00:00on the game-winning kick from Andre Schmidt and how sweet it was after he missed the go-ahead
00:07field goal earlier in the game that would have put them ahead and mitigated Deshaun Watson
00:11having to put together that game-winning touchdown drive, I guess, you know, not a game-winning
00:18touchdown drive, but game-winning drive there for your Cleveland Browns to put you up.
00:22And boy, man, I was nervous.
00:24I was nervous when he was lining up for that last kick because I know last week, you know,
00:28it was in a rainy MetLife and it was crappy conditions, but, you know, you got that missed
00:33extra point that Andre Schmidt had in the back of your head.
00:36You had the missed field goal earlier today and it was, it was like fine conditions.
00:41So there was really no external reasons as to why he should have missed that field goal
00:46other than he just punched it right a little bit or punched it left a little bit.
00:50And, you know, kind of that, that's what allowed you to, you know, miss, miss a field goal.
00:56And then again, the defense just doing such a tremendous job today, holding Tyler Huntley
01:03to just 165 passing yards, holding guys like Zay Flowers and Jacoby Lane to under a hundred
01:10yards today.
01:11Like just a really, really impressive job.
01:14Obviously, you know, you allow the one touchdown to Josh Cuevas, but you know, again, that's a
01:19guy that you're okay beating you, obviously not in the end zone, but that's a guy you're okay
01:23beating you, uh, throughout the game, but again, two, one, six, four, seven, four, double
01:27092.
01:28Want to get your reaction to the win as well.
01:30Just, uh, update you on the guardian score.
01:32They are down three to nothing bottom of the fifth inning.
01:36Uh, bottom of the order is up right now.
01:38I have no idea who's pitching because they have been, they pulled Parker Messick in the
01:43second inning and it's just been a, uh, a carousel of relievers from there.
01:46We'll get to that game the second that it ends, but want to know how you're feeling after
01:51this game, because it was bad, bad, bad for a long time.
01:54At one point I actually wrote down.
01:56So good teams, I feel like good teams, well-coached teams, well-oiled NFL machines.
02:02They don't commit this many penalties.
02:04They don't have offensive stallouts like we saw throughout the game today.
02:10I mean, at one point there were two straight drives where the Browns got eight and nine
02:14yards on first down and then somehow ended up going three and out that exact drive.
02:20And you're sitting there going, how in the hell did this happen?
02:22How did we break off a great runner on the one?
02:25It was good pass right up, uh, next to this first down stakes.
02:28And then you have terrible, terrible play calling.
02:32Like I, and that's, I thought it was a combination of just not putting Deshaun Watson in a good
02:37position to succeed along with the fact that Deshaun clearly is still struggling to pick
02:44up being an NFL quarterback, whether it's the speed, whether it's the speed of being
02:48an NFL quarterback, whether the defenses are adjusting to him again, we knew going into
02:53the game that the Baltimore Ravens defense is damn good.
02:56And Jesse Minter is a damn good quarterback and coach, and he's a defensive coach that
03:01did really, really well for the chargers over the last couple of years that of course landed
03:06him the job in Baltimore, but we knew, so we knew that it was going to be an uphill battle.
03:12This is going to be a continued struggle throughout the season.
