00:07Welcome to Mojo Plays, and today we're taking a look at 20 meaty games that you
00:12could easily lose hundreds of hours in. Before we begin we publish new videos
00:22all week long, so be sure to subscribe to Mojo Plays and ring the bell to be
00:26notified about our latest videos. Vampire Survivors
00:40Beware of the granddaddy of the bullet heaven subgenre. Once you go through a
00:44run or two of Vampire Survivors it'll be hard to tear yourself away from the game.
00:49The different projectiles and visual effects are already mesmerizing to watch
00:53regardless if you're playing the game or watching somebody else play. However, the
00:58various secrets hidden across each map coupled with the handful of DLC
01:01expansions make this an insanely meaty game. Soon enough you'll be wanting to try
01:07to finish every single level with every single character.
01:14Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
01:26If you've ever wanted to experience medieval Europe, well, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 will deliver just that.
01:34Yes, there is a grand adventure with a story to follow. You can chase that tale if you want, but
01:39you're most likely going to get distracted by other things.
01:42Hone your sword fighting skills, dabble in alchemy, become a notorious thief, or simply trot around the land on your
01:49horse.
01:49Whatever you wind up doing, you're probably going to rack up hundreds upon hundreds of hours in this game before
01:55you realize what little you've truly accomplished.
01:58It can either put a dead man back on his feet, or make sure he never gets up again. So,
02:06consider yourself lucky.
02:08I will.
02:09Sid Meier's Civilization 7
02:11For in peace, sons bury fathers. But in war, fathers bury sons.
02:21The Civilization series is already known for extensive play sessions. The single game can take several hours to finish, sometimes
02:28days if you're going against difficult AI or expert level players.
02:32Call it recency bias, but Civilization 7 is definitely a game you can invest in for the long term if
02:37you choose to jump in now.
02:39While the core is the same, certain mechanics have caused the entire community to basically relearn the game from scratch.
02:46In other words, play now to learn with everybody else, and stay for the expansions that will inevitably make you
02:52rethink your strategies later on and basically relearn the whole game from scratch again.
03:04Power Wash Simulator
03:14While we're on the subject of games with media expansions, Power Wash Simulator has been going strong since its launch
03:20in 2022.
03:22Just the base game alone can take a solo washer 40 to 50 hours to complete.
03:26The thing is that within the last few years, Power Wash Simulator has been updated with new levels and more
03:33expansions.
03:33Clean up a haunted house or Santa's workshop, or tidy up more familiar locations from across Shrek, Final Fantasy 7,
03:41or Wallace and Gromit.
03:42No matter which jobs you tackle, you'll wind up clocking in roughly 100 hours of playtime by the time you're
03:48truly finished.
03:49Even then, you might have some friends who would love to join in on the clean fun.
03:54Take it from me, I have roughly 200, maybe 300 hours clocked in on this game.
04:06Monster Hunter Wilds
04:17Even though it is still fresh out of the oven as we were putting this video together, we all know
04:22what we're in for with Monster Hunter Wilds.
04:25Every game on its own offers up a wealth of missions that will test our mettle with unique beasts to
04:30fight.
04:31Wilds is more of that, but with the proper setting for a live service model.
04:35Capcom has already confirmed that more creatures will be added into the game, and if the monumental success of Monster
04:41Hunter World is anything to go by,
04:43Wilds will likely have expansions as well that could add new regions.
04:47Be prepared to hear people talk about this game for quite a while.
04:59Ballatro
05:07Don't knock it just because it's a card game.
05:10Ballatro is the most deep and complex card game we have seen in this space for quite some time.
05:16On the surface, this is just a game where you try to play various poker hands, but that's only a
05:21fraction of the equation.
05:22Ballatro demands experimentation through its hundreds of Joker cards.
05:27Cards that can effectively boost your score by adding chips or increasing your multiplier when certain conditions are met.
05:33Between Joker cards, card packs, and tarot cards, you can find a wealth of crazy, game-breaking builds that will
05:40turn even the biggest blinds into complete jokes.
05:43The number of permutations is almost endless, so you'll end up clocking in way more time than you may have
05:50initially intended.
05:58Tales of Arise
06:00You didn't figure it out already?
06:02Yeah, that's right.
06:04This lady's got herself a surname, which means one thing.
06:07She's a renin, our enemy.
06:09Generally, you could spend roughly a hundred hours in each Tales game.
06:13Be it Berseria, Symphonia, Vesperia, or any other game in the franchise, they are all meaty JRPGs.
06:20But if you don't want to worry about massive timelines, Tales of Arise is the game to start with.
06:26It is the Tales formula with the most refined controls and mechanics compared to most entries.
