00:00Did the press conference give you less faith in Sunday with Shador?
00:04It's basically, I don't care.
00:07I gotta tell you, unless he turns out and punches Daryl in the face,
00:11then I would care.
00:12But if he's going to get tight with Daryl,
00:14I'd pay a subscription to see that.
00:15If Shador gets tight with Daryl or gets tight with Jeff
00:17or gets tight with Mary Kay or anything like that,
00:19that don't matter to me.
00:22I cannot tell you, I do not care if he gets tight with him.
00:26But I'm a fan.
00:27I want the Browns to be successful.
00:29I worry because they picked the loathsome quarterback
00:32that people did not want,
00:34and that that quarterback has, I think, conducted himself decently.
00:39I think that there is a chance for some sort of payback to a fan base
00:47that has been through the ringer with him.
00:50And now that that guy can't play or might not be able to play,
00:54this is your opportunity.
00:55People really wanted you to win that job.
00:57You didn't win the job.
00:59So tell me why things are better now.
01:02You've been given nine weeks, eight weeks.
01:05We're going in week nine.
01:06There's eight weeks to get this thing really going.
01:10What have we got going in the last eight weeks to give me confidence
01:13that you're going to go out there and change this offense,
01:16and then you're going to keep this job?
01:17And I just didn't get any of that, Nate,
01:19in the eight minutes that he was out there yesterday.
01:20No, and you're right.
01:22Does this mean he's going to play worse football?
01:25No.
01:25I want to be clear here, though.
01:27No, but if he went out there and he sucked up the room,
01:29how many people are going to sit there and go,
01:31well, I mean, you heard what he said earlier this week.
01:33That's what I don't like.
01:34I don't want that to be a reason to folks.
01:36Here is what the Shador people do not understand about this,
01:38that people around the league are paying attention to.
01:40He's not auditioning for the Browns job, guys.
01:43I hope you understand this.
01:44There's a very real chance that he is not in the Browns' future.
01:47We've had two different coaches that have gone with every other option
01:51they have ahead of him, okay?
01:53He's auditioning for the rest of the league,
01:55and the last time he auditioned for the rest of the league, he blew it.
01:59Anybody associated with him blew it because he slipped from the first round
02:02to the fifth round when all he had to do was act accordingly,
02:07and he couldn't do it.
02:08And I know you guys love him as an independent voice,
02:12an independent quarterback that does what he wants,
02:15doesn't need counsel, doesn't need agents,
02:17doesn't need to do what the other quarterbacks do,
02:19because he's his own voice, and that's what makes him different,
02:22and that's why he has the fan base that he has.
02:25Yeah, but you know what?
02:26Sometimes you've got to fall in line in the NFL,
02:28and he's auditioning for everybody else,
02:30and he's consistently failing those tests.
02:34He failed it in the pre-draft stuff.
02:36I know you guys don't like to admit it.
02:38He failed in the seven starts.
02:40He just did.
02:41He had some of the worst numbers that any rookie has ever put up
02:45in recent modern-day NFL history.
02:48Still won some games.
02:48So he came back.
02:49Yes, he did.
02:50He did win some games.
02:51I'm looking for defense.
02:52I would say Miles Garrett won those games, but whatever.
02:54He won those games, and you know what it got him?
02:56Not the starting job when put up against the, quote,
03:00pariah that all the fans hated that even went so far as to rip the fans
03:04before he started the season.
03:05And so here he is.
03:06Here's his next chance, and the rest of the league is watching.
03:09Are they not?
03:10All these other teams that need quarterbacks, they're dying.
03:13They're dying for anybody to go out there.
03:16And so this is an audition for everybody,
03:18and then he goes out there and does not conduct himself
03:20like every other quarterback in the NFL.
03:22You know how I know this?
03:23Here's Tyler Shook, who is a second-year player.
03:27Granted, he's got some years on Shador.
03:28Here's Tyler Shook when he was asked the exact same question,
03:32only a different team that he's going up against.
03:35Yeah, he's asked about the Browns defense
03:36and getting ready for the Browns defense.
03:38They're solid, man.
03:39They do a really good job as far as just their dynamic up front.
03:42You know, they get off the ball really, really well,
03:43and they got some good players on the back end, too.
03:46And I think more than anything, those linebackers stand out.
03:48They fly around and hit.
03:49So we've got to be ready to go, and it starts with us on our details.
03:52And I think more than anything, we're getting in the right
03:54some of these situations.
03:55How do we capitalize and finish those
03:57and bring our play style to the mix, especially at home?
03:59He gave the professional,
04:00I'm a quarterback in the NFL this week,
04:02and I'm getting ready for random team.
04:04In fact, he could have entered that in chat GPT.
04:07That's exactly what it would have spit out.
04:09Here's your answer, starting quarterback.
04:11Here's how somebody who is representing
04:13the $5 billion entity of an NFL football team,
04:17here's what you're supposed to say.
04:18Meanwhile, here's Shador Sanders,
04:20and here's the answer that whatever he ran through spit out.
04:24Have you had a chance to study the Saints defense yet
04:27a little bit, and what are you seeing so far?