03:15If Deshaun Watson cannot adjust the way that other quarterbacks have to throughout the course
03:21of a regular season, we're going to be losing a lot more of these games than we have over
03:25these last six weeks, because now you put out six games of film on tape for the rest of the
03:31NFL to see. And again, you're going into another game next week where the Titans are terrible
03:36and they're way worse than the Baltimore Ravens are on defense. But still Robert Sala is a defensive
03:41head coach and he knows Deshaun Watson because he's been in the league for a long time. So you
03:48don't think that he's going to scheme up ways to put Deshaun Watson in bad spots. You don't think
03:52that every defensive coordinator across the league is licking their chops, seeing how long Deshaun
03:58Watson was holding the ball today and how long he's continued to stay very, very passive
04:03in the pocket. And I mean, there were even throws that he completed downfield or checkdowns where
04:08you saw him pump faking. And it's like, dude, just throw the ball. But it's an indication
04:12that maybe he's not trusting his eyes. Maybe he's not trusting his instincts. Something there
04:18is a, something is disconnected with Deshaun Watson. And it does. I'm sure it's a lot to do
04:23with the fact that he didn't play for the last two seasons. But when you start off four and two
04:29and you got a guy waiting on the wings and should or Sanders that a lot of the fans would
04:34rather see
04:35play quarterback for your team. Then the guy that's currently playing quarterback, you can't
04:39continue to roll out performances like this in order for me to trust you. Now, again, another day,
04:46another game winning drive, another week where the Browns end with a win. And that staves off the
04:51question marks around whether Deshaun Watson should be benched because yeah, believe me,
04:57if you lose this game, we're coming in here, having serious conversations about whether or not
05:01should or Sanders should start next week about the Tennessee Titans or, or we should speed up his
05:07clock as to what we get to him or Dylan Gabriel or whomever they end up deciding after Deshaun Watson,
05:13you win the game, you put together a veteran drive at the end of things to get you in a
05:20position to
05:20kick the wit with game winning field goal and win the game. You can't bench a starting quarterback
05:25after a game like that, after a final drive like that, because there's still his belief in the
05:29locker room that he's going to put you in the best position to succeed because over these last six
05:35weeks, we've now seen it multiple times. It just sucks for us fans that we have to watch this terrible
05:42offensive performance continue. But again, as long as your defense stays stalwart, hopefully in the
05:46next, hopefully next week, you get Mason Graham and Michael Jr. back. I don't know what Carson
05:52Swessinger is going to look like for the rest of the season, but you know, he's going to be banged
05:56up. We'll have to see. Obviously Grant Delpit leaves the game with a concussion. We'll see what
06:00he looks like for next week. But as long as the defense stays at the level that they're at, which
06:06is
06:06a lot to ask, but we've seen it through six weeks, then we can allow the offense a little bit
06:11more
06:12leeway to figure themselves out. And maybe the coaching staff needs a little bit more time to
06:17figure out the best positions to put Deshaun Watson in. I mean, I've been saying for the fast,
06:22you know, for this entire season, you have to be able to give Deshaun Watson the snap and get him
06:28a
06:29quick out pass, give him quick outs so that this offensive line that is clearly struggled over these
06:34last couple of weeks, doesn't have to hang around for Deshaun Watson to figure out what the hell is going
06:40on downfield. And I don't feel like today, once again, you know, I felt the same way last week
06:45against the jets. I don't think our offense was putting Deshaun Watson in the best position to
06:49succeed. And I think a lot of that, you know, lent itself into him waiting and waiting and then
06:55running and scrambling. And many times, you know, the sack ended up ending up on his shoulders as
07:01opposed to the offensive line. All right. 2 1 6 4 7 4 double 0 92. AJ is in Omaha,
07:07Nebraska. He's been on
07:08the whole the wild. What's going on? They looked at me a little bit different, but here's my take
07:12on the whole day. Just like I was at an amusement park all day, you know, you pay, you pay
07:16for this
07:17ticket and you ride the ride that, you know, that are there. And there's some rides you're really
07:20leery about getting on. And that was this season for the Browns for me, like really leery about
07:27getting on board this year, but you know, I'm going to get on board just like every other year.
07:30And man, am I glad I'm on board because it's always up. I don't care Deshaun or no Deshaun,
07:36you know, I've, I mean, Jerry, Judy's absolutely terrible, but we're not, are we having fun?
07:42Are we enjoying ourselves? Like that is the entire, that is the entire point of this.
07:48We paid for this ticket. So let's ride. Brown's going to Brown.
07:53All right, AJ. I appreciate the phone call. And again, that's kind of the mentality that I've
07:58taken toward this season, simply in the fact that I didn't think that this was going to be a good
08:03year. And this was, I mean, I felt, I still remember every time that I turned on a Browns
08:10game since week one, I still remember the feeling that I had when I sat down on the couch for
08:15the
08:16first time against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It felt like clocking into work. It was like,
08:20all right, we're going to get this done. I'm going to type my little notes up and then we're going
08:24to
08:24come in here and complain about it. I haven't had that feeling since there's a lot of optimism
08:30around the team. And I think if you just remove yourself, because there's been so many conversations
08:36over these last two, three years about who's the starting quarterback to Sean Watson's here.
