Part 1: I point out some possible references to actor Matt Frewer & his character Max Headroom in video game GTA: Vice City (2002).
- A nod to the pop 1980's computer generated TV presenter may show up at the intro to mission "Guardian Angels". Tommy has to pickup some special hardware at a parking deck to protect a deal organized by Cortez & Diaz. Pulling into this structure the large yellow sign reads "Maximum Headroom 4.0M". The Artificial Intelligence avatar character was named after such signage which is commonplace at the entrances to many parking decks.
- A future connection: English Synth pop band The Art Of Noise did a collaboration with Max Headroom for their '86 track "Paranoimia". Frewer does vocals on this. The Art Of Noise's '83 single, Moments In Love, was used on the soundtrack to prequel Vice City Stories in 2006.
- When Tommy picks up the item in the parking garage rival hustler Lance Vance pulls up in a white Infernus. One of fastest cars in the game, it is based on the real world Lamborghini Countach LP500.
- Matt Frewer played a gang-related transport expert in the 5th season 2 part opener to NBC TV series Miami Vice in 1988.The Vice City game draws heavily on the aesthetics of this series. In the episodes "Hostile Takeover" & "Redemption In Blood" Frewer's character Cliff King, drives a black Lamborghini LM002 offroad vehicle.

01:09Computer-generated TV presenter based on Matt Frewer's character, Edison Carter, in the various television adaptations in the 1980s.
01:22The character was in fact named for the notice that appears to the entrance of many car parking decks.
01:30Yeah, there is a future connection.
01:32And one such example lies in English synth-pop band Art of Noise.

02:04Vice City stories in 2006.
02:08When Tommy picks up the hardware item, Lance Vance drives up in a white Infernus.
02:16Another interesting link between Vice City and Matt Frewer, he played a transport chief and thug for drug lord Oscar
02:27Carrera in the fifth season two-part opening story to NBC TV crime drama Miami Vice broadcast in 1988.
02:38This series starred Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas as undercover police detectives of Crockett and Tubbs.
