00:02 With a really strong chance to play in the college football playoff, but
00:06 all of this off the field and some, I guess, technically on the field
00:10 controversy going on with some of the sign stealing scandal that's going on.
00:14 And naturally, there's a lot of video popping up on social media.
00:17 And now the FBI is involved in yet another probe in terms of an assistant
00:21 football coach.
00:22 So, I mean, my goodness, everything that's going on here, Bill,
00:26 it just seems to be piling up.
00:28 I hope for the Wolverine's sake, Bill, that they have a nice run here,
00:31 because I have a feeling after this year,
00:33 some things are going to change the dynamic of this university going forward.
00:38 >> Right, and I mean, a lot of the questions center on whether that will be
00:42 Jim Harbaugh and his future after this.
00:45 I mean, this is the second scandal in less than a calendar year with the NCAA.
00:49 I think the NCAA might take some time to investigate as they normally do.
00:54 Remember, it took them six years with Kansas.
00:57 The college football playoff is coming.
00:59 This is their best team, probably since 1997.
01:03 So we'll see how they measure that.
01:05 Remember, the college football playoff committee is full of coaches and
01:09 athletic directors.
01:10 And I'm sure they have strong feelings about the methods to which
01:14 Michigan allegedly obtained this.
01:16 So to me, Craig, it comes down to the Big Ten.
01:19 Will the Big Ten punish Michigan before the end of the season?
01:23 Will they open their own investigation?
01:25 Will they dig in on Jim Harbaugh?
01:27 And what will the ramifications of that be?
01:30 That to me is the big question moving forward over the next couple weeks, and
01:34 we'll see how it goes.
01:35 But this has been equal parts Tom Clancy's spy thriller and bad 80s comedy.
01:40 I can't decide which one.
01:41 >> Yeah, at TCU, apparently, in the college football playoff last year, Bill,
01:46 they're saying that they knew about this.
01:48 And they kind of changed things up to make it not so rudimentary.
01:52 In fact, it seems like they played a little rope-a-dope,
01:54 calling out signs that they weren't even using in this one.
01:57 And maybe that's what helped TCU in that game, Bill.
02:00 >> Yeah, but my thing with that, and we talked about that before I came on,
02:04 if you're gonna call your plays off a sandwich board, and
02:09 that is the technology we have in college, and you're gonna stand at the line
02:13 of scrimmage and call your play, I'm gonna try to steal that.
02:16 I think all of that is fair game, colleges do that.
02:19 But it's the way that Michigan has obtained this information, again,
02:22 that's gonna get them in trouble.
02:24 So I hope it ends with us putting a radio in the helmet,
02:28 with us changing the technology, making it more like the NFL.
02:32 In this case, that would be a good thing.
02:34 Because I think when you have high schools that have tablets on the field and
02:39 colleges don't, there's something wrong there.
02:42 I mean, at least in terms of big time high school football versus
02:45 college football, I think this is a no-brainer.