08:41How long is he going to be here? Is it going to be should or standards? Is it going to
08:45be Kenny
08:46picket? Like there's been so many question marks that have bogged us down as a fan base over these
08:52last couple of seasons that have sucked the enjoyment out of like watching a game, sitting
09:00down at your, on your couch or going to the muni lot and enjoying being a fan and watching your
09:06favorite team and rooting them on. Because in the back of your mind, you're always thinking about a
09:10million different questions that have nothing to do with whether or not they win or lose the ball game
09:15because they started off three and one and they're now four and two after six weeks and
09:20they're in first place in the AFC North. And I will continue to repeat that because it doesn't
09:25happen that often with the Cleveland Browns. You are first place in the AFC North after six weeks of
09:31the season, after beating the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers, that doesn't happen that
09:36often. I urge all of you guys to just enjoy the ride. We have been afforded the beautiful
09:44ability to not think about who the starting quarterback is going to be in 2027. Leave those
09:51questions to the decision makers in the Browns. We have a long, cold, brutal off season to yell at
09:58each other and scream at each other on social media about which college quarterback or which bridge
10:03quarterback we think should be the next quarterback of the Cleveland Browns. But as of now, as of
10:08tonight, Sunday night, after six weeks in the NFL season, you're four and two and your offense is
10:15putting you in positions to win games and you have young, exciting talent on both sides of the ball,
10:21a foundation, a core that allows you to feel confident moving forward no matter who the quarterback
10:28ends up being. So I enjoy it. Enjoy as long as this lasts. Maybe this is the last game they
10:35win this
10:35season. How many times have I said that this year, but at the end of the day, think back at
10:40how cool
10:40that Thursday night win was. Think back at how cool that last second after a two hour rain delay,
10:45Tampa Bay Buccaneers win was. And now think about that excitement when you're leaving Huntington
10:51Bainfield after Andre Schmidt redeems himself just 10 minutes later, 15 minutes later, and kicks the
10:58game winning field goal to win over the Baltimore Ravens. These wins over teams like this do not come this
11:04often in Cleveland. They do not come this often for the Cleveland Browns. And whether Todd Munkin is
11:09a one and done or whether he's the last head coach that we're ever going to hire as an organization,
11:14he clearly struck something in that locker room. And he clearly is doing a, is doing a lot of good
11:21things to put themselves in the position to win. I know everyone's super excited about the start,
11:26but I don't want people to forget in 2014, this, this team was seven and four and then proceeded to
11:33lose out the rest of the season and miss the playoffs, the losing record. Absolutely.
11:37Like, yes, it's everything's great right now, but keep going week by week. Like enjoy what it is
11:44right now, but it might just be this. Well, that's what enjoying it. That's what I, that that's kind
11:50of what I'm getting at is not, not so much like enjoy it. And the fact that this is suddenly
11:55a
11:55playoff team and this is suddenly a team that's like an AFC championship contender or whatever the
11:59case is, but enjoy it. Like Dom said, week to week, enjoy the fact that you get to go to
12:04work
12:05tomorrow and a Browns victory Monday. And you maybe don't have to talk about the spreadsheets for a
12:09little bit. You can talk about how cool that wind was and how awesome it was to see Andre Schmidt
12:13kick the field goal to win the game week to week is what it is because you know, like, like
12:19Dom,
12:19you said, I don't like attack a whatever, but not everything's good. Like the offense still has
12:26a ton of question marks. We still don't know if this run game can be feasible long-term it worked
12:32today. It worked a little bit in the Steelers game, but again, today was with a guy that was
12:37on your practice squad to begin the season. And a guy that was on the Minnesota Vikings practice
12:42squad until Tuesday of this week. So I don't know how long-term the, you know, this plan is.
12:48I don't know how much Jerry Judy is going to contribute long-term. He did tremendous today,
12:54but now it's sort of a wait and see. It is a week to week approach for me, but Hey,
13:01if we're going week to week, this is a one in a week, not to sound like a coach here,
13:04but
13:04it's a victory week and it's a victory Sunday after evening.