04:30Yeah, I've seen a lot.
04:32When I smile, just know that means something.
04:38I'm maturing, you know what I'm saying?
04:39I'm maturing.
04:40I could have gave that a decent answer,
04:42but now I'm just going to smile whenever it's just like
04:46some questions, you know.
04:47You are failing your next audition again, Shador.
04:51I hate to say it.
04:52I hate to say it, it's nothing personal,
04:54but the rest of the league is watching
04:56how you answer these questions.
04:58I think it's personal with his fans.
04:59And how you play.
05:00And how you play on Sunday.
05:02He's failed the Sunday test so far,
05:04hence him not getting the starting job this year.
05:06Well, here we go again.
05:07You're failing your next audition.
05:09Why can't he get this?
05:11What is so hard about this?
05:12Why does he think he's so special, Ken,
05:14that he gets to just treat these press conferences
05:17as a total joke?
05:18We always say, these press conferences
05:20are not for the media.
05:21They are for the fan base.
05:22Well, I saw the reactions.
05:24Not on our social media.
05:25The Browns.
05:27Go look at the responses under the Browns' social media
05:29when they tweeted this out yesterday.
05:32Maturity.
05:33He's a clown.
05:34He's not ready for the NFL.
05:36This is high school stuff.
05:37Like, go look at the responses.
05:38I'm not making this up.
05:40He got crushed yesterday by Browns fans.
05:42So do you think other teams around the NFL
05:44are eager to sign up for that?
05:46If he can't even...
05:47This is the easiest stuff.
05:49These are the easiest things.
05:50And he can't even get it right.
05:51What is going on there?
05:53Who is leading him to this stuff?
05:58Where's this coming from, Ken?
05:59Well, I love to fight you.
06:00I can't fight you on any of this.
06:01That's what bothers me.
06:03Because I do...
06:06His future may not be with us.
06:08So I have to sit here and think,
06:10okay, I want it to be with us.
06:11We'll see if there's a chance for that to start on Saturday.
06:15But if it's not with us,
06:17like, I do think about his future.
06:18And I'm going, you know,
06:20these segments, these things
06:22are exactly why teams pass.
06:28I mean, look at Gardner Minshew.
06:29Gardner Minshew is kind of goofy.
06:31Gardner Minshew's found jobs everywhere across the league.
06:34They traded for Jacoby Brissett yesterday in Baltimore.
06:37Jacoby Brissett has played for umpteen teams
06:39over umpteen years.
06:41It continues to find work.
06:42And some of that is like, hey, like,
06:45you get asked a question.
06:46You're right.
06:47The Tyler Shook answer.
06:48You could have dropped in Eastlake North High School.
06:52And he would have said the exact same thing.
06:55It's what a pro does.
06:57It's what a professional does.
06:58Because he knows that he's the starting quarterback.
07:02And he's the guy that cannot put them in a situation
07:05where radio dummies spend 40 minutes
07:08arguing over your answer.
07:13It's that simple.
07:15It's professionalism in every way possible.
07:17I wish I could say it differently.
07:19And it's the easiest thing.
07:20That's what I don't understand.
07:22It's almost like he's sabotaging his chances.
07:25My worry is, are you focused on the wrong thing?
07:28Because this is the type of thing I said about Baker in 2021.
07:31You're getting into it with Tony.
07:33You're getting into it with Daryl.
07:34You're getting into it with Mary Kay.
07:36You're listening to Sports Talk Radio and sub-tweeting Sports Talk Radio and getting after it.
07:41What are you focused on?
07:42Are you focused on them or are you focused on the Lions?
07:44Are you focused on them or are you focused on the Steelers?
07:46What are you focused on?
07:49Because if your focus is on beating the New Orleans Saints,
07:52Daryl is a nameless gray face and doesn't matter.
07:54And neither is Mary Kay and neither does Jeff or anybody else in that room.
07:59You go out there, you give the canned answer, we move on,
08:02and we're talking about beating the Saints
08:04and talking about how we work with Shador Sanders,
08:06who probably is the starter on Sunday, to go ahead and beat the Saints.
08:10How do we get after and get our offensive line back on track?
08:14How do we make sure that he can get the ball up and doesn't put his offensive line?
08:17How do we make sure the offensive line doesn't put him in trouble against Chase Young,
08:22who's had, again, seven sacks in seven games, or Carl Granderson,
08:26or any of the other guys?
08:27Like, it's still going to be a team of professionals out there.
08:30Their defense isn't that great.
08:31The tell-all one was the question about the defense,
08:34about the Saints' defense and game planning for them,
08:38and he did not want to answer that.
08:41And he thought giving the answer that he gave was the correct one.
08:44It just wasn't.
08:45It wasn't.
08:46That's not how NFL quarterbacks do it.
08:48Well, he's doing –
08:49I'll be honest.
08:49Chuck, that's not how he answered.
08:51I can give you Malik Willis' right now because I went and got that.
08:54They played the Lions this weekend.
08:55You want to hear that?
08:56Yeah.
08:57Right now you're going up against a team that's ranked 32nd
09:00in passing yards allowed per game.