06:31Plus, the base game and the Beyond the Dawn expansion wind up bringing the total playtime required to at least
06:37a hundred hours.
06:39And trust us when we say that Arise has one of the most compelling stories in the franchise,
06:43right up there with the aforementioned titles from earlier.
06:52Like a Dragon, Infinite Wealth
07:03Much like the Tales games, you could easily spend well over a hundred hours in each Yakuza or Like a
07:09Dragon game.
07:10Of them all, Infinite Wealth might be the meatiest entry in the entire franchise.
07:15Initially, you have your standard Like a Dragon fare, a serious story packed with some goofy minigames and side missions
07:22like Crazy Delivery, a Low Happies Photo Rally, and Mismatch.
07:27But that's just the Like a Dragon third of the game.
07:29The other two thirds of Infinite Wealth are practically entire games of their own.
07:35You got the Tsujiman League, which sees you capturing and training hooligans of all kinds and being the best trainer
07:41like no one ever was.
07:42Then you have Dondoko Island, which lets you build your own Hawaiian resort in a manner similar to Animal Crossing.
07:48And could you believe everything we mentioned is just scratching the surface?
08:01Re-Fantasio
08:09You want to talk about JRPGs where you can truly get lost in the world and immerse yourself?
08:14Re-Fantasio is definitely that kind of game.
08:18For starters, the different archetypes you can have characters take on can lead to all kinds of different play styles.
08:24As for you lore dorks out there, you will come across a plethora of books within the world that will
08:29not only give you tips on combat techniques,
08:32they also provide more insight on the world's history and mythology.
08:36Between the malleable gameplay and the amount of lore there is,
08:39Metaphor Re-Fantasio will certainly keep you busy way longer than you might have thought.
08:51Dragon Quest XI Echoes of an Elusive Age
09:04Yet again we have a long running JRPG where almost every installment will rack up hundreds of hours of playtime.
09:10Although, the reason we put Dragon Quest XI as the rep here is because it truly is the best game
09:16in the series.
09:17From the incredible story of your character the Luminary to the splendorous and stunning visuals,
09:23Dragon Quest XI is a game where you'll want to dive in the second you leave your character's village.
09:28And if you're wanting to see every location, fight every boss, max out every character's stats, and take part in
09:34every minigame,
09:35be prepared to spend months playing this one.
09:45Hades
09:51Once you go through one run, it's hard to put this down.
09:55Hades strikes an excellent balance of high stress and low relaxation within such short timeframes.
10:02You can easily spend 30-40 minutes trying to escape the underworld,
10:05and spend about half that speaking the characters, improving relationships, and setting things up for your next run.
10:12On top of that, none of your runs will feel the same as one before.
10:16Though boons may repeat, you're constantly having to make decisions to alter your route depending on certain rewards.
10:23Garner a new boon, grab a palm to beef up a boon you already have, or just try to nab
10:28some gold?
10:29You'll just have to work with what's given to you.
10:33Consider that a reimbursement for last time.
10:36Baldur's Gate 3
10:38Lackiff blesses me this day. Together, we might survive.
10:44To see everything that Baldur's Gate 3 has to offer means you would have to quit playing any other game
10:49for at least a year or two.
10:51And that's a generous estimate.
10:53This game is so massive with its different character interactions, romance options, side quests, and such,
10:59that it took most of the gaming community a month to get through just the first act.
11:04But what else would you expect from a Dungeons & Dragons video game?
11:08Developer Larian Studios has said that it'll take the average player between 75 and 100 hours to finish a single
11:14playthrough.
11:15But again, if you want to experience as much as there is in Baldur's Gate 3, you might have to
11:22go for a second campaign. And maybe a fourth.
11:31Elden Ring
11:39While we're on the subject of games that require multiple playthroughs to see everything, Elden Ring typically takes the average
11:46player around 60 hours to finish.
11:48The thing is, that's assuming the average player A knows what they're doing from the get-go, and B knows
11:55exactly where to go for an optimal playthrough.
11:58Yeah, there's no way most of us are playing that way anyways, especially when farming is almost a requirement to
12:05get through certain areas.
12:06What we're trying to say is, don't be surprised if your playthrough exceeds those 60 hours and gets into… the
12:13triple digits.
12:15Especially if you're trying to see and do everything.
12:22Cyberpunk 2077
12:29Back when I, Ty, reviewed Cyberpunk 2077, I had managed to see and do everything in the game in a
12:36total of 96 hours playing as Male V with Pan Am as my bromance option.
12:42Those 96 hours also include going through each of the multiple endings.
12:47So imagine wanting to play the game as a completely different version of V, maybe one that's got more attitude
12:53or a deeper focus on cyberware.
