00:00Hello and welcome to this National James Weather Update for Monday.
00:03We have a cold front that is moving across the bottom of Tasmania today.
00:07There's a disturbance, a disturbance over southeast Queensland.
00:10So I've got a bit of a trough running through here and some onshore moisture.
00:13Otherwise, there is another system that is brewing over in the southwest.
00:16So let's watch what that one is going to do across the week.
00:19So here is today's disturbance, 5 to 10, 10 to 15 millimetres.
00:23Nothing huge that lasts for about a day and a half.
00:26In the southeast, not much happening now that we have this high pressure system coming in here.
00:30There is a cold front that moved across the bottom of Tasmania.
00:33But this here is the next big thing.
00:35I want to direct you to the, not just the isobars here, so these grey lines, but the coloured lines here,
00:42which indicates just how cold the air is in behind this weather system.
00:45So let's have a look at Tuesday.
00:47Here it comes across the bottom through there on its way into the southeast.
00:50Now it totally misses the southwest of the country, but this one has the southeast.
00:54It won't be as big as the large cold outbreak that hit late last week into the weekend,
00:59but we will feel this one as it comes past.
01:01It won't go quite as north, but we will feel it.
01:04So here's Tuesday.
01:04Here's what's left over in the southeastern parts of Queensland, northeast New South Wales,
01:08and this one brewing down in through here.
01:10That's snow down to 1,500 metres.
01:13Anything purple is snow down to 600 metres.
01:15So there's Tuesday.
01:17Let's have a look at Wednesday.
01:18So there's the 1,500 metre line there.
01:20We've got a large area of high pressure that is to the north, which will stop that hitting any further inland,
01:25but we are going to feel it in the far southeast there.
01:27And there is 600 metres that is across the bottom part of Tasmania.
01:30So, yes, another proper cold outbreak.
01:33That's what we're looking at during the day on Wednesday.
01:35A little bit of something building in through here.
01:37So into Thursday, there's the next system getting going.
01:40Here we have this cold outbreak.
01:42Still, it'll be a one-two punch as it comes in.
01:45High pressure sinking down in behind it, helping that cold air come up from near Antarctica.
01:49Back to clear conditions in the northeast there.
01:53Here's our next weather system.
01:54Let's watch this one.
01:55Now move out of the southeast there.
01:57A little bit developing over here on Friday.
01:59Here's the remains of this one, but that's just going to slide down to the south.
02:03Then the next big weather system develops over in the west.
02:06Let's watch that one in fast motion.
02:08Here's Friday.
02:10Here is Saturday.
02:11Here is Sunday.
02:13Here is Monday.
02:15And then here is Tuesday.
02:17So that's the next big widespread rainfall system starting over in the west at the end
02:22of the week and moving across the southeast and right up into Queensland about the end
02:26of the weekend into early next week.
02:28What might that add up to in the southeast?
02:30It's just what we've got today into tomorrow.
02:32Then not much else.
02:34This one, the little disturbance in through there isn't going to deliver much at all.
02:37And then there's the start of the next system, but this is only through to the end of Monday.
02:41In the southeast, another 25 to 50 across these parts here.
02:44The big falls are in the western parts of Tasmania.
02:47And then as that next system comes across at the end of the week, 25 to 50 in the southwest
02:51corner.
02:52That's it from me for today.
02:53As always, head to Farm Online Weather for the latest.