09:02Do you go into this matchup thinking this is an opportunity for you
09:05to put something on your shoulders
09:07and maybe have a bigger impact in how this offense moves the ball?
09:12I wouldn't say that at all.
09:13That's just a statistician's number.
09:16I mean, we watched the film.
09:17They're a well-coached team, and they have, you know,
09:19a couple ups and downs like everybody else in the league,
09:22and they just so happen to be, you know, statistically at that.
09:25But they've won a lot of games.
09:26They've won more games than we have, and you put it like that,
09:29it makes you really think about, like,
09:30whether that stat is really true or not, you know.
09:33So I just try to focus on continuing to try to, you know,
09:36instill the game plan, make sure we're all on the same page,
09:38and try to go out there and execute.
09:40Great answer.
09:40They all can do this.
09:42Great answer.
09:42It wasn't just Malik Willis.
09:43CJ Stroud, he was asked about Denver, who they play this week.
09:50What is your first impression, maybe, of this Broncos team
09:54and, you know, what they're capable of doing on the defensive side?
09:56Yeah, ton of respect for them as a team, as a unit.
09:59Obviously, that's where, you know, I've been watching the study is.
10:02Really good at every level.
10:04You see the intensity they play with, attention to detail.
10:07They play really well together, very competitive.
10:11They do a great job.
10:12We have a ton of respect for them, for their scheme.
10:15And for us, we're excited for the challenge.
10:18You know, we know that we have to be at our best.
10:20We're excited to work throughout the week to try to be at our best this weekend
10:24and then just want to execute.
10:25So, yeah, excited for the challenge.
10:27You can't say he hasn't been around in it.
10:29This was yesterday?
10:31That was yesterday.
10:32That was yesterday.
10:32Those were all quarterbacks yesterday.
10:34I did that in five minutes on YouTube.
10:36This was not fed to me.
10:39Well, I know that the Cleveland media is heartless and toxic and all those things,
10:43but you can't say that C.J. Stroud hasn't been through it with Houston
10:45where they are $20 million apart, or, excuse me, 30 in some reports,
10:50$30 million apart on long-term.
10:52I'm sorry, that wasn't C.J. Stroud.
10:52That was Bryce Young.
10:53That was Bryce Young.
10:54Okay, I beg your pardon.
10:56So, Bryce Young, well, that's a different animal,
10:57and he's been through it before as well.
10:59So, you got an answer there from Bryce Young.
11:02That's a good answer.
11:04Boy, this is rough.
11:05This is rough.
11:07It is different, man.
11:10Let me get to Michael and Medina.
11:12Michael, hello.
11:13Hello.
11:14How are you guys doing today?
11:14Wonderful.
11:15Go ahead.
11:16Good.
11:17Hey, I'm going to play devil's advocate here.
11:19What are your opinions if Dylan Gabriel was given that interview?
11:24Are you saying the answer, if he gave those answers?
11:29Yes.
11:29What difference would the answer be?
11:33If Dylan, I've heard Dylan talk.
11:34It would have been the exact same of all the other quarterbacks.
11:37He probably would have gave a canned answer that we wouldn't have to spend an hour on.
11:41Yeah, we'd be done with.
11:42Yeah.
11:42Yep.
11:43Yep, I agree.
11:44100%.
11:44Yeah.
11:46I saw that out there yesterday.
11:48There were a lot of fans who were not thrilled with that yesterday.
11:50I just don't understand the point.
11:52I don't get where he's coming from.
11:54I saw his brother and his photographer, Boog.
12:00Those guys are coming.
12:02They activated their Twitter accounts again, apparently.
12:04I'm not messing with that stuff.
12:05I don't care about that stuff.
12:06They are going after Mary Kay, saying nasty things about Mary Kay.
12:11Why?
12:11I'm sorry, guys.
12:13This is just not what NFL teams want.
12:16They don't want...
12:17Why are you focused on Mary Kay Cabot?
12:19Not you.
12:19Her.
12:20Who's asking about the Saints?
12:21Why are we focused on Mary Kay Cabot?
12:23This is the vicious line of questioning.
12:25Hey, you're playing a team this week.
12:26Can you tell me about the team?
12:28Oh, boy.
12:29Here we go again.
12:31The dishonest media out with their narrative.
12:33No, dude.
12:34We just want you to say, hey, you're going up against a good team.
12:36You played with MJ Emerson.
12:37He's on that defense.
12:38Yeah.
12:39Like, why are we concerned about reporters?
12:43Yeah.
12:44It's majoring in the minor, right?
12:46Oh, God.
12:46Daryl, damn you.
12:48It's worrying about the stuff that should not matter.
12:51You're just opening up a can of worms.
12:53And I wonder, what was Shador doing when different NFL teams were interviewing him at the Combine?
12:58Was this how he came off?
13:00I pray this is not how he came off.
13:02Because if this is how he came off, then everybody has to apologize to the rest of the league about
13:06this conspiracy,
13:07this vast 32-team conspiracy to hold Shador down.
13:11No, dude.
13:12If he was answering questions like this, I'm surprised he even got drafted.
13:15I'm surprised he even got drafted.