12:55Or perhaps play as a V with a different backstory.
12:59After all, you'll get a completely different backstory and meet Jackie in a different way, as well as unlock unique
13:05dialogue options in certain encounters.
13:08And that's including both main encounters and side missions.
13:12In other words, there is plenty of reason to go for another 90 to 100 hours.
13:18I'm still working on my second playthrough, man.
13:21Alright. Evelyn's a doll. Used to work at Clouds.
13:26Seed case on my table's got the address. Take it, and once you find Evelyn, give it to her.
13:31The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
13:41Look, if you blasted through Tears of the Kingdom just for the main story, you're missing an entire second half
13:46to your game.
13:47Tears of the Kingdom is substantially bigger than its predecessor, Breath of the Wild, because of how much there is
13:53to do.
13:54More side quests, more shrines, more puzzles, more environments to explore and interact with, and that's just scratching the surface.
14:01Besides, if you're really desperate to just stay in this new iteration of Hyrule, then, uh, there are 1,000
14:09Korok seeds to collect.
14:11Hey, you wanted to inflate your game time, there it is.
14:14This all aligns with what I've read during my studies.
14:18And then this. It shows the Demon King.
14:22Red Dead Redemption 2
14:30You absolutely can play through Red Dead Redemption 2 like any normal video game.
14:35For some though, this is Cowboy Simulator 2018.
14:39It isn't enough to just sit through the main story when you can sit down for a game of poker,
14:45go hunting, or search for bounties.
14:47Or, if you're really that bored, you can try to live out your fantasy of being the most wanted outlaw
14:52in the Wild Wild West.
14:54Everyone's got their own flavor of yeehaws and cow rope, and no matter which way you want to go about
14:59your cowboy-themed second life, it is more than possible to get carried away.
15:05There's no way that we're getting out that door! Take this! The wall hole through that wall!
15:11The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim
15:20We've seen speedrunners exploit bugs to finish Skyrim in record time, but to finish even the main story is a
15:26next to impossible task.
15:28It is extremely easy to get distracted by some other side quest, making its presence known, all because you took
15:35a small detour into some cave you stumbled upon.
15:38And then there's the eventual desire to just wipe out all of Whiterun for giggles and see how long you
15:44can go with the guards before your imminent capture and or death.
15:47Skyrim literally sucks you in long enough to where you completely forgot there is a main story.
15:53Or at least, there was a main story.
15:57Persona 5 Royal
16:05We could have chosen many other JRPGs, Dragon Quest, The Legend of Heroes, a personal favorite of mine, and Ytrian
16:12Odyssey.
16:13They would have all been excellent choices.
16:15But Persona 5 Royal gets the spotlight for how much is added into an already meaty game.
16:20In addition to the massive story, you have a new phantom thief thrown into the plot, our darling Kasumi, a
16:27whole new area of the city to explore in your free time, and a brand new palace to bring down
16:31in the metaverse.
16:33Yeah, there's a lot more to go through here, and we're all for it, while we wait for Persona 6.
16:44Fallout New Vegas
16:45From where you're kneeling must seem like an 18 carat run of bad luck.
16:50There are several reasons why New Vegas would take you a monumental period of time to fully beat.
16:55Even though the main story is only about 30 hours long, we all know it's going to take the average
17:00player a lot longer as side quests get thrown in their way and companions start requesting favors for their own
17:06quests too.
17:07And then there's the flexibility in character builds through perks and skills affecting some decisions and dialogue options.
17:14Hell, the Wild Wasteland trait alone tacks on quite a number of quests for you to discover yourself.
17:19But you'd better tell me if I left anything out of place.
17:23The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt
17:32Regardless if you have the base game or a version that comes with the expansions, The Witcher 3 is a
17:38long game.
17:40While the main story takes up roughly 50 hours of the game, the side quests more than double the amount
17:46of time needed to do everything there is to do.
17:49And if you're into card games, well, you just might lose all sense of time learning and trying to master
17:55Gwent.
17:56By the way, this is without the two expansions tied into the game.
18:00But you know, how many of us own the game of the year edition?
18:03Yeah, we got a near 200 hour game sitting in our libraries waiting to be fully completed.
18:09No need to apologize. It was nothing.
18:12What's a game you clocked hundreds of hours into?
18:15Like I said earlier, Power Wash Simulator keeps me coming back every single time.
18:21I've clocked in almost 300 hours between PlayStation and PC. It's kind of ridiculous.
18:26But did your game make our list? Let us know down in the comments.
18:31And be sure to subscribe to Mojo Plays for more great videos every day.
18:35Enjoy the digs, partner. They're plenty fancy.
18:38Thanks for watching. If you enjoyed the video, there's more where that came from.
