far past his prime. After a brief setback,
03:02Quelan managed to snipe Genghis off his horse. Then Darum finished the job, at least according to
03:08the comic Assassin's Creed Reflections. Random historical figures being Templars.
03:14One of my experimental projects when I was Lord of the Admirants. I haven't always been a man of shadows.
03:20So everyone knows a whole bunch of historical figures also turned out to be Templars,
03:24mainly the ones featured in the games. If you were especially keen on the lore,
03:29you will know there's a whole bunch more rarely focused on. For instance, Henry Ford was one of
03:34Abstergo's founding members. Not only this, but he helped supply Hitler with powerful pieces of Eden,
03:40which he used to briefly dominate Europe. A few decades down the line, Henry Kissinger would also
03:46become a Templar. Going further back in time, other notable Templars include England's King Arthur,
03:51Rome's Emperor Caligula, and China's An Lushan, among others.
03:56I will undo all that you have done. I will rebuild the Brotherhood and recruit those who wish to make
04:03our land a place of freedom.
04:05The Kenway Family.
04:07This little rascal, however, is a Kenway.
04:11What's wrong, Haytham?
04:12Every fan knows the major players in the Kenway family, Edward and Haytham. Few are aware of the
04:19more obscure members, Tessa and Jennifer, Edward's second wife and her daughter, respectively.
04:24After the events of Black Flag, the pair decided to go on a pilgrimage to Singapore to save Edward,
04:30who had sailed there. After successful mission, they returned to London, where Haytham was then born.
04:35Of the two, Jennifer has the more interesting story, ending up as a concubine in Istanbul because of a
04:41Templar scheme, and then killing the Templar Grand Master in France. She was particularly
04:47fascinating for wanting Templars and Assassins to become friends rather than fight, a sentiment shared
04:52by a few characters.
04:54Will you stay with the Assassins?
04:57No, I haven't got that kind of conviction in my heart.
05:00Rebecca and Sean's marriage.
05:02Introduced way back in AC2, this pair has been the most frequently occurring modern-day characters.
05:08Despite that fact, they've barely been a focus since Desmond's death.
05:12They appeared in Valhalla, now both much older than they were in the earlier games.
05:17Also, for some reason, they're married, which is barely explained.
05:21Jown the pants right off where I did.
05:23Yeah, right. I know for a fact you didn't even get to second base.
05:27You have to hunt through anomalies to find out, which is strange because a lot of fans
05:32never imagined they were romantically involved. Another question is how did they even get married,
05:37when the two of them have been on the run for more than a decade?
05:40Ubisoft aids the Templars.
05:43Impressive, right? This building is barely six months old,
05:46but Abstergo Entertainment has been a studio for a few years, since 2010.
05:51In Black Flag, the modern-day story is a first-person hackathon,
05:54playing as an Abstergo employee sifting through Edward Kenway's life.
05:58If you're particularly keen on this part of the game,
06:01you might be able to find the most meta easter egg in the series.
06:05Abstergo is partly responsible for creating Liberation and Pirates of Nightmares,
06:10which are the in-game versions of Liberation and Black Flag.
06:14The other company which helped was an in-game version of Ubisoft.
06:17So, Ubisoft developed the games, in which they developed the games, also in Montreal.
06:23It doesn't change much, but it's a cool easter egg.
06:26This summer, Abstergo Entertainment invites you aboard for the adventure of a lifetime.
06:33So sharpen your cutlasses, shine your hooks, and sail with the devils of the Caribbean.
06:41This virtual experience is not being waited.
06:43The moon landing was a Templar heist.
06:46Some of the stuff I'm seeing in the Animus, sometimes it seems wrong.
06:50Untrue, like the history is off somehow.
06:52Everyone knows how two Americans first landed on the moon back in 1969,
06:57a monumental moment for mankind.
07:00In reality, it was primarily a scientific endeavor.
07:03In Assassin's Creed, it was secretly a plot to steal an apple of Eden.
07:07It's revealed in a glyph in AC-2, which lets us know Lyndon B. Johnson was a Templar.
07:12The organization was also responsible for killing JFK,
07:16so they could prevent him from letting the Soviets grab the moon's apple.
07:19The mission was a huge success, with Templar Buzz Aldrin stealing the apple,
07:24and then bringing it back home for Abstergo.
07:27Let me ask you something.
07:28Do these supposed experts have access to secret knowledge, kept hidden from the rest of us?
07:34Humans were made for cheap labor.
07:36So we all know the Isu lived thousands of years before our time,
07:40and as revealed by the second game's glyphs, they created Adam and Eve.
07:44Not only them, but the entirety of humanity, who were genetically engineered by the Isu.
07:50What most fans don't seem to realize is that they did this purely for cheap labor.
07:55Their creator was named Fans, as part of Project Atropos.
07:59He ended up falling head over heels for one human lady who gave birth to their child, Eve.
08:05All humans had neurotransmitters which made them slaves to the apples of Eden,
08:09but fans removed his lovers, thus giving humans their freedom.
08:14Altair's Crush on the Holy Grail
08:16Few fans have played the Nintendo DS game Altair's Chronicles, a title largely forgotten to time.
08:22It's a prequel to the original, which recounts the time Altair tried to find the Holy Grail,
08:27also called the Chalice. After running around key collecting,
08:31the game's twist reveals that Chalice was a woman all along.
08:34She's revealed to be Adha, who becomes romantically involved with the Assassin.
08:38Unfortunately, the Templars get away with her, and while Altair vows to save her,
08:43he never does. It's never followed up, so we have no clue what powers she possessed,
08:48if any, and what the Templars did with her.
08:51What's the weirdest piece of Assassin's Creed lore you happen to know?
08:55Leave it in the comments below.
08:57No books. No wisdom. Just you, Fratello Mio.
